Greetings Exiles,

Today, we come bearing big news! As you know, Conan Exiles is always evolving, and so is the way our team develops it. We have several important topics to cover:

  • Today’s new update
  • New content update structure
  • No Battle Pass from Next Age and onwards
New Update: Bounty Hunting Event & DBNO

The Bounty Hunting Event has returned, with a few improvements and new rewards. Across the Exiled Lands you will now find camps of people dedicated to Mek-Kamoses, a powerful sorcerer who will suffer no new upstarts.

Track down the nascent sorcerers and bring them back to earn unique new rewards. A living sorcerer is worth most, but their skull will also do. For the return of this event, new rewards have been added, including the Khitan Slaver Outfit, and a shiny new truncheon and bindings to bring those sorcerers back in one piece.


Down But Not Out (DBNO) has arrived! Thanks to this long-awaited feature, your thralls will no longer permanently die when their health is depleted. Instead, they will enter a downed state, during which you can resurrect them. But beware, for if your thrall is downed three times within a certain window, it will die for good. Make sure to keep them out of trouble until these “strikes” expire.

This update is the first of its kind, one which allows us to add content which did not make it into the major Chapter updates.


New Structure and Tempo for Content Updates

Since the beginning of the Age of Sorcery, and for most of the Age of War, we have been releasing one Chapter update more or less every three months. This was a new challenge for us, and we have learned a lot (and released a LOT).

For one, this cadence is not quite our sweet spot; where we are completely happy with the quality, the quantity, and the type of content we are releasing.

To find this sweet spot, we’re extending Chapter updates to roughly every six months, and adding a smaller update between each. Today’s update is the first of these.


We believe this will give us the time we want to fully flesh out the Chapter updates, along with the opportunity to add smaller updates between, including things such as new and returning events (with cosmetic rewards), quality of life improvements, and bug fixes.

No Battle Pass in the Next Age

As the nature of Conan Exiles and its development cycle has evolved, we have over time reached the conclusion that the time put into creating a new and engaging Battle Pass for each Chapter can be better spent spread across several other areas of development. These include both the Chapter content, and now the updates between as well, with various activities and rewards.

In short, a part of the work previously put into the Battle Pass will now be felt in free content updates and rewards overall.

Summing up, and The Next Age

To sum everything up:

  • Future Chapter updates will release about every six months.
  • Smaller content updates will release between Chapters.
  • The Next Age will not have a Battle Pass. Instead, it will focus on Chapters with smaller content updates between Chapter releases, and the Bazaar will continue with new items and bundles. The current Battle Pass will remain active until the next Age begins.

The team is progressing well on the next Age, and while we do not have a release date just yet, we can’t wait to share more info with you all in August. We will be bringing some brand new major features which have a ton of potential to expand upon for future updates, and which integrate well with existing features added in the Age of War, making the world feel even more alive and cohesive.

Features
DBNO (Down But Not Out)
  • On taking fatal damage, followers (excluding golems) will no longer immediately die! They will instead fall to the ground and begin to bleed out. Their health bar will turn gray and deplete over time.
  • Interacting with allied followers that are bleeding out will perform a rallying cry that revives them and allows them to return to the battle. If you do not revive them before they bleed out, the follower will die.
    • Pressing interact will cause revived followers to return to their previous behavior
    • Holding interact will cause revived followers to follow you when they are revived
    • If you take damage while performing a rallying cry, the action is interrupted and must be started again.
    • Rallying cries will revive all followers in a 15 meter radius around the revive target
    • Damage taken while bleeding out will reduce the remaining bleed out Health
  • Each time a follower begins bleeding out they will accrue a "Strike"
    • If a follower has three strikes, they will die the next time their health is depleted.
    • Strikes expire simultaneously after 15 minutes
    • Expiration time is refreshed to the maximum duration when strikes are applied
  • Functionality can be enabled and disabled through server settings.

Event - Bounty Hunting
Bounty Hunting has returned to the Exiled Lands and Isle of Siptah with several new improvements and rewards. Apprehend sorcerers and bring them back for a bounty - dead or alive. The Khitan Bounty Hunters have a special interest in both live specimens and sorcerous heads. Sorcerers can be found in any human camp - prepare for a fight!

