DIE IN THE DUNGEON DEMO IS HERE

Surprise! Yeah, that's right—an early version of the demo just launched!

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2077710

We are ready to introduce the map system, new sets of dice, relics, bosses and lots of new tactics and builds. And you can try them right now!

What's new?

New Dice
This version of the game comes with a new addition to the dice family: the D4, the little brother of the D6!

D4 will give you more predictability in your rolls, but their values will be generally lower than other dice shapes. Find the balance between gaining power quickly and maximizing your potential!

And of course, there are new types of dice! Try to find them in the demo, there's a sneak peak of some right above.

New System: Map and Area I
This is the main innovation of this demo - a map that allows you to choose your next encounter. Different tiles will give you the opportunity to redistribute dice face values, rest, trade, or get into an event that will make you stronger!

Controller Support (Available at Steam Next Fest)
In a few days, we will show you the implementation of controller support. We will add it on ...wait, who are these guys?

We hope you enjoy the demo as much as we enjoyed making it. And as always, if you know someone who might enjoy the game, be sure to share it with them! Thank you!

We will be waiting for you at Steam Next Fest!

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2077710

May your dice rolls be good.

Primal Carnage: Extinction - dinosauriac
Our latest community art contest concluded recently, now we're unveiling the winners!

This time the theme was Spring Chickens, featuring the Oviraptor and/or Novaraptor in springtime. There was a range of styles and vibes in the pieces submitted, the community is full of artists so it's always fun to see what you guys come up with!

We'll be running more contests later this year, but let's quit stalling and get to the good stuff...

Grand Prizes:

WINNER Third Place:
(BadPlague)

We really like this one, even if the vibe feels more autmnal to us than spring. The quality of the actual drawing and wonderful use of lighting still makes it an excellent piece.

WINNER Second Place:
(Chillonia)

A lovely serene scene of two vicious predators just relaxing in the forest. The flowers are bursting with colour and alive with wildlife, really hitting the sprintime theme.

WINNER First Place:
(bullsh*t101)

You couldn't get much greener if you tried, but the overall feeling of a jungle in spring is really nice and the red flowers really pop against the sea of greens.

The dinosaurs in the scene blend with their surroundings beautifully and the composition is superb, with some actual chicken-sized compys thrown in for good measure - this one has the honour of top prize in the Spring Chickens art contest!

Honorable Mentions:

It's always hard narrowing things down to find the overall winners, here are a few we also really loved but didn't quite make it into the grand prize category...

(WhatTheShrimp)
A raptor taking a nice spring stroll through the undergrowth gets a little surprise!

(Domstrya)
Novaraptor seems to be after those eggs... which are why we couldn't quite justify this as a winner. While the colours are beautiful, the multi-tone clutch of eggs is just a tad too Easter-y.

(ShamroknRoll)
A last minute entry, this one again doesn't quite hit the spring theme, but is a great depiction of a bearded feathered nova.

(BBQ)
Chonky birb meets butterfly. Adorable!

Congrats to all who took part!

We'll be reaching out to the grand prize winners to arrange their rewards soon! And if you missed this contest, keep an eye out for future competitions over on Discord...

Hey everyone, done a bit of work over the last week getting the last few finishing touches and polish into the game. Here's the notes

Headlines!
  • The game is now fully translated into Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean and Simplified Chinese!
  • Trading has been reworked so its easy to see all cards, and all selected cards, at once.

Game
  • Removed the coin bonus for unflipped cards, increased coins from winning battles
  • Removed 'Doesnt use a card play' from the Critter/Element energy cards, Double Critter Energy and Triple Rainbow Energy (the rare ones)
  • Any Critter added to the battle deck requires 6 skill cards, removing needing only 3 skill cards if a critter of that element is already in the deck
  • Basic attack cards reverted to no longer give energy
  • When editing the battle deck, the quantity of cards will increase and decrease as they're added/removed from the deck
  • The same applies to trading
  • When trading the value on the card now updates to its actual value in the trade, instead of its base value from its rarity
  • Wild Critter battles will now have additional critters in act 2 and 3, though you'll still only get the Critter shown on the map
  • Trainers in Act 1 will increase in power 50% of the way through, instead of 66%
  • Special Trainers and the Boss in Act 1 will now use 3 skill cards per turn instead of 2
  • Critters will now jump around when using skills

  • Drill increased from ignoring 2 defence to 4
  • All Aqua cards have their inflicted soak lowered
  • Quick Shock increased from 2 to 4 shock
  • Baaroola heal on hit reduced from 3 to 2
  • Corydusty stats changed. Normal Hp-2(42), Def +1 (5). Hybrid HP -2(38), Def +1(4)
  • Moltin Ability changed from every 3 turns, to battle start/5th turn
  • Solol Hybrid HP-2(30) Def+1(4)

Bugs
  • Fixed the tooltips in battle not appearing near the mouse when in anything other than 1920x1080
  • Fixed the critters you get offered in swaps not being affected by your rarity chance
  • Fixed stickers that increase hand size
  • Fixed the skill cards that have a secondary element of Rainbow to be used by everyone.
  • Fixed the rival not using his starters evolutions in act 2 onwards (demo only issue)
  • Fixed the battle deck removing the first instance of a skill/sticker card instead of the one clicked
  • Hopefully fixed the issue where the hand cards dont snap to the critter when dragged
  • Fixed not having skill cards removed in battle when no one could use them
  • Fixed Critters being able to attack once defeated by shock
  • Fixed hand cards not resetting their text if you cancel choosing energy for them
