We appreciate everyone's patience as we have been rolling out a list of new features and improvements in preparation for the next steam test weekend (Likely mid July announcement soon). Feature work has been flying along and we believe the players will be pleasantly surprised with what we have in store for Steam Playtest #4.
For today let's talk about the upcoming founders packs
We wanted to take this time to outline the details of our upcoming founders packs and why contributing early is the best way to ensure the biggest piece of your investment is well spent.
Ugh Early access.. failed promises..
We may be a small 3 man team but between us we have sold in excess of 6 million copies of games such as Squad, Post Scriptum (squad 44), Starship troopers, Beyond the Wire and several other smaller titles. We know exactly what we need to do and how to get there. In addition, we are incredibly lucky to be surrounded by a large support team of Mods, QA and contractors numbering more than 30 people.
Play before you pay - As part of our commitment to consumers anyone is free to play the game on our Steam playtest weekends with no restrictions. You will know 100% where your money is going upfront and don't have to guess if you will enjoy the game.
More Revenue to the Developers! On a fully released steam game, once platform fees, credit card fees, publishing fees etc are calculated a team might expect to receive approx 40% of each dollar contributed. With direct pre-sales this number exceed 80%!
Support an independent development team One thing Exfil is not is owned by shareholders or investors and that makes.. A WORLD of difference. We set the timelines. We decide which way to take the game. We respond to feedback in person. This project means everything to us professionally and we will only die on our own sword.
That is worth investing in.
Depending on the supporter tier the below items will be received
Founders Steam Key - One founders Steam key all for you!
Founder Lobby Badge - Your name will be tagged in the Exfil lobby system as a founder
Founder Discord Rank - Discord access to a closed Founder channel with closer access to give feedback to developers and get your feedback and wishlist in the spotlight
Founders Arm Patch in Game - Your character in game will have the option to sport a founders badge on their soldier letting everyone know you were there at the beginning of it all.
Alpha Campaign Badge - Each in game biome will constitute a campaign in the game will have an exclusive wearable patch to commemorate those who served in that campaign.
Founders Credits - Get your name in the in game credits!
Pre-Steam Launch Event - All founders will be entitles to attend our one and only exclusive pre launch day event.
Friends Steam Keys - Several tiers include extra regular steam keys you can give to your friends or clanmates.
Tactical Mustache - Limited run Steam tradeable assets such as the "Tactical Mustache" can be added to your character and also traded with other gamers on steam. We plan to add more such items in the future.
Recruit Tier Donations - Investing at the officer Tier unlocks a very import service to the community as in addition to the items granted in the previous packs we will also donate (2) two founders "Recruit Tier" packages to our friends at Stackup.org or another fine veterans charity. They use these packages to give out to veteran and activity duty gamers and also to help drive charity events.
Have any questions? Please let us know!
We will follow up in the next few days with an overview of the features that we plan to include in Exfil and also to announce the next free steam playtest weekend!

From what we can see it's a multi-page spread on Underspace, complete with our updated artwork (I swear it still has that new capsule art smell). I haven't seen any other print magazines on Underspace, but if they exist, let me know so I can make a big deal about those too.
Anyway, here's what they have to say for themselves:
"This month PC Gamer delivers world-exclusive access to Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, the incredibly desired new expansion to the award-winning action RPG. To do this, PC Gamer flies to Japan, visits FromSoftware's Tokyo studio, interviews Elden Ring's legendary creator Hidetaka Miyazaki, and goes hands-on with Shadow of the Erdtree for more than seven hours. It's a mega scoop, and your ultimate guide to all things Shadow of the Erdtree.
"This issue is loaded with quality previews and reviews, too, including going hands-on with the gore-filled new shooter, Killing Floor 3, dark co-op tactical survival game, The Forever Winter, innovative indie studio title, Screenbound, as well as Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown, Underspace, and Sonokuni. Meanwhile, over in this issue's reviews section, the PC Gamer team delivers authoritative verdicts on dramatic space opera RTS, Homeworld 3, as well as MotoGP 24, V Rising, Hellbade 2: Senua's Saga, Indika, and Men of War II, among other games. Enjoy the issue!"
The alpha build is in progress! It's been a lot of work, and the game's evolved significantly since we started this project years ago. Right now, our script has several thousand lines of dialogue! The first prototype from 2 years ago took just an hour to complete, which led us to revamp the script and game, shifting from Metroidvania to RPG. Now, the dialogue alone for the main story takes 4 hours to go through.
We've got about 50 levels, ranging from small caves to massive, 3D cruise ships you can explore inside and out. Plus, we have 50 different enemies and 14 bosses!
All this shows how much the game has grown, but we’re done! No more expanding, just polishing and fixing bugs from here on out.
Here’s what’s coming up...
First, we're planning a free demo set halfway through the game to give players a taste of combat, exploration, and optional side content!
There won’t be early access. This is really important to me and won't change. We stand by our design choices, and Miuratale has been patiently and carefully crafted, tested, and built to provide the best experience possible. We want new players to get the complete, polished experience right from the start.
And finally, we’ll also have a free major update post-release that will expand on the story, world map, and combat!
I hope you understand the delay. I don’t want to release this game until it’s fully finished, and while I think it’ll be done this year, it won't be finished.
To wrap up, I wanted to share a work-in-progress picture of the game's Hub area! The Crystal Palace is one of several areas you can fully explore in 3D using simplified mouse controls and is home to the game's side content!
