Plan B: Terraform - Gaddy Games

v0.8 is a major update for the planet's environment. Enjoy the new world generation with vast oceans and container ships to cross them. Open paths with the new dynamite and terrain tools. Get a better overview of your industry with a new zoom that show the atmospheric currents and cloud simulation, and an enhanced and unified view. Visualize ground humidity and choose between the five available trees, each with their own temperature and humidity requirements.
Five musics have also been added, and the original soundtrack will be available in a few days (for $5).

I suggest to start a new world to enjoy the new generation, but you can continue your old save. However, it will add a lot of water. If you wish to avoid such change, you can activate the "v0.7.5" beta (in the "beta" menu of the steam properties of the game) to keep playing the old version.
Edit: if you have installed a bepinex mod, you might have to remove it, as it could make the loading freeze.

The game will have a 20% discount during the Summer Sale, and then its price will increase from $12 to $14. It was the same with v0.7 and will be the same with v0.9: the idea is that you pay only for what is already done, rather than for promises.

Major Improvements:
  • New world generation with larger ocean, better mountains shapes, improved city and mineral fields locations and size. And faster to generate.
  • Container ship! transport 336 containers.
  • New terrain modification items: Dynamite, Pile of dirt, Level and Smooth.
  • Dynamic clouds (fully visible in the new max zoom out view) that shows moving clouds, shows dark side of the planet with city and industry lights.
  • Unified enhanced view (keep Alt or Tab pressed) to show terrain altitude, ground humidity, highligted minerals.
  • Modding in Steam Workshop. Basic lua modding: add or modify items, recipes, levels. Change 3D models, textures, sounds and musics. Creative mod as mod example.
  • Palm trees, cactus and tropical trees. New life condition, new infos in description & tooltip
  • Five new musics.
Improvements:
  • Water, rain and evaporation simulation improved. Water appears more progressively.
  • Improved drag (dragging over forests, starting drag while building)
  • move minerals when using terrain modification tools on them, instead of destroying them
Balance:
  • if more than 0.5 water (50m), prevent building roads/rails and stop vehicles.
  • Much more water than before (to fill the large oceans)
  • Max minerals per hexagon increased from 450 to 800. Less minerals fields but biggest fields far away from cities (much more total minerals than before).
  • Forests life conditions heavy rebalance.
  • depot buildable when a bit of water (if not too deep)
  • MK3 depot moved from level 16 to 15.
  • landmark tower unlocked at level 3
Bugs fix:
  • Fixed bug that was changing items of depots
  • Fixed crash with depot & factories popup
  • Fixed artefacts in zoomed out view
  • Fixed some display issue with water in contact with dam walls.
  • Drones/container position at vehicles loading fixed
Minor:
  • Lot of tooltips or descriptions improved.
  • modify status bar infos (water in ground, temperature)
  • display info on viability when planting trees
  • big translation update from and to crowdin. Don't hesitate to help improving the translations!

HOTFIX on 2024-07-01 :

Plan B - v0.8.0 build 881 HOT FIX
  • Fixed loading freeze when a default mod was created, and fix issues when removing a mod
  • Fixed freeze with some corrupted containers dump items
  • Fixed some refresh of normal texture

How's the summer going?

New patch is here, bringing new content to the game!

It's Summer time (in the North Hemisphere at least) and the Summer Sale is here, so nothing more fitting than a trip back to the Beach to clean up some Malignant invasion!

The last challenges of the Beach area are now unlocked and ready to get the sought after Beach Completion, for those who like completing things. These Challenges keep the level of difficulty of the Beach, so they might look easier for those far into the game with the Cavern area, but the difficulty needs to be on par with how the Beach is.

Let's dive into the Patch Notes:

Patch Notes - v0.7.1

Areas
Beach
  • Unlocked the last 4 Stages of the area;
  • 3 new special bosses to fight, and one even comes with a twist;
  • A special stage that drops only gold that players can farm in if they need it;
  • New Materials to collect in these challenges.

Areas

  • New Elixirs;
  • New levels for the Pier.

General
  • New special Boss Battle Music! Every Boss fight will have the Boss Battle Music kick in after their entrance, to separate from the regular stage music. This is applied to all Bosses with entrance animations.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an issue where achievements would be granted to players without clearing the specified content;
  • Fixed some navigation issues while using the gamepad;
  • Fixed an issue with Chiselo when Sculpting Maneuver interacted with the Deity's Resemblance Marble version, as it would not complete the statue properly, locking the statue out of using it again;
  • Fixed a bug that wouldn't allow Theodore to throw C.A.L.A.M.I.T.Y.'s bombs when he finishes charging the skill;
  • Fixed an issue with an interaction between Theodore's C.A.L.A.M.I.T.Y. and Bomb Bag, as the stack effect wouldn't apply itself properly;
  • Fixed a bug that made it impossible for Theodore to throw a 2nd C.A.L.A.M.I.T.Y. bomb before the 1st one exploded;
  • Other bug fixes.

Next Steps
Now that the Beach is complete, we can continue to the next character, the 11th to join the roster, which will unlock more Stages of the Cavern area and further upgrades on the Village, with a new Field Material of the area and some new challenges to face.

Part of the 11th character is already designed and we will begin development of them in-game soon. We are hoping that there will be no delays with their implementation and we can bring the new content soon.

We will also request the localizations of the content for Mausolea that we need to implement in a few weeks, since there seems her content won't be changed drastically, and have them added as soon as we can. This process takes a while, so bear with us while this is being done.

Survivalist: Invisible Strain - Bob
Hello, I've got a new patch in publicbeta with a few small fixes, including one crash fix. Currently just trying to stamp on any remaining crash bugs so I can push the publicbeta build into main branch, so let me know if you see any more of those. Here's the patch list:
  • Fix for being able to see allies character screens (and therefore cancel/pause their roles) when they follow you into a building
  • Fix for feuding character continuing to hit their rival while they are saying the speech to stop the fight
  • Fix for achievement for recruiting a character being unlocked when you get a chicken
  • Fix for offscreen characters skipping over traps
  • Crash fix

EDIT - added another quick fix, so now it's v206.
  • Fix for crash when hitting the road with chickens for company
EDIT - and another small crash fix for a scenario that I think would only happen with mods, where the mod author changes a file name. That's v207.


What's this publicbeta thing?
v207 will be in the "publicbeta" branch for a while, before pushing it to the main game. If you want to try the latest features as they come out (and help test them!) it's a good idea to start using this branch. But keep in mind:
  • Because it's the bleeding edge it could be less stable
  • If you want to be able to play online co-op with someone you'll need to be on the same version as them
  • If you go back from the "publicbeta" branch to the main branch you may not be able to load savegames created on "publicbeta".
To use publicbeta, just right-click on Survivalist: Invisible Strain in your Steam library and go to Properties, then Betas and in the drop-down select "publicbeta".

Gameplay Adjustments

  • Weapon Balance: Balanced various weapons, with special attention to the Gauntlets and Hammer. Adjustments aim to improve effectiveness and ensure each weapon feels distinct and powerful.
  • Construct Companions Enhancement: Adjusted Construct Companions to hit harder and exhibit more aggressive behavior in combat.
  • Boss Balance Rework: Several bosses have been reworked to provide a more challenging experience, aligning their difficulty better with regular enemies.
  • Improved Block Responsiveness: The responsiveness of the block action has been enhanced, making parries more accurate and timing-dependent.
  • Boss Attack Fixes: Fixed issues where some boss attacks could be interrupted unexpectedly, causing behavioral inconsistencies.
