This week’s patch reduces level building times considerably! The effect should be the most dramatic on certain AMD hardware that was suffering from building times in excess of a full minute. The fix couldn’t have been done without the help of our Discord community. So a big shout out to all players who helped track this issue!
In addition, we’ve added a new low level encounter, improved the mechanics and feedback of recovery from wounded and weary, and finally got around making knowledge of legends and crafting recipes permanent again.
Gameplay Changes - New low level encounter: Smilga Swarm. - Increases the chance you encounter prey. - When you continue after completing a quest time no longer passes. - The quit button is no longer available on a quest end screen (you must either continue or return to Haven). - The check for recovery, repairs, and resupplies is moved to when you return to the temple. - The feedback on recovery, repairs, and resupplies is improved.
Bug Fixes - Fixes another case of exit markers preventing you from leaving because they want to close a non-existing quest first… - Fixes issues with the permanence of learned recipes. - Information learned about quests and legends is correctly passed between Wayfarers. - Information learned about quests and legends is correctly restored when you load a game. - You can heal wounds and restore hope during the prologue by talking to the Loremaster. - You can trade to recruit characters correctly once again. - Tracking and hunting skills work as advertised. - Envoys no longer act unnecessarily rude when they are supposed to be friendly. - Catches an issue that caused some items not to stack properly.
Other Changes - Significantly improves level building times. - Updating the rules reference. - Hides clan traits that are no longer applicable until they can be removed or redesigned.
We hope everyone is having a nice July now that summer’s in full swing! Here’s what we were up to last month!
Puzzles
Last month we finished off some puzzle work – so let’s talk about it!
One type we added was pipe puzzles since…. well… they feel rather steampunky don’t they? They do have a in-game reason for them too – trust us. As you can see above we’ve got a slew of pieces to add to solve the puzzle on the right. You need to connect the pipes together and so steam can flow through them! Though I wonder what will happen if you turn them all on? 🤔
There’s still a little bit more work to do – such as UI elements, some cool steam effects and so on – but we hope you like how it’s looking so far.
Next 6 Months
It’s been 6 months since our last check in on our plans – so let’s go over what the rest of the year will look like! That being said… lots of things are up in the air given the state of employment, so please keep that in mind and that things may change.
Our main “theme” for the next 6 months is “making the world alive”. This means adding things like NPCs, enemies, treasures, passive animals, etc. We’ll also be putting things together and plugging everything in – for example battle animations. By the end of the year we hope we’ll be in a place where we’ll be able to focus on side quests, things we missed, accessibility and so on.
In the short term (3-6 months), this means:
Adding new Battle VFX (and SFX?)
Adding NPCs, animals, treasure, etc. to the maps
Rebalancing Debate battles & related facts/evidence/side quests etc.
Finish adding all of the Kickstarter backer houses
And looking beyond that (subject to change):
Map visual upgrades (ex. the water shader)
Adding Side Quests
Performance and bug fixes as needed
General balancing & AI difficulty (battles, economy, etc.)
A: Our initial plan is to release the game on PC. However, depending on player interest and demand, we are considering bringing it to consoles as well in the future. Stay tuned for more updates!
Q: Any date for demo?
A: We are planning to release the demo in September. However, please note that the month might change a little bit, as schedules in the game industry can be quite dynamic. Thank you for your patience and support!

From the briny depths comes a new content pass, full of new content! For the grand prize, look forward to the barnacled Kraken Shank dagger, as well as plenty more seafaring items!
Accomplished buccaneers can also look forward to the Pirate King/Queen title, only available to those who finish every task!
This Content Pass will run for four weeks, starting on July 9th and ending on August 6th.
Polonia’s Jolly Roger
The Content Pass contains a special decoration! This pirate flag has the special ability to track Polonia’s thieving prowess and remembers how many items she’s stolen during her lifetime. Simply inspect the decoration to learn her current score.
Tracking will also happen even while the decoration is stored away. Keep in mind however that thefts prior to this update were not tracked.
Seed of Merit Fusion
It’s finally available! You can fuse your own Seeds of Merit with the following recipe:
10x Seeds of Vitality
10x Seeds of Power
10x Seeds of Resistance
3x Mega XP Drinks
15x Supreme Moonstones
Blitz Pass
This new feature is exclusive to new players. We’ve actually stealthily tested it a few months back and we were happy with the results!
The Blitz Pass is a new method for fresh players to hire Champions. Upon first meeting a Champion, they’ll trigger that Champion’s Blitz Pass, which functions like a very short and rather easy Content Pass. By completing a few “tutorial” tasks, the player will earn enough Champion Coins to hire that Champion and hopefully learn a thing or two.
As of this update, the Lilu Blitz Pass is available. Sia and Yami are expected to be included soon, and other Champions may also receive Blitz Passes in the future.
New Major Artifacts
Two new Major Artifacts have been added to the Major Artifact chest. Their components are also now available.
Wyrmbane Cannon
This powerful gun is a perfect fit for Dragon Invasion! Not only is it worth 20% more points when donated, it also increases its wielder’s Dragon Invasion score by 20% when assigned to the airship.
Thankfully, it does not require Wyrmbane Cannonballs to fire.
Rock Stompers
These heavy, heavy boots are best worn by lumbering fighters. They grant a +250 Defense bonus, as well as a +25% skill bonus to Defense. Due to their weight however, the user’s evasion is set to 0% and cannot be changed.
Minor Changes
Champion equipment restrictions now use the same rules as Heroes do, with each item tier using the same level requirement as Heroes do. Previously, there were no restrictions at all.
Added a market and inventory filter for Artifact Components.
King Schedule
King Reinhold will be available as a Guest Champion on July 22nd, leaving on the 25th.
Bug Fixes
The Pride Heart decoration is no longer mysteriously limited to 5 per shop.
Fixed Ashley and Bjorn doubling the effect of Boosters during Flash Quests and Bosses, respectively.

