I hope you enjoyed reading through these! Anyway, an enormous "Thank you" to our community again. Chat with us on Discord, and let us know your most memorable Open Beta moment in the comments.
Fixed issue with CV occasionally biting on the run unintentionally. Fixed issue with Ladder Leagues not generating playoff teams properly. A few other minor draft and UI fixes.
Hey All, Once again, thank you to everyone who has been giving feedback and reporting bugs across Discord, the Steam forum and reviews. Many people on Discord have already been helping me find bugs and improve balance in this update.
0.1.2 includes a lot of balance changes, additional units, perks and maps. The Laboratory is the core meta progression system of survival mode and it will continue to evolve based on feedback and future content updates.
If you would like to take part in the beta testing I recommend backing up your "gameStats" folder (within C:\Users%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Stratagem Blue\From Glory To Goo) so that you can roll back your biomass, stratagem and unit selections if required.
As always, feel free to provide feedback and report any bugs you come across on Discord. Some of these changes are experimental so they're very much subject to change.
To access the Beta right click on From Glory To Goo in your Steam library and then click Properties -> Betas, and select "testing - Beta Branch". Note that this version may be unstable and you don't have to try it yet. I'm aiming to release it next week.
The Laboratory
The Laboratory introduces 10 new units and 25+ global perks (Stratagems) which can be unlocked by spending biomass or by completing specific maps.
New Human Units
These units are designed as alternatives to the core human units and not direct upgrades.
Frost Trooper - Replaces Trooper - Shots slow enemy units, but has reduced damage
Avenger - Replaces Reclaimed - Has increased melee damage and a small aoe attack. Reduced health
Grenadier - Replaces Mortar Team - Fires a volley of 3 small grenades over a wider area.
Liquifier - Replaces Flamer - Increased health and fires a poison cloud that reduces enemy armour.
Electro Cyborg - Replaces Cyborg - Has a chain lightning attack that will bounce off multiple targets
Support Drone - Replaces Skyranger - An unarmed drone that will heal/repair nearby units
Railgun Walker - Replaces Walker - Has a slow firing railgun that will deal damage to all enemies in a line
Viper - Replaces Tortoise - A mobile artillery gun that will fire a single shell long distances that on detonation will also slow enemies caught in its blast
Zapper - Replaces Slipstream - A heavily armoured slow moving flyer that releases a massive charge of electricity directly below it
Monolith replacement - TBA
Stratagems
25 stratagems are available to unlock and use. These provide boosts across any mission where you have them equipped. Unlock up to 3 slots to hold them.
New Maps
Aegis Valley - A valley full of resources with only one chokepoint for hordes to enter. An RFI cruiser will also assist by automatically blasting units that attack you and sending in drop pods. It will progressively get more powerful with time.
Anomaly Omega - Where have all the Goo gone? Race against the clock and build up on a map with no enemies above or below ground. One particularly powerful wave is on its way.
New Goo Units
Mind Core - Temporarily increases the attack speed of nearby goo when it attacks
Gunker - Can only target air units and your projectiles
Map System Changes
Bonus alien biomass and stratagem rewards are now available upon completing each map for the first time on any difficulty.
Added the ability to view and set the seed of procedurally generated maps and choose between the 6 "The Simulator" maps.
Anti Projectile Projectiles
This system enables certain units to target and shoot down projectiles. All projectiles have an avoidance chance. For example a Tortoise rocket will survive 10% of hits, a ship shell 50% and captain skills 100%. This is quite experimental and more units will be added that can interact with this system.
While this does give enemy hordes some ability to counter artillery in the late game. You can still overwhelm their air defence through sheer volume of fire, tactical aiming, your own air defence or other strategies.
New Building
SAM Launcher - Can only target enemy air units and projectiles. Has extremely long range.
QoL
Added player and enemy unit outline options including custom colours to improve readability
Added a toggle to change unit attack priority between elite enemies (All units excluding, hoppers, thrashers and androids) or the closest enemy
Your previously selected captain and ship will be remembered between games
Balance (Incomplete list and may change)
Research now works on a percentage scale instead of a flat reduction. Each research point reduces time, cost and population requirements by 1%
High activity events now also boost burrowing sensitivity. Burrowing sensitivity outside of high activity events has been reduced
Reduced the rate that flyers and other elites spawn close to your landing point
Slightly increased the number of environmental aliens overall
The Tribes have left The Oasis
Increased the health of many of the human units
Increased Cyborg shotgun damage - 8 -> 12
Gate health 350 -> 500
Wall health 220 -> 250
Sensor Array Power use 10 -> 7
Sensor Array Vision 1.35 -> 1.65
The Brain Commander will also increase the spawn rate of Mind Cores
The Sludge Commander will not appear on explorer difficulty
The Savant Captain is now unlocked at 130% score modifier to keep her in line with score modifier rebalancing
Bug Fixes (Some of these have been released in 0.1.1e)
Fixed hydroformers breaking when near geysers
Fixed units with low range not engaging if on patrol
Fixed sound breaking and a drop in frame rate if a very larger amount of status effect particles spawn in a short span of time (fire, hit etc)
Fixed "Construct" being visible when first opening the spaceship panel
Fixed ore and isotopes spawning on water ruins
Orbitors will no longer stay overlapped on each other
The tribal placement warning will now only display on click
Fixed some instances of the tooltip panel staying on
Fixed factories holding 11 instead of 10 resources
Fixed settings not saving if window is closed with Escape
Fixed the saw orbitor restoring health
Removed red squares underneath the map
Alien colonies are now removed from the minimap when destroyed
In 0.1.3 I'm planning to focus on adding another captain and more spaceships/modules as well as additional balancing and polishing of everything that has been added so far.
