SENTRY - Gary

Hi everyone,

You can now test Major Update 1 ahead of its official release!

To gain access, you’ll need to switch to a beta branch – here’s how to do that:

  • Find SENTRY in your Steam library and right-click on it, selecting “Properties”
  • In the menu that pops up, choose “Betas”
  • There is a “Beta Participation” drop-down list, select “Beta Branch”
  • In your Library you should see “[betabranch]” appended to the game name
When you play the new version, the most important thing to consider is that while your profile saves will carry over (i.e. all your equipment you’ve unlocked thus far), your current escape run will not – so if you’re in the middle of a run and you don’t want to lose any new blueprints you haven’t banked, reach a gate and bank them before switching to the new version.

Because of the new campaign setup, once you test the Beta Branch please avoid going back to the old version, as when you return to the new one you’ll lose any ship or campaign unlocks in the latest version.

It’s generally good practice to back up your profile saves for situations like these just in case :)
You can find your save folder here: C:\Users\<YOURUSERNAME>\AppData\LocalLow\Fireblade Software\SENTRY\Saves\Steam

With those logistical details out the way, dive in and have fun!

We’d love to hear any feedback, particularly on the new additions. In order to not mix up beta branch feedback with the main game, we’ve created a new area on the Steam forums to post your beta branch comments: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1252680/discussions/0/

Thanks for your continued support! Once the new build has been put through its paces we’ll officially release it, along with a detailed list of what has changed.

DUCKSIDE - TinyBuild-Jay

Hello Everyone,

We've had an amazing three weeks on DUCKSIDE, thanks to the hard work of our development team and the incredible success of the Steam Next Fest. With over 200,000 ducks joining the flock and an unexpected meteor collision, we've now successfully wrapped up the second BETA for DUCKSIDE.

We want to extend our thanks to all of you who participated. Your feedback, suggestions, insights, and positivity have been invaluable in helping us improve, develop, and grow the game over the last few weeks. It has been a fantastic journey working with all of you once again, and we can't wait to see you all in game again soon!

And of course, with the culmination the beta, we thought now would be the perfect time to share some of our plans for the future of DUCKSIDE, so today we're going to detail some of the near future development goals

Nature/Environment Art Overhaul

We love nature, Ducks love nature, and we want to create world that both of us can (not so peacefully) co-exist in and enjoy! So with that in mind, we're currently exploring an overhaul of the natural environments on the DUCKSIDE Archipelago to both improve and build upon the visual aesthetic of the game alongside facilitating a wider range of gameplay experiences and play styles.

Something we're keen to avoid is going too realistic. The world of DUCKSIDE already has a lot of character and vibrancy, and that's something we want to maintain. Our goal instead is to flesh it out with more lush, diverse and immersive areas in keeping with the stylized look that DUCKSIDE is known for.

Below, we've shared the current art style, and a visualization of our concepts for improving the world, alongside some ideas and details about our reasoning and vision:

Trees:
  • Lusher and darker for better composition and separation from the ground.
  • Increased quantity, with birches for color contrast and younger trees for realism and diversity.

Grass and bushes:
  • More diverse grass to create a dynamic landscape.
  • Additional bushes to complement tree compositions, especially in forest areas.

Cliffs:
  • Minimalist texture with less tiling, contrasting nicely with green grass and dark water.
  • Rocky shores and interesting rock formations, including bridge-like shapes and tunnel-like holes for visual appeal.

Other:
  • Shores should be made of sand, dirt, or cliffs, not grass.
  • Additional adjustments are planned for further enhancement.

Base Defense Mechanics
Over the course of the beta we identified that base raids were both far too common, and far too easy for anyone with the adequate firepower or equipment due to a lack of defensive mechanisms being currently available. With that, the team have begun formulating ideas for further base defense systems, starting with turrets which we hope to have implemented ahead of the next public hands on of the game. This will ensure your base remains protected even when you're not logged in.

Resource Balance Overhaul
We are reworking how resources are gathered, spent, and valued in-game. Currently, resource prices are set around a base of 10, with items costing, for example, 15 or 40 units. We aim to adjust these prices, introducing a degree of inflation to provide greater flexibility in rewards and overall gameplay experience.

Expanded Clothing and Armor Options
Customisation is a request we see coming up a lot from our players, so we are expanding our crafting system to include trousers, in addition to jackets, with specific attributes that will further aid players in specific situations. The main goal here is to enhance customization and make crafting prices more meaningful and balanced.

Weapon Balance Adjustments
Nobody likes seeing every enemy kitted up with whatever weapon is dominating the "meta" at that particular point in time, so we are in the process of fine-tuning the balance of weapon damage. Some weapons will see an increase in power, while others will be adjusted downwards to ensure a fair and engaging combat experience and multiple viable options for combat engagements.

Potential New Weapons
If time permits, we plan to introduce new weapons to the game. The specific types of weapons are still under consideration, but they will be designed to enhance gameplay variety and excitement.

Anti-Cheat Measures
We are exploring alternate anti-cheat systems as we speak, with the aim being to provide a more secure and fair gaming environment for all players. No decisions have been made on this front, but we hope to come to a decision ahead of the next hands-on of the game for the public.

And more!
Obviously, there's much more than this in the pipeline, but these are some of our immediate focuses for the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more news on what to expect from the future of DUCKSIDE!

We've been hard at work finalizing our cozy exploration game over the past few months, and we're finally almost ready to welcome everybody to the world of Lettuce Village! We've spent two and a half years working on this game in our free time, and we're really proud of the little world we were able to create with a small team and no funding. We hope you love it as much as we do!

Halo Infinite - misplacedyank
I’ll cut straight to the chase – we are very excited to introduce Multi-Team via the Combat Workshop – effective immediately!

It has long been a favorite mode, perfect for smaller squads and a lot of chaos. It’s also a mode that has seen a lot of variations over time from teams of two, three, and four. It’s live right now so read up on what you can expect when you jump into matchmaking later!

Multi-Team Mayhem

It’s all Arena Multi-Team, all the time. Arena Multi-Team will feature four teams of two Spartans each (2v2v2v2) and will feature some variety in game play so here’s what you can expect as far as maps and modes go.

Arena Maps
  • Elevation Multi-Team
  • Forbidden Multi-Team
  • Behemoth Multi-Team
  • Cliffhanger Multi- Team
Arena Variations
  • Multi-Team: Crazy King
  • Multi-Team: Slayer
  • Multi-Team: Oddball
  • Multi-Team: Land Grab

Friend or Foe

In past versions of Multi-Team, each squad had their own designated color (Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, etc.) During this Combat Workshop, one of the main points of feedback we are interested in is how Halo Infinite’s friend vs foe detection system works when it’s friend vs all foes.

This means you will be able to tell who is on your team and all other teams will simply look like enemies to you and you won’t necessarily know which enemy you’ve come across.

Have thoughts? Be sure to follow-up and provide your feedback!

The Combat Workshop is your one-shop stop to check out work-in-progress maps, modes, and other new experiences. This playlist allows us to test out new modes, new features, new experiences, and get feedback at scale before taking that information back and iterating on it. From there, we can address issues and community feedback to get things ready for primetime matchmaking.

Check back later for the link to the survey, or follow the QR code that will appear in-game.

If you experience any technical issues, please be sure to report them to us by using the Halo Support site at https://aka.ms/HaloSupport.

Hop into matchmaking, play some Multi-Team, and check back later this week to give us your feedback!