Added audio for Tier 14 Spirits.
Properly fixed success rate for enchantments with mismatched qualities.
Fixed a Shop Edit bug that could allow players to store their last Trunk.
Fixed the Dragon’s Hoard not properly displaying its bonuses upon upgrade.

Fixed a bug with the Enchantment Establishment talent, causing it to increase the value higher than indicated.
Fixed an issue where the second enchantment on an item could provide more value than the item’s base value.
Fixed an issue preventing gem prices from displaying when purchasing copies of furniture obtained from offers.
Fixed a rare issue where an Aurasong could temporarily not be equipped on a Champion.
Fixed an issue where Artifact Components could appear as Bounty Board tasks.
Attempted fix for an issue where the shine effect could remain stuck on a reward after claiming it in event reward tracks.
Updated the gem cost of some Counter upgrades past level 20 as they were lower than intended.
Added market filters for Tier 14 spirits and the Goose Spirit.
Fixed the Titan Spirit restrictions displaying on unrelated skills. This was a purely visual issue.
Bug Unfixes
Reintroduced the Spellknight skill multiplier bug as there was no elegant way of restoring its lost stats.
Metroidvanias need to have fun and exciting bosses, which is exactly why we thought we‘d give you the chance to encounter those bosses in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown AGAIN. So, if you were silently hoping to fight those bosses more than once - this update is for you.
Lucky for you, the Steam release includes this and the other free updates right out of the box—no additional waiting needed.
Boss Revenge
Boss Revenge gives you the ability to be able to try those boss fights again (looking at you Manticore...)
Here is how it works:
Gradual unlock: After beating each Boss, they are unlocked in the Boss Revenge menu, which our trusty friend Artaban has in the Haven (don’t worry you’ll learn all about the Haven later). In this challenge, you will enter each Boss Battle with a preset (Life / Weapon Upgrades / Time Powers)
Pick your level of challenge: For each Boss, you can choose the difficulty you want to play them against: Rookie/Warrior/Hero/Immortal or No Hit. This choice is independent from the current game difficulty.
Prove your skills and beat your records: A seal is displayed once you've beaten a Boss in a set difficulty.
Boss Rush
The greatest challenge awaits the bravest: the Boss Rush. This challenge only comes once you complete the game, where you test your abilities and skills by defeating all the main bosses in a row. And not only do you get bragging rights to yourself of how amazing you did, but you can get two outfits from it!
Endgame challenge: The Rush gets unlocked after finishing the main story. In this challenge, you will enter with your current life/Amulets/Weapon Upgrades and Athra surges.
Fight all Bosses in order: The fights unfold in the same order as in the main story.
Pick your level of challenge: For each Rush, you can choose the difficulty you want to play against: Rookie/Warrior/Hero/Immortal or No Hit. This choice is independent from the current game difficulty.
Manage your resources: The amount of Life / Potions / Arrows or Athra gauge left is kept from one battle to the next. You'll need to plan your rush, and use the possibility to change your Amulets & Athra Surges loadout between each fight wisely. Some Amulets are not active in Boss Rush to keep the experience balanced.
Prove your skills and beat your own records: A seal is displayed once you've beaten the complete Boss Rush in any difficulty, alongside the time taken to do so. Beating the challenge on a high-difficulty setting also unlocks the seal for the lower-difficulty ones. There's a possibility there's a secret seal...
Fashion Week
I know, I know the Sands of Time outfit was fire, but we have another banger for you with this update! Only, this one you have to work for. 😎
Oh, that skin looks familiar 👀
Quality of Life
Some changes were brought with this update, and since the update will already be at your fingertips, you get to them right away!
Wak-Wak trees fast travel: Instantly travel from one Wak-Wak tree to another, without the need to use Fast travel Altars. This ability must be purchased in the Magi Emporium in the Haven (Mage shop) and is unlocked after obtaining the Fabric of Time power.
High contrast mode accessibility improvement: improvement on attack readability (yellow vs red enemy attacks)
Whew, that was another awesome free update if I do say so myself.
