Login & Character Creation Improvements
@Bardcore and @Chisme tag-teamed to deliver you all a much higher fidelity login and character creation UI. We hope this will make a positive first impression on new and returning players regarding the quality of the game
We've reduced the amount of steps and improved the user experience by minimizing excessive buttons and distractions from the process as well. Please let us know if you have any feedback to improve things!
Next week, they'll be pumping on the in-game HUD and potentially conversation bubble improvements!

Miscellaneous:
  • Item Links are now working in chat! It's been really awesome to see players using this to share their items. Seeing some chat trolling with the system warms my heart.

  • Research is now adjusted so monsters can only be researched once per kill. Monsters will only have the research option until the player has fully researched them in the monster dex. We can keep this in until getting the research bones ready to add to all mobs.

  • Arin Winterfang has appeared outside of Ardholm, riding a Frost Lunarion. Players have requested that we have multiple ways to earn mounts and she will exchange a mount for 5 Crystallized Lunarion Hearts in the future. For now, if anyone wants to trade just PM me.

  • The Chromatic Band is now fully craftable and requires level 40 to equip! We plan to add another small benefit soon, which will appear in game with a future restart.

  • There is a small bug with class names at the moment, some players will have their classes registered as numbers on login or in-game. We will fix this shortly and your class is totally fine, it's just a visual bug.

  • Window Position Saving: Most elements, such as the chat box, player / target frames, and the combat utility will now save their position between logins, allowing you to customize your UI to your liking.

  • The Eternal Flame Insignia should now properly have an icon.

  • Continued Dialogue improvements by @Winterslice! He's been doing an excellent job improving the early quests on SI. Let us know if you encounter any bugs or issues and we can fix. He'll be knocking out the tutorial very soon.

  • Fishing has had a bit of a rework with how it flows. When casting in open water, you'll see a 30 second timer but will stop fishing with each catch. Hotspots will allow you to continue fishing for the full duration and offer a more noticeable bonus to catch rates. We will be adding lures soon, which will give another source of this bonus. Lastly, during the period of the Red Moon (Augem) players will have an additional bonus.

  • @bacoustrips & @schreeder have gotten started on the foundation for Guilds. We're really excited to bring this system to players, so please let us know any feedback or ideas that you may have!

  • @Sprocket is working on the bank system cleanup, which will include a bunch of QoL features to make banking much more user friendly!

Hello, I'm Director Sang Kwon Han.

As the chilly spring weather drizzles away, we are faced with the approach of the scorching summer.
We are curious to find out if all of our Rune Hunters enjoyed the slight change in the game's atmosphere through the new event.
We aim to continue making various attempts in enhancing the fun aspects of the game.

Now then, allow me to share with you the core contents of the upcoming updates along with the details of the Season 5 update through this letter.
※ The details are still in the planning stage and may change during development.

■ Jun. 20 (Thu) / Season 4, 3rd Update

The final minor update of Season 4 will present an expansion of the Rune Master feature, as shared in the previous Developer's Letter.
Rune Master Points can be used to unlock slots for the newly added independent Rune Cast to register Skill/Link Runes more freely than before.
Rune Hunters who felt subdued by the existing Rune Cast system will be able to create a wider variety of Rune Builds starting with this update.





In addition, the Skill Quick Slots and Trigger Rune Slots can also be expanded by using Rune Master Points to utilize even more skills.



We have also prepared a summer event where you can obtain Swimsuit Costumes, so we hope you enjoy the last five weeks of Season 4.

■ Jul. 18 (Thu) / Season 5 1st Update

1. New Story

In Season 4, we shared separate stories by adding Side Quests, distinct from the Main Quest.
And now, we plan to gradually add new journeys to find the hidden Zodiac Masters scattered throughout the world, season by season.
In Season 5, the Main Quest will continue in a new themed stage named Kustodia with the introduction of new characters and bosses.

