Hello Paxians!

We’ve said it before: Pax Dei will only exist with the support of its players. From the game's reveal to the formation of our early group of supporters on Discord or the two public Alpha tests we ran in the past few months, Pax Dei’s story has been one of community. Today, we’re inviting you to embark with us on the next step of the journey.


Pax Dei will enter Early Access on June 18th. The game is still in Alpha, heavily in development, and not yet feature-complete (as we write this, our teams are furiously making fixes and improvements based on the feedback of the recent public test). We also reached the point where we need to see it live to keep developing it.

Help us build the virtual world you can inhabit for years to come. Your feedback during Early Access will be invaluable in shaping the final game. We’ll also reinvest the revenue from Early Access into making the game better and bigger. Your support doesn't just keep the lights on; it fuels our passion to create a vibrant, warm, and living world.


We will be back in the coming days with more details about the game's state, our roadmap for Early Access, and some early thoughts about what the first big update will focus on.

And before that, head’s up! We are planning an event in partnership with some of our favorite content creators. It’s coming before too long very (very!) soon. Stay tuned!

Geras
  • Bulldozer (Back Punch, Front Punch, Back Punch) is now considered airborne when Geras is visually off the ground
  • During Slab Returnal (Towards + Front Punch, Back Punch, Front Punch + Front Kick) both characters are considered airborne when the attack hits until they land on the ground
  • During Back Throw both characters are considered airborne when Geras hops in the air
  • Fixed issue in Practice Mode where repeatedly performing special moves over a really long period of time could cause the game to become unresponsive
Havik
  • Neoplasm & Enhanced Neoplasm are no longer destroyed if he is interrupted by his own Kameo
Kenshi
  • Ancestral Guard is now considered airborne when Kenshi is visually off the ground
Kung Lao
  • Human Weapon (Away + Back Punch, Back Kick) is now considered airborne when Kung Lao is visually off the ground
  • Get Back (Back Kick, Back Kick) is now considered airborne when Kung Lao is visually off the ground

Songs of Silence - yumashi
We are so proud to present the first playable version of Songs of Silence in Early Access! It’s been a long road, we've been working on this game for 4 years now, but our journey doesn’t end here - over the next few months we’re going to be fine-tuning everything about the game, adding new features, balancing mechanics and incorporating your feedback before the V 1.0 release in early Autumn. Until then, expect the occasional hiccup as we put the last few wires into place behind the scenes - you can find a mostly complete list of known issues below, as well as the roadmap for our development focus.

Whilst we’re managing expectations, please do remember that we are a relatively small team and whilst we’re going to be working as hard as we can over the next months, there may be times when we fall behind schedule or have to prioritise certain fixes over others. We’ll obviously try and minimise this, but please bear with us in these final stages - we want to get this right for you. We’d also love to hear your feedback over the course of the Early Access period - you can submit bugs here and vote for which feature you’d like us to develop next here!



ROADMAP:



KNOWN ISSUES:
  • AI Behavior: The AI sometimes does not act optimally, such as preferring to recruit units over building their base or being too defensive or aggressive.
  • Movement: The movement system can be overly restrictive, requiring manual navigation around objects on the world map.
  • Multiplayer: If you disconnect due to a connection loss, it is recommended to let the game host reload the game from the last turn save and rejoin via the lobby. Otherwise you will be replaced by AI.
  • Tooltips & UI: Minor UI glitches may occur, such as tooltips overlapping or not updating correctly when reviving units.
  • Map Overview Screen: Small visual glitches may appear on the overview map screen, particularly when observing AI behaviour or inspecting.
  • Battle: There can be minor inconsistencies in combat, such as units getting blocked by others or unit formations mirroring incorrectly during an enemy's turn. Small issues might also arise when stacking multiple unit effects.
  • Translations: You may encounter smaller translation issues, such as hard-to-understand or inconsistent tooltip translations in your language. Please help us identify these points.
  • Performance: Playing on maximum size skirmish maps with many AIs will require higher performance, which might lower FPS or increase calculation times on low-spec PCs.
  • Auto-saves: Exiting the game while it's auto-saving may corrupt the current turn's auto-save game. We recommend not exiting the game during the AI turn or ensuring you have a manual save from this turn if you want to.

Pampas & Selene: Patch 1.04
Hello friends! Today's patch includes more adjustments and bug fixes that have been reported. There have also been a lot of requests to track the secrets during the playthrough so I've added a tracker for secrets to the map screen.

Today also marks the 2 week release of Pampas & Selene. I'm grateful to each and every one of you who purchased the game in this period and like my previous games, appreciate you each as a founder and hope you enjoy the content for free as you were an early supporter.

Gameplay Changes

  • The map screen now displays a tracker that shows the percentage of secrets found near where it shows the percentage of rooms discovered.
  • Cursor speed on the inventory/god screen has been lowered.
  • Worms Armageddeon soul charges adjusted (From 3 to 2)
  • Removed a strange hole that looked like hidden secret (but it wasn't)
  • MAGIC RING and PRISONER'S BALL adjusted speed when holding DOWN in a levitator has been adjusted

Bug Fixes

  • BUG: Fixed an issue where the cursor would go too fast in some menus when entering with left/right pressed
  • BUG: Fixed an issue where Ghost Assassion souls would try to assassinate prisoner cages or rubble
  • BUG: Fixed an issue where the game would rarely freezes when exiting.
  • BUG: Fixed an issue where a single hero could pickup more than 5 demons hearts individually
  • BUG: Fixed an issue where the bomb soul would explodes in strange places when fighting some demons.
  • DIALOG: "Tip History" is now translated into Japanese
