We’re excited to announce that Retro Drive: Revamped is coming to Kickstarter! Our goal is to offer you, our loyal community, a selection of rewards for supporting us on this wonderful journey, while also boosting the visibility of Retro Drive: Revamped.
We want to emphasise that Retro Drive: Revamped will be released regardless of the outcome. Any successes that the Kickstarter accomplishes will be used, solely, to strengthen the launch further and help with post-launch feature updates.
A range of rewards and limited edition merchandise will be available across Kickstarter’s backer tiers for you to enjoy! Some ideas we’re planning are:
In-game cars and visual effects
Retro Drive T-shirt
Retro Drive playing cards
Car model sets
Got a reward idea? Tell us in the comments 👍
A new demo will be also released for the community to enjoy with the launch of the Kickstarter campaign! It will showcase the new and improved visuals along with some fancy gameplay updates that we hope you’ll love as much as we do.
Defeat designated opponents in the game to collect points and claim milestone tickets.
Use nightmare tickets to enter nightmare locations and defeat cursed opponents with the Flameborne at the end, who drops valuable rewards including the Nightmare shard.
Obtain the Nightmare shard to create a Nightmare Boss Ticket, allowing you to discover an even fiercer version of the Cursed Flameborne!
All this and more awaits you in the current event, so don't delay and join it now!
The entrance to the location is in the Event Hub located next to the marketplace.
In my last devlog, I discussed non-combat support personnel that you could recruit for your cause. This devlog will focus on combat companions/party members. These are allies you can recruit to join you on missions if you choose, or you can opt to go it alone. There might be some people that want to murder hobo everyone in the game, including potential companions. Yes, there's even room for serial killers in Sector Unknown.
Companions in your party contribute their skills to relevant checks. For instance, if your Computers skill is 20 and you have a companion with a Computers skill of 30, their higher skill will be used instead. This allows for more in-depth party customization and planning. I am currently experimenting with the system to ensure it functions well, and so far, it seems promising.
Party members also bring their own dialogue and stories, some more detailed than others. Additionally, not all party members are guaranteed to be recruitable. Some may be hidden well and may not be recruitable unless you choose the right dialogue options or meet a particular skill level (more on skills in a future update). Companions can come from the most unlikely places. For example, you might encounter a hostile Star Frontier guard whom you'd typically consider a threat, but there could be an opportunity to recruit them later in the story.
I'm also considering whether to implement a reputation system for each companion, similar to the dynamics in the old Baldur's Gate games, where companions could leave if you pissed them off. It wouldn't be difficult to implement and might add an interesting layer to the game. I'm open to any thoughts on this.
We know it's been a quiet few months since our last update in February, and we sincerely appreciate your patience. Behind the scenes, we've been tirelessly sharpening our claws and fluffing our fur for something big. We’re thrilled to announce that an updated demo of Monster Run will be released next Wednesday, June 12th!

Dive into an even more thrilling adventure with this demo, which packs a punch with its plethora of new features:

We hope you are all excited for the game release on June 7, 2024! We wanted to take a moment to provide tips on how to optimize your gameplay experience. Our goal is to highlight all the new questions that bodycam brings and to provide you with our answers!
PERFORMANCE OPTIMIZATION
The game performs better than you might expect. If you have any doubts, please check the minimum requirements on Steam or simply ask our community on Discord, who can give you an approximate idea of the FPS you can expect!
For the best gaming experience, you might need to adjust some settings, especially if you encounter FPS drops or motion sickness. Here are some tips:
➡️ FPS Issues and FSR/DLSS Settings: To improve your frame rate, consider enabling FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR). This feature can significantly boost your FPS without sacrificing too much visual quality. To enable FSR: 1. Go to Settings > Graphics. 2. Enable FSR and adjust the level according to your preference.
Additionally, you can enable FSR Frame Generation, which can greatly increase your FPS: 1. Go to Settings > Graphics. 2. Enable FSR Frame Generation to benefit from higher frame rates.
➡️ Lower Graphics: 1. Go to Settings > Graphics. 2. Put in HIGH (except motion blur)
DO NOT TOUCH ANY OTHER SETTINGS YOU DONT KNOW
We are also working on integrating NVIDIA DLSS, which will be available soon to further enhance your gaming performance. Keep an eye out for this update!
POTENTIAL MOTION SICKNESS
We have noticed that some players might experience motion sickness while watching videos of the game. HOWEVER, when playing, this is significantly reduced as you control your character and are actively engaged in the action. Therefore, very few players actually need to activate the following settings:
➡️ Camera Sensitivity: Lower the camera sensitivity to reduce rapid movements. ➡️ Camera Shake: Turn off camera shake effects in the Settings menu. ➡️ Lean Settings: Adjusting the lean settings to improve your comfort while playing: Toggle vs. Hold Lean: Choose between toggle or hold for leaning, based on your preference, in the Settings > Controls menu.
We hope these tips help enhance your gaming experience. Your comfort and enjoyment are our top priorities!