2. Addition of New Item Grades

Since the launch of UNDECEMBER, we have maintained the 'Legendary' and 'Unique' grade system for over two years.
And of course, we have added new gear options and tier upgrades to consistently provide enjoyment in farming.
Despite our efforts, we found that staying with the same grades was not providing enough enjoyment in farming, even with the improved Legendary Item Drop Chance and Unique Gear Options.
Therefore, we are adding the new 'Ancient' and 'Divine' grades to enhance the farming experience.

Existing Legendary Gear can be upgraded to Ancient Gear by using 'Ancient Upgrade Essence'.
Similarly, existing Unique Gear can be upgraded to Divine Gear by using 'Divine Upgrade Essence'.
※ Note that 'Legendary Unique Gear' cannot be directly upgraded into Ancient Gear. It must first be reverted to Unique Gear before being upgraded to Divine Gear.
※ Ancient and Divine gear can be applied to all Legendary and Unique gear, regardless of the 'previous season,' and we plan to minimize their impact on the value of existing gear.

We have designed 'Ancient Gear' to have the highest performance as a single gear.
Just as Legendary Options can be imbued into 'Legendary Gear', up to two 'Ancient Options' can be imbued into Ancient Gear.
We are planning to add new and powerful options for Ancient Options not previously available on existing gear.

As for 'Divine Gear', up to two 'Divine Options' can be imbued like to the 'Legendary Unique Gear'.
And there is even a chance for 'Divine Set Options' to be additionally imbued into the gear. These Divine Set Options will become a key feature in assembling Divine Gear.
While individual Divine Set Options do not have effects themselves, they grant more powerful Set Effects as the number of options increases.
We believe this change is expected to impact the efficiency of existing 'Unique Gear' as well.

Also, we have determined that the 'Legendary Unique Gear' are ambiguous and will no longer drop starting from Season 5.
Of course, any existing 'Legendary Unique Gear' will be maintained.

3. Chaos Statue Revamp

The 'Chaos Dungeons' accessible through the Chaos Statue, marks the start and the end of UNDECEMBER, and is one of the main end-game contents available.
Thus, we have continuously improved 'Chaos Dungeons' by adding seasonal content and random encounter elements.
But having realized that such additions did not resolve the fundamental issues, we plan to address them with a major revamp of the system as shown below.

3-1. Removal of Chaos Stones and Addition of Chaos Points

The 'Chaos Stones', originally designed to enable more experience of seasonal content and random encounter events, will no longer be used.
After considering the difficulty of obtaining 'Chaos Stones', we found that they did not meet the current needs and decided to improve the system to be more intuitive.
Instead, you will now earn 'Chaos Points' by clearing 'Chaos Dungeons'. The accumulated 'Chaos Points' can then be used to directly select the desired random encounter elements.
Any existing 'Chaos Stones' will be converted into 'Chaos Points' along with the season update.

3-2. Improvements to Greater Chaos Card Acquisition Difficulty

We are planning to improve the acquisition methods for 'Greater Chaos Cards' in Chaos Dungeons.
Currently, Greater Chaos Cards can be difficult to acquire as they can only be obtained in Tier 10 Chaos Dungeons or above, or through the Black Market.
So, to allow all Rune Hunters to fully enjoy the Chaos Dungeons, we are going to provide additional acquisition methods for these cards.
Each nation's Greater Chaos Cards will be rewarded based on the total number of Tier 10 Dungeon clears for that nation.
Similarly, the total number of Tier 11 Dungeon clears for each nation will offer choices between Greater Chaos Card (Domain of Might), (Land of Authority), (Anchorage of the Golden Ring), and (Ilya's Room)
We will also update the UI to reflect these changes. Detailed information will be provided in future update notices.

3-3. Removal of Chaos Compendium and Addition of Chaos Rune Cast

The 'Chaos Compendium' provided additional farming effects by earning points from clearing Chaos Dungeons.
But we have decided to remove this feature due to poor accessibility and awareness among Rune Hunters.
To compensate for this removal, the 'Chaos Rune Cast' feature will be added.

The 'Chaos Rune Cast' is a new feature that will provide various option effects exclusive to Chaos Dungeons.
As the name suggests, this system will allow hunters to equip runes, but only the newly added 'Chaos Runes'.
Chaos Runes can be obtained from 'Chaos Dungeons' or the 'Black Market'.

