After a few years of working on our new game, we are thrilled to officially introduce Persist Online to the world!
A first Look at the Game
Persist Online is an MMORPG with zombies, so you better get yourself a gun. Survive in an unforgiving open world, where every building is accessible. Forge a deadly team with friends and claim what's not yours. Take your loot to your safe bunker to craft better gear. Some survive. The best persist!
Our Journey so far
Five years ago, two CipSoft employees had the idea for a new MMORPG and began developing a rough prototype in their free time. In July 2021, this game received the unconditional support of CipSoft, transforming the hobby project into an official game in development called Persist Online. Since then, our team has been growing and working on the game with a lot of passion and dedication.
Some of you have been with us since the beginning and have helped us stay on the right path to reach the goal of making our and your vision come alive. Your ideas, feedback, and support have inspired and motivated us to keep going! It WAS and IS very important to us to involve you in the development process.
What's next?
In the coming weeks and months, we will continue to enrich the game with updates and features. You can look forward to deeper insights into the game mechanics and exclusive interviews with the developers.
A great multiplayer game can only thrive through its community. To this end, we will organize regular playtests before Early Access to gather your feedback so we can continue to shape the game together. Want to be part of our playtests? Join our Discord and subscribe to our newsletter to stay updated and never miss any news!
We plan to publish Persist Online as a free-to-play game to make it accessible to everyone.
About CipSoft and the Persist Online Team
Founded in June 2001, CipSoft is still owned and managed by its original founders. With a team of 100 employees, CipSoft made its mark with Tibia, one of the first MMORPGs, which has been online since 1997. CipSoft handles all aspects of its MMORPG operations in-house, from community management and support to payment systems.
The core team consists of 14 people who work full time on Persist Online. As we are a small team, we are focusing on a few channels for communication, with our Discord server being the best place to reach us: https://discord.com/invite/Kr89hJUwuS
Closing Words
We want to thank everyone who has supported us on our way to this important milestone in our journey. We look forward to completing the rest of the journey with you. Thank you so much!
I am breaking this long silence to announce a message that unfortunately ended badly for us. On this path we set out exactly 2 years ago, unfortunately, the final result we encountered was neither as we planned nor as we imagined.
For 2 years we have been doing our best day and night, but we have not been able to overcome the biggest truth, which is finance. We have not been able to make a single penny of profit from this game, let alone achieve financial success. this may sound strange to you, because I doubt how many developers you have seen such a sincere and transparent message.
I can't even describe how sad it is for us to write such a message because we had a project with dreams and expectations and I believe that one day we will be back again, but until that day, unfortunately, we need to convey what we have experienced recently.
I have survived since the last major patch by going through partial depression and thanks to the love of my friends. even this major patch we could have never released because we were already financially collapsed, despite this, this question was asked on our discord server, although we answered it, I see that we have seen that some expressions such as (scammer) are used about us in the discussion forums here,
Under the first major patch we released, we actually mentioned this situation, we did not get the support we wanted (i.e. we could not overcome this situation financially) and unfortunetly we stopped the production of nowhere for an indefinite period of time to avoid further losses! and we do not have the obligation to continue the production process of the game in order not to make more losses from this situation in which we are making a loss, this is a business and this business has hurt us a lot financially.
Please allow me to be more specific
According to the current data of the game, we have 44K wishlists and the life time conversation rate is 4% these values are well below the steam avarage. this was not a voluntary organization, that is, everyone working here was earning monthly money from this job, taxes, insurances, monthly extra payments, company expenses, outsourcing costs, etc. we started not being able to meet any of these for the last 3 months and we decided to stop the game.
This is exactly the truth behind the work. no one tried to deceive anyone or make a profit with this. players who have been following us since the demo already know our determination to work.
How many hot fixes we made for each bug, how hard we personally worked to improve the experience of the players on the forums, how hard we worked to improve the experience of the players, how hard we worked to make major patch radical changes that we released for 3 months even though we were making a loss, and thinking that people would support it in the hope that people would support it, all but all of it happened because we could not overcome this financially. The game development process and everything we planned didn't work out the way we wanted it to.
Unfortunately we couldn't change the price policy for events that were planned well in advance, but in the future I would like to announce that this final version of the game will be open to everyone completely free of charge. it is a business that has not made a penny of profit and we are still suffering financially from this, but we have never and never set out on this path because of fraud or anything like that.
We would like to thank everyone who has approached us sincerely and provided positive and negative feedback so far.
We regret to inform you that, due to various reasons, we will be ceasing updates for the game "Survivor's Fantasia" effective immediately. Unless there are critical bugs that significantly impact gameplay, no substantial updates will be released. The details of the update are as follows:
1.Weapon Enhancement Overhaul There are now a total of 57 different weapon enhancements available. Each weapon can have one or multiple corresponding enhancements.
2.New Weapon: Enhancement Books Introducing Flame, Thunder, Freeze, Illusion, Bloodsucking, and Barrage Books. These books can be used to enhance weapons. The game now offers a grand total of almost 100 items, including 67 weapons and 30 attribute items.
3.Reworked Damage Logic Weapon damage is now determined by the base damage of the weapon.
4.Strengthened and Modified Certain Items Enhancements for melee, elemental, and summoning-related items have been modified.
5.Bug Fix: Reimu's Skill Fixed a bug related to the skill of the character Reimu.
6.Bug Fix: First Map Obstacle Activation Fixed a bug where the obstacles in the first map were not activating.
Other Bug Fixes
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. Thank you for your understanding.
I've just released a public demo for my new game, Hollowbody!
Hollowbody is a tech-noir survival horror that mixes influences from Ghost in the Shell and Blade Runner with classic survival horror gameplay inspired by Silent Hill, Kuon and Haunting Ground.
The demo is now live ahead of it's inclusion in Steam's upcoming Next Fest event where I will also be doing a Develop Q&A.
You can find out more about the game and download the demo on the store page below, It would really help me out if you clicked that wishlist button, the more wishlists a title has the more likely Steam is to suggest it to new players!