  • The Tiger's Truncheon
  • Dead Woman's Tresses
  • Sundered Manacles

  • Khitan Exile's Tribute Basin
Fixes
  • Additional Bounty Hunter representatives in camps.

The Bazaar
The Bazaar has received a new shipment of new items - including the Towers of Yamatai, placeables, weapons, and armors. Build your own mystical observatory with the Celestial Scholar Bundle or craft a base from the wreckage with the Barachan Castaway Bundle.

Fixes and Tweaks:
  • Adjusted inconsistent stats on Gurnakhi Saddles
  • Added missing Epic version entitlement for Vendhyan Katar small bundle
  • Fixed issue where Lotus emblem icon does not unlock upon purchasing

General Fixes and Tweaks
  • Item stacks now split successfully inside of work benches.
  • Items in workbenches now display information on first interact.

First of all, thank you all for continuing to be very supportive of the project and creating such a fantastic community.

I have never asked the community for anything, but this time I would value that if you like this massive update to the game, please contribute a positive review of the game. It will help keep me motivated to do such big updates that take many months and hard work to complete.

Below is the list with all the content of this update(Some changes are summarized below, due to the large number of changes that have been made):

New features/content:
  • Rework of all civilizations to make them much more asymmetric.
  • Role system for weapons (each weapon has bonuses against certain types of units, increasing the strategic aspect).
  • Added optimization to the game: about 10% performance increase(depends of user PC).
  • Added time cost indicator for all objects that require time for their production or construction (Buildings, units, researches, etc...).
  • New sorting system in the selection of units, now grouped in a more intuitive and easy to control by the player.
  • New features for the special buildings of each civilization.
  • Rework of the wonders of each civilization and new bonuses or abilities in each one.
  • Replaced researchable skills for some infantry units in each civilization by more useful ones.
  • Replaced some special skills in certain special units with more useful ones.
  • Added memory protection system for when using numerous spells simultaneously (Fixes a great number of crashes).
  • Added penalty effect on ranged units when attacked by a melee unit.
  • New AI in many missions of the Spartan, Macedonian and Roman campaigns.
  • Optimization improvements for numerous missions of the Spartan and Macedonian campaigns.
  • New features in all capturable buildings in the Conquest/Domination game mode.
  • Optimization in some maps of the Conquest/Domination game mode.
  • AI improvements and balance on all difficulties.
  • Spells now do not affect units that were previously affected and should not (for example units that are not controlled by any player).
  • Added Cloak for the Princep unit of Republican Rome.
  • Updated the font of some dialogues and messages with a more modern and beautiful one.
  • Added invisibility effect on Spartan arena special units when they activate their ghost attack ability.
  • Improved mercenary units in some Conquest/Domination game mode maps.
  • Better environment in some missions of the Spartan and Macedonian Campaigns.
  • Improvements in the environment of some maps in the Conquest/Domination game mode.
  • Camera improvements in some missions of the Spartan and Macedonian Campaigns.
  • Translation improvements in some languages.

Bug/Error Correction:
  • Fixed many bugs in all the missions of the Spartan, Macedonian and Roman campaigns.
  • Fixed bugs that caused occasional crashes when loading a saved game.
  • Fixed critical bug that forced to restart the game after each multiplayer game to avoid the desync.
  • Fixed all desync triggers for Spartan and Macedonian civilizations (the rest of civilizations are still being worked on).
  • Fixed AI not working for some players in some Missions in the Spartan, Macedonian and Roman campaigns.
  • Fixed bug that caused the overlapping of the penalty suffered by ranged units when attacked by a melee unit that caused their damage to be zero when attacked by numerous melee units.
  • Fixed a bug in the Republican Roman heavy shield, which was not saved when the unit was throwing torches.
  • Fixed bug in which the flags of settlements healed neutral units.

Balance:
  • Balance of the statistics of all weapons and prices of the weapons and their upgrades.
  • Balance in all missions of the Spartan, Macedonian and Roman campaigns.
  • Reduced damage of fire arrows to buildings and fortifications.
  • Balance for the special units of each civilization.
  • Balanced numerous spells.