And like the Chaos Statue, 'Chaos Runes' will reset each season.
We have decided to make this a seasonal feature instead of a permanent addition to maintain a stable balance and make diverse attempts.
We hope that this new feature will enhance the farming experience in Chaos Dungeons, and we are planning to make various efforts to achieve this goal.

3-4. Addition of Hard Difficulty for Chaos Dungeons

We are adding a Hard Difficulty mode as a more challenging and intuitive content.
The 'Chaos Dungeon Hard Difficulty' can be accessed once the Chaos Statue reaches Lv. 20 and above. This difficulty can be selected regardless of the card tier.
Resurrections will not be available in Hard mode.
Moreover, you will face monsters of the highest level with different abilities and additional card options exclusive to the Hard mode.
These Exclusive Options may include challenging effects from Cursed Monsters in Season 4, such as harsh Debuffs and Nullify Immunity.
The newly added 'Ancient Grade Items' will be obtainable in Chaos Dungeon Hard mode.

4. Seasonal Content 'Exodium'

The content for this season will be centered around the Kustodia Island, a key part of the storyline.
Ancient monsters from the mythical ages will start appearing in Chaos Dungeons.
These ancient monsters will be in a Berserk state, bound by unknown devices, making them hostile towards all Rune Hunters.
They will remain hostile even if the devices are destroyed, but their powers will be weakened with the Berserk status removed.

By defeating the ancient monsters, you will be able to obtain [Exodium Card (Kustodia Island)], and [Exodium Card (Kustodia Temple)], which will grant access to Kustodia Island.
The Exodium Cards are divided into Tier 3, 6, 9, and 12.
Unlike the existing Chaos Cards, there will be a Tier 12, from which you can obtain the [Greater Exodium Card] which can be used to face the final boss.

The new bosses will be significantly more challenging than those from normal Greater Chaos Cards, and will drop 'New Unique Gear'.
Also, the newly added 'Divine Grade Items' can only be obtained from Exodium Dungeons.

5. Improvements to Gear Enchantment and Simplification of Essences

We plan to improve the Gear Enchant system accessible through NPC Blacksmiths Croco and Kiroki for your convenience.
We plan to eliminate the use of unnecessary essences and integrate those that can be combined for usage.

Magic and Rare Grade Gear will always have the maximum slots for prefix and suffix options.
However, Empty Options Slots will still be available, and Imbue Essences will continue to be used on them
Existing essences that can no longer be used can be disassembled into new materials and traded in for other essences.

Essences related to quality can now be used freely regardless of the gear grade.
This also applies to existing 'Unique' and newly added 'Ancient' and 'Divine' gear. The quality limit for 'Unique Gear' will also be adjusted to a maximum of +30 like for other gear.
However, considering the balance of such 'Unique Gear', further adjustments to the functionality and values of the quality-related essences may be made.

Now, Reversion Essences will be added to all essences of Legendary Grade and above, enabling more freedom in Reversions and Upgrades through enchants.

As we mentioned in the previous Developer's Letter, please note that all Essence Pieces will be removed with the start of Season 5.
Please make sure to use all of your Essence Pieces before the current season ends.

6. Improvements to Dismantling

Various gear and items can currently be dismantled, but we believe the value of materials obtained from dismantling has significantly diminished.
And since pieces will no longer be used starting from Season 5, dismantling will provide combined materials instead.
We plan to add various items which can be purchased with such combined materials. Further details will become available in future update notes.

7. New Skill Runes

Currently in UNDECEMBER, physical element builds and attack skills have very high usage rates.
And while spells used from 'Spell Activation on Hit' are utilized often, directly cast spells are not used very often.
Therefore, in Season 5, we plan on adding new skills and improve existing skill that are cast directly.

And as previously announced, the hit count bug for 'Whirlwind' skill will be fixed with the start of Season 5.
Subsequently, the skill damage for Whirlwind will be adjusted to appropriate values in accordance with the hit count bug.


