We're coming out of cyberspace (where there's a fierce battle going on, including invisible and replicating viruses trying to corrupt our cyber core) to let you know that the full version of HexaScape: Cyber Defense will be released on Thursday, June 20th at 10am CEST!
You will receive a 10% discount on the base price of $14.99 for the release. And you can even play Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree during the HexaScape breaks later in the week, isn't that wonderful? 😉!
What's next?
The roadmap for the next update has it all! We'll present it to you on Thursday. What happens after that is up to you - your feedback will determine what features we tackle in the next updates.
Today we want to give you some glimpse on what was on our minds when coming with design of “Before Exit” and present more upcoming content!
Everyone Out, now!
As a studio, we are working fully stationary, directly from the office. Our working hours are very flexible, so when it comes to closing the office, there is no permanent person who holds this duty. Our place is always closed by the last person to leave. That forced us to prepare a special procedure of “closing the office”, where the last person has to check if every device is switched off, windows are properly closed, the water dispenser is disconnected from the socket and so on. Of course, no one is getting fired for forgetting one or two things, but BETTER REMEMBER TO DO THAT!
That idea gave a spark to the prototype of the game that you all see today. It just felt like a basic gameplay loop - after all the hard work of the day there is only one last checklist to complete, and “That’s it!”. But did you remember about closing up the window in the conference room? Or turn the keyhole of the door? Those are feelings that come back to you every time, and I’m sure that you all know how it feels. I bet every one of you who read this has had to go back to their front door at least once to make sure it's locked properly!
So that’s the feeling we want to replicate in our game, this uncertainty when leaving the location. Fear of consequences. Relief when all went well.
Fixed a bug where the game would crash after trying to refuel/repair when the player had exactly the same amount of money as the cost of refueling/repairing;
The issues with navigation when using the gamepad or keyboard in Special upgrades, inventory, shop, and Processing facility menus have been resolved;
An issue with one of Mr. Thompson's dialogue lines at level 4 not displaying correctly has been fixed;
Extremely high values for "Biggest one-time sale" in the statistics menu now display correctly.;
A bug where uranium continued to damage the player after using a Resource beacon has been fixed;
Uranium no longer damages the player when "No damage sources" is selected for Custom difficulty. It is also now impossible to obtain the achievement "Uranium Fever" when this option is selected;
Stalactites no longer get stuck on the top of the player's mech when "No damage sources" is selected for Custom difficulty;
LEVEL 7 SPOILER WARNING: Fixed a bug that prevented ID chips from appearing on the radar;
LEVEL 7 SPOILER WARNING: A bug was fixed where Nathaniel Forge's dialogue wouldn't appear when using radio. This prevented players from getting the "People's Person" achievement. If you called every character in every location and didn't get the achievement, go back to level 7 (also known as the bunker / lab / destroyed research facility) and call Nathaniel Forge.
Other changes:
Removed the sound of money when mining with the Ore Dust Extraction Module installed;
LEVELS 7 AND 8 SPOILER WARNING: Added "invincibility frames" after getting electrocuted by charge stations and power cores to avoid soft locks. These "invincibility frames" do not protect from damage, but prevent losing control of your mech.