Then the focus will be on 0.2 which will add a new faction along with associated captains, units, buildings, mechanics and more!
After a lot of back and forth with different concept, ideas and implementations, Meteora's Mystic Merge v1.1 is finally here and available for everyone. The update will be free to download, as is the base game. But we did add a DLC that allows for faster progression and also to sort of support us to help develop and release future updates.
This update is probably the biggest one there ever will be, as with it the game finally can stand on it's own and isn't just a reskin of Suika.
What is new:
Progression and unlockable content
More playable characters (4)
Orb and Background skins
Gacha
Leaderboard
better abilities
more visual and sound effects
better and more detailed settings
lots of bug fixes and smaller improvements
Youtube trailer:
To progress in game you will have to be connected to the internet, but games you played offline will be counted as soon as you connect again.
Anyway, hope you will all enjoy it, happy mergin :)
It’s been about a week since we launched our first DLC: Soča Valley. Overall it seems like people are enjoying the rapids and a new huge environment! Special shoutout to all of you who’ve shared your feedback on Discord, Steam etc. However we have some things to improve on, mainly our communication with y’all. Hopefully you’ll consider this post a solid step in improving that. For anyone who just wants to read the patch notes, you can find them at the bottom.
First off, we wanted to surprise and excite you with the Soča Valley announcement but in the future we’ll make sure to better communicate what to expect leading up to the announcement (type of content, pricing, release date).
We’ve also alluded to this in the past but in order to be more transparent we’d like to announce that we’re working on multiplayer and have been for a while! This was our most requested feature and also the most challenging one, that’s why it’s been taking longer than we expected. Ideally we’d have shipped this as a big free update next to the DLC but unfortunately we couldn’t make that happen and didn’t want to hold back the DLC when it’s done and ready to go. We can’t give you a firm release date yet but we’ll try and keep you posted on our progress. This will be 2 player multiplayer with both players in their own kayak, at least for now, as adding more players will complicate things significantly and you’ve been waiting for a while 😉
We’re also in the early stages of development of another DLC environment! I Not much to share beyond that but it’s shaping up nicely and we look forward to showing it off in the future.
We’re also taking a critical look at our roadmap, its initial goal for us was mainly to collect feedback on ideas we had but it hasn’t provided much information to the community. We’d like to change that by reworking the roadmap to be more transparent and clear on what we’re working on. In the meantime keep sharing what you’d like to see as that’s still valuable information to us!
Kayak VR: Mirage
Added the option to turn off the new Upper Body feature (found under general settings)
Added experimental support for telemetry, looking forward to seeing this in action!
Fixed night sky in Costa Rica being too bright
Fixed players being able to go out of bounds
Fixed "spot the" achievements not unlocking
Fixed penguins behavior in Antarctica
Fixed missing start positions for Costa Rica in tour mode
Soča Valley
Tweaked LODs to reduce noticeable popping and increase visual quality
Tweaked daytime exposure to brighten up some dark areas
Fixed Tour mode routes getting stuck in some instances
Hello everyone! Its been a while the BBQ Simulator: The Squad get improvement & fix update. We listen our player feedbacks carefully and we got completely solid version right now for all of our 14 modes.
Also we got some awesome news! We want huge thanks to 125.000 + BBQ Lovers and our great community on Steam!
We listened to the feedback of our valuable players and made some improvements and many fix & boost and improvements for the BBQ Simulator: The Squad.
So what's waiting for you in this update:
- All game mode (14) mechanics improved for better game experience. - All game achievements re-designed and fixed (26 / 26). - Invite steam friend feature enabled. - UI upgrade and improvements both menu and in-game. - Native 4K UI support. - Widescreen support. - Active server and ping indicator on menu. - Network improvements for a better multiplayer experience (Selectable regions for better ping). - Upgraded tutorial system . - Bug Fixes.
The big update is here! Desktop Pals 2.0 has been published. This is the first major update and aims to address the many issues that popped up during the release while also adding some fun new content. This update contains the following improvements and changes:
2 New free Pals have been added! Pearl (a panda) and Duke (a dog) have been added as free new Pals! They are just as cute as the cats and are the first of many free pals which I hope to add in the coming updates.
The settings have undergone a huge overhaul. You can now easily reset them. You can change the volume of the game, and moving the pals around is much easier with the hold function.
The UI has also been improved. The pal menu is now dynamic, and you can scroll through the selection. This makes it easier to move through it without getting confused.
Many bugs have been fixed. This came with a complete overhaul of the code that I used (boring stuff), as the previous one was lazily written and terribly unreliable. This code overhaul will improve the overall stability of the game.
I would also like to discuss an upcoming price change. In 2 - 3 weeks, I will change the game from f2p to paid; I am currently planning to make it cost 1$. I feel it is now at a point where I can charge a small fee for it, allowing for more support and fewer troll players.
This gives those of you who are not interested in purchasing it a lot of time to play around with it without being cut off straight away. This price change is in line with my future plans for this game, which include a Steam Workshop.
As always, I am open to any questions or suggestions. Many thanks to everyone for the support; the game received amazing reviews so far!
