Hello fellow Shrimp enjoyers.

I have changed the drops slightly, they will now automatically check for available drops each minute, previously it would only check on click, but that seemed to confuse some people.

I also want to clarify that drops are capped at 4 per day.

Update to version 1.02.21, and launch the game between now, and midnight on the 5th of July to get your very own freedom shrimp :)

Balance Changes
-Stage 1 boss (MOMO) has been altered to be less aggressive , attacks related to her flower are mostly removed and she provides a bigger window of time to be hit by players. She also no longer shifts position at the end of an attack loop and remains above the water for the duration of the fight.

-Bosses can now be re challenged immediately if you get a game over to one without having to replay stages again. Due to how stages are programmed, the background /environment that appears along with the boss will not be displayed with the boss for the time being. This limitation will be fixed in a future update.

Bug fixes
Controller changes / detection are now recognised when unplugging a controller during the gameplay. Note this may cause a error in which the pause screen is shown with no text the first time this is attempted (or if it's attempted as soon as a stage starts , we are currently working on fixing this.

Dead of Night Re-Vamped Update News

Hello everyone. As usual it's been a while.

And I really wish this post was to announce the release date of the update, but unfortunately free time is something I have little of these days, so I get done what I can when I can (the bus to and from work help).

It's gonna be a while longer.
I've a brief video (which hopefully you've watched) about what's been happening with Dead of Night. Give it a watch if you can; I don't do this sort of thing normally so I hope I don't come across as an idiot!

If you didn't watch til the end you have the attention span of an orange. But if you did you'll know that there is a Beta version live on Steam!

Right click on Dead of Night

Goto Properties

Click on Betas

Click on NONE at the top right and select the Beta (no password).

As stated in the video, theres bugs. It's a Beta. Still so so so much that I want in this game. There's already loads implemented but you're not gonna see everything thats been done 'cause I don't want to spoil it for you!

Three of the 4 quests are in and pretty much complete bar bug testing and polish, but the only one you can complete is the diary (as I've locked the others off).

THERE'S A README IN THE INSTALL FOLDER, IT WOULD BE BEST TO START THERE.

So please, give the Beta a go...

Start the original first and have a go at it and THEN swap over to the Beta! Improvements should be instantly noticeable.

Bobo Bay Playtest - NewFutureKids
- can't drop items when in front of an interactable
- increases camera smoothing/damping so it doesn't clip *as* much.
- lowered distance from camera to parfait in the town
- fixed ground collider issue near waterfalls
- bobos get a little happy when you feed them. before it was just putting their anger down, but now they get happy. so there is a joy particle pop up too.
- made background of registration ui darker
- made it easier to see what on screen keyboard button is selected
- increased difficulty of run run run cus it was taking too long. now that track only happens once
- roundabout rolled has a new track :BoboExcited: to be easier and more fit for C rank. it's basically just he first third of the super long Run Run Run race.
- little alert sound from comp center trial monitor when the bobo isn't registered
- particles like sleeping and hearts werent playing properly since i readded new sprites. so fixed that.
- text font size down for comp difficulty letter
- fire anger particle changed to classic anger symbol
- first race letter includes "every race is free to enter!"
- bunch of letter changes like text tweaks and date swaps.
- added hammock letter from sister.
- new letter from comp center explaining how every comp is on the a schedule.
- added an item aiming input pop up now. can be turned off with tooltips in settings.
- fixed Y input button showed up on bobo pedestal for some reason.
- extra check added to make sure ui pop up goes away after leaving an item
- character limit added when using on screen keyboard
- items ACTUALLY get thrown right in front of parfait now. wasn't working before.
