BUG is one of the local fauna living in numerous caves on Drake, causing many problems for the miners and other colonists. Some developers from Kayden City created an arcade game where you need to smash as many bugs as you can.

Gameplay
  • In Wipeout, abilities are now persistent. You now select which ability you want to use for the rest of the match when you pick a suit, the next time you pick the same suit you will get the same ability as before.
  • Reduced the amount of currency gained when capturing rewards from 150 to 100.
  • Reduced the amount of currency awarded per round. Base amount reduced from 400 to 300. The additional currency added to the base amount each new round was reduced from 200 to 50.
  • Suit selection is now given on every death in the Warmup mode even when waiting for more players.
  • Partially fixed an issue with Leap Frontal Shield causing you to be able to shoot during truce time (before a Wipeout round had started).
  • Fixed an issue where receiving the Healing Orb two rounds in a row would cause you to be able to shoot during truce time.
  • Fixed an issue where players joining an ongoing custom lobby match would not receive a suit.
Servers and stability
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when using the teleport to friend gadget.
  • Fixed a crash that could happen when launching a map.
Visual changes
  • Fixed an issue with the impact particles of the Frontal Shield upgrade for the Leap ability loading incorrectly.
Audio
  • Fixed healing abilities triggering the hit sounds.

Exciting news, Angels! We are on the brink of releasing a new build packed with improvements and thrilling new features. This build holds special significance as it marks our first-ever Open Alpha release.

While we initially aimed to catch Steam Next Fest for the Open Alpha release, our commitment to perfection means we are taking a bit more time to ensure everything is just right.

Let’s dive into what’s coming with the new build!

Optimization

We know optimization was one of the biggest issues we faced in the past. The good news is that we’ve managed to significantly optimize the game. While optimization is an ongoing process and we aren’t claiming the game is in a perfect state, our new demo will be substantially more performant than the previous live build.

Our minimum spec is now Nvidia GTX 1060, achieving 30+ FPS at 1080p resolution, even with Lumen on. Depending on your PC configuration, you might see a 200–250% FPS increase with the next update!

Even better, if you have an Nvidia GPU with RTX cores, enabling DLSS will boost your FPS further.

Play Against AI!

The first iteration of our PvE game modes featuring single-player and co-op against AI is also coming with the next build. You no longer need to wait for other players to play Angelic. Even better, now you can team up with your friends against AI.

Our AI will continuously improve and have deep learning abilities, meaning it will learn, adapt, and improve over time. Initially, though, expect an AI that is challenging but not perfect.

Please keep in mind PvE game modes have different rules than standard PvP Raid game modes:

  • AI player(s) will always be defenders.
  • Domination victory type is disabled, so you need to either capture Thundershark or annihilate AI teams before the time runs out.
  • Tactical victory is also disabled, so if you cannot defeat AI before the turn limit hits, you lose.
  • Satellite dishes are also disabled, meaning you cannot capture the enemy team’s satellite dish to temporarily disable their hero deployment.
  • AI team will start by owning 2 out of 3 energy stations, plus some units (including Anzu Tank in Tempest Dam and Cloud Defender gun in Angel Nest maps).


Select Play against AI from the Game Mode menu. Play alone (1vE) or co-op with your friends (2vE)!

It’s already fun to play against AI, and just wait until our deep learning AI gets ready — it will be quite hard to defeat then! (We will lower some of the current advantages provided to AI in the future.)

Player Progression, Hero Unlocking and Starter Pack Heroes

We now have a player progression mechanism that lets you level up and obtain rewards, the most important being the ability to unlock new heroes. During the closed beta cycles, all heroes were enabled for testing purposes. However, starting with the entire roster can be confusing and overwhelming for new players. Now you will start with Phoenix (Commando), Xander (Tank), and Seliné (Support/Supermedic).

You will have one initial hero unlock. You can unlock any hero, and afterwards, you need to level up and obtain “angel shards.” When you combine 4 shards, you get one hero unlock.

Please note we will also implement a hero leveling mechanism, allowing your heroes to level up and gain additional skills and abilities. This feature will arrive at a later date.

Tutorials

One of the most demanded features: a combat tutorial. We implemented a sandbox tutorial mode that teaches you the basics of combat without boring you and lets you test every hero freely, even if you haven’t unlocked them.

Angelverse Account System Overhaul

We are moving Angelverse accounts to another infrastructure so players from China can also access the game. We will be adding new features like website sync and fixing known issues like games not being registered to your accounts, etc.

How to Access the New Build and When It’s Coming Out

We are hoping to catch Steam Next Fest, but if we can’t make it, a possible delay won’t be too long. Expect the new build to be playable in a couple of weeks!

We are planning to organize tournaments to celebrate the new build and might make it available for everyone for a limited time. This will essentially be our first public launch, with details to be announced later. Please keep in mind that for the full open beta, we are still aiming for mid-August, if not later.

Hotfix 10 (v11.05.4)
(July 3)

Classic-only balance:
- Reverted previous hotfix where all summoned units' decay time was decreased
- Crabling & Pincer decay time now scales inversely with number of units alive; this significantly nerfs Crab spam/overbuilding without hurting the standard usage
- Wave 21+ Indomitable: Double stacks --> Triple stacks

The goal of these changes is to reduce lag and crashing in Classic. We have other changes planned next patch for Crab Warlock from a game balance perspective.

Hotfix 9 (v11.05.3)
(June 27)

Crab Warlock
- Synergy with mana effects reduced by 17%

Starcaller
- Mana regeneration reduced by 7%

Froggos
- No longer decay
- Damage: 30 → 29
- Bounty: 6 → 5

These changes reward players for upgrading from Crab Warlock to Crabomancer.

Classic-only
- Summon decay time (seconds): 20 --> 30

Partially reverting the previous hotfix, since the above changes should do the job better.
