Hi, folks! This is my seventeenth devlog. We released the demo at the beginning of May, so I missed the timing of writing the devlog that was supposed to be written at the end of April ^^;; I’ve only left the last planet description, but I’m hoping you’ll enjoy it in the full version game, so I’ll keep the last planet explanation out of the devlog!

1. Steam Demo released
On the morning of May 7th (KST), the Steam demo of “METAL SUITS” was released. With the Steam demo, we also released a demo launch video with a story.
The released demo currently supports English, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. (*More languages will be supported in the full version!!)
2. Participating in local events
“METAL SUITS”, which is in production, participated in the “19th Gyeonggi Game Audition” and “IndieCraft 2024” held in Korea.
(1) 19th Gyeonggi Game Audition
The Gyeonggi Game Audition, which started in 2015, has just completed its 19th edition. About 230 companies participated in the 19th Gyeonggi Game Audition, and the final presentation evaluation was held on May 24, 2024, and was evaluated by about 20 expert evaluators and about 100 audience evaluators.
“METAL SUITS” also participated in the 19th Gyeonggi Game Audition event and was selected in the TOP10 and won the 1st place winner at the final presentation!!!
(2) IndieCraft 2024
IndieCraft, which started in 2017, is now in its eighth year. This year, 326 Korean companies participated, making it the largest number of games ever submitted.
We participated in the IndieCraft 2024 event with our “METAL SUITS” and were selected in the TOP 15 out of 326 companies, and won 2nd place winner at the final presentation!!!
3. Participating in international events
(1) Participated Steam Next Fest June 2024
METAL SUITS has completed participation in the June Steam Next Fest from June 11th.
(2) Participated Future Games Show Summer Showcase 2024 We are invited to participate in the Future Games Show, an online game show organized by GamesRadar, to exhibit online.
We didn’t know about the event because it was an overseas event(not famous in South Korea), so we didn’t sign up for it, but we got an email from the event producer saying that he played our demo of METAL SUITS and enjoyed it so much that he wanted to showcase our game METAL SUITS at the event.
Our METAL SUITS was featured in the “Ones to Play” section of the Future Games Show!
(3) Participating BitSummit 2024
“METAL SUITS” will be participating in BitSummit 2024, an offline event in Kyoto specializing in indie games. About 450 games were submitted for this year’s event, and luckily, “Metal Suits” passed the screening and will be able to attend.
We are participating in BIC 2024 with “METAL SUITS”. We participated in BIC in 2022 with a prototype of “METAL SUITS”, and now we’re excited to participate again with a nearly finished game.
If you’re coming to the Busan IndieConnect Festival, we’d love to say hello to you at the event.

Development of METAL SUITS is progressing steadily, and once the PC version is finished, we will port it to XBOX / PlayStation / Nintendo Switch.
We plan to attend as many exhibitions as possible before the release and if we have some issues, we’ll let you know what we are doing!

Since you guys are awesome and funded our previous campaigns, we were able to start two Makeship campaigns on June 28th!
macdguy worked on a camera volume and camera IO items. They have follow and static modes. He also worked on a physics spawner, designed for Ball Race / Minigolf obstacles, but could be used for anything.

Johanna finished working on the Minigolf SDK, and worked on optimizations for the plaza.
Lifeless finished the Ball Race map, Eruption, worked on adding the SDNL voice lines, and continued working on several QOL features.

Nuclearxpotato continued working on a new Minigolf map.
Sketchman worked on bug and crash fixes. He also made achievement icons for the Ball Race map, Eruption.
Wheezwer worked with Makeship on the plushie and pins, wrote the Dev Update, and continued working on the arcade art pass.

1. Why is the network connection quality so unstable?
1.1 Why can't connect to the room, and it's easy to get disconnected when enter the room?
We can only use Steam's P2P online service,because we don't have enough money to buy a server>^< Please don't complain that "the server is rubbish". The game has no server. The quality of the network depends on the host's network quality and Steam communication. MessyUp supports network connection, but the underlying network technology uses Steam's P2P service; The network stability depends on the quality of the Steam network and the host's network environment; Simply put, the room host acts as a forwarding server to forward messages, and Steam assists the entire process. In this case, if the Steam network is not good locally or the host's network quality is poor, the game network connection will be disconnected or unable to connect.
1.2 How to make the network more stable?
The first known method is to use a game accelerator. We have cooperated with some accelerators, which can improve the network condition to a certain extent; However, some players reported that the network condition is not laggy without the accelerator, but is very laggy after using it. In this case, we recommend that you try it. If it is not laggy, there is no problem; If it is laggy, try the accelerator. If it is not solved, you can give feedback in the QQ group or Discard group.

2. How to use accelerators - How to speed up the game so that you can connect to the Internet smoothly?
2.1 Use your favorite accelerator and search for "MessyUp" in the search bar
2.2 Enter the acceleration page and click "Start Acceleration" or similar buttons to accelerate.
2.3 Click the start game button and start the game!

We've been hard at work for the past month and here's what's new for version 0.8.5.0!
Tweaked how Jon works in battle.
His max TP is now 1000 and he keeps his TP between battles. "Enrage" and almost all of his moves now use TP, and if he maxes out on TP, he has a chance to either automatically go into a full rage, perform a super move and drain his TP all at once, or pass out from the stress.
Added LOTS of new lore books.
The Newham library is quickly filling up with books that give players a glimpse at the lore and backstory of the world of Neria.
Added voice lines to the main characters!
This is a trial run of something we've had brewing in the background for a while now. All the main characters have voice clips to go along with their dialogue through Chapter 5. Please let us know what you think!
Added flavor text and interactions with many objects throughout the game.
