This is a small patch to fix a bug where Steam achievements for hotshot and freak difficulties weren't coming through. Sorry about that!
Your victories will still be saved even if the achievement didn't trigger previously. Now in 0.82 getting a win on hotshot or freak will trigger any relevant achievements for that difficulty retroactively.
Thanks for playing! If you're enjoying the game, please consider leaving a review. They help me a lot :)

Hi, everyone! The final update for Beyond the Mountains is now live! Here's an abridged list of changes and patches that you can expect in the new update.
UPDATED SPRITES AND TILESETS IN ALL AREAS
I've really improved my pixel art in the last year, and wanted to tastefully update many sprites and tiles in all areas. The new areas blend together a bit better and have consistent theming throughout. Some areas look completely different.
Updated Old Florasta
Updated Marbus Shores
Updated Bryhana
FIXED COUNTLESS GLITCHES AND SOFTLOCKS
There were hundreds of little glitches that I patched out. Sadly, some very minor graphic glitches still exist as they are baked into the game. They've all been patched for the sequel.
All softlocks have been patched out!
UPDATED NPC AI
Originally, monsters would attack unrelentingly. I've updated MOST monsters to have a neutral buffer before attacking. They also back off a bit! Please note that this is not for every monster!
UPDATED BOSS FIGHTS
I've polished the boss fights to make them a little more interesting! One boss fight is completely different.
REMOVED HOUSE MUSIC TRANSITIONS
I've gotten a lot of great feedback on the music in the game. People weren't big fans of the house music transitions, so I've removed them from the game.
LESS TEXT FOR MINOR EVENTS
To ease the transition between Beyond the Mountains and its upcoming sequel, I've removed a lot of text from minor events, such as when you open a standard treasure chest or open a door. The removal of text creates a smoother game-play experience.
NO FALL DAMAGE
To make the game a bit easier, I've completely removed fall damage from the game.
REMOVAL OF THE DUMMY RING
The dummy ring has been removed from the game. It was causing too many weird glitches. There is a new section that replaces the dummy ring section.
RUNNING RING TOGGLE
The running ring has been switched from a timed event to a toggle.
LORE POLISH
Some events in-game are polished further to ensure a seamless transition to the upcoming sequel.
THANK YOU!
This final update should have a tiny asterisk by it, because I anticipate fixing a few glitches here and there. As always, please post any bugs and glitches you may find in the forums.
Thank you so much for playing my game! This was the first game I ever made. It took me four years to make. If you enjoyed it, help me out by leaving a review or telling your friends!
With this, I can finally shift my attention back to the upcoming sequel, which I estimate will be released in Q2 2025!