8. Removal of Guaranteed and Reversion Transfers and Addition of New Transfers for Alchemy Gear

Finally, to offer diverse builds for Rune Hunters, we have provided the convenient features of Guaranteed Transfer and Reversion Transfer through Alchemy.
However, despite numerous updates, the utilization of legacy gear remained high, deterring the gear turnover and the enjoyment of farming in a hack-and-slash game.
Therefore, we have decided not to support Guaranteed and Reversion Transfers starting from Season 5.

In addition to the Season 5 2nd update, we will be adding 'Fixed Partial Transfers' in Alchemy to allow more flexible settings in gear options.
You will be able to select one desired option as the Fixed Prefix or Fixed Suffix, and all other options will be transferred with equal chance.
Also, existing 'Gear Guaranteed Transfer Stone' and 'Star of Regression' will be used as new Alchemy materials after being renamed accordingly.
※ Note that 'Gear Guaranteed Transfer Stone' and 'Star of Regression' items will not be removed; they will be renamed and used as materials for Fixed Partial Transfers.

■ In Conclusion…

We expect the 3rd update at the end of June to bring about significant changes to existing skills builds.
Furthermore, the Season 5 update planned for July 18 will implement major changes to the gear system.
We understand that there are many other issues which must still be addressed,
but we stand hopeful that the revamp of the Chaos Statue, along with the addition of new gear tiers and grades, will enhance the hack-and-slash satisfaction of UNDECEMBER.

Hi everyone,

After receiving tons of feedback regarding the map and the visual clarity, I have decided to swap out Undead Graveyard and use the Tower Top map for the demo which should be much much clearer for you players.

I will also update the trailer and screenshots in the coming week to then better represent the demo with the new map.

Balancing

  • Changed the oxygen amount the player has to 500 (prev. 100)
  • Changed the ore amount of resource nodes to 50 (prev. 5) if harvested by hand, 500 (prev. 100) for miners mk. 1 and 1000 (prev. 200) for miners mk. 2

Bugfixes

  • Fixed a game breaking loading error leading to false tutorial steps and the player unable to continue building.
  • Fixed a game breaking bug with the tutorial where the tutorial crashed if the player logged out with a half completed third task
  • Fixed a game breaking bug with the in world build menu that prohibited the player from building bases and other world buildings.
  • Fixed the enemies spawning and path finding. No more underwater animals, sorry!
  • Fixed the small Tooltips that show the player why something can't be placed.
  • Fixed an issue with the point of interest quest display. It will now be disabled when leaving the point of interest.
  • Fixed an issue with the Base Icon only showing up after spawning or walking near it.
  • Fixed an issue with the Build mode not correctly activating if startet from the instant facility mode. (The small screens in the modules)

Known Issues
  • IMPORTANT: The Crafting Queue is not properly saved and if the player reloads the save file, the used items will be lost. We are working on a solution asap.

New Cards Landing
Among all the various demons that have flooded the Northern Gate, there’s one that can instill real animal fear even in the bravest of heroes. Of course, we're talking about the Keeper of Fear and his favorite trick—slipping a few bad cards into your deck. Our artists have worked hard and created new artwork for these very cards. Are you ready to face your fears and phobias and defeat the enemy? Well, we'll see soon!



Sound Mind and Firm Memory
We won't stray far from the newly created residents of the Castle's surroundings. It’s well known that our heroes will face many challenges on their way to their final goal. One such challenge is the Keeper of Illusions. His harmful impact on the heroes’ mind can cause serious trouble in battle, so to allow you to experience his power along with the heroes, we’ll add a real psi-attack to the event. Be careful and keep your mind calm (as much as possible).



The Pipe in His Hand, The Smoke in the Steppes
There’s an orc shaman in the Crimson Steppes who’s understood this world completely. All he needs is peace and tranquility, so he warmly invites every traveler to join him. Our animators have worked a bit on the atmosphere in that friendly orc's camp, and now, if you decide to smoke a pipe, a visual effect of light smoke is guaranteed. Actually, there’ll be much more, but that's a different story.



Small but Mighty
When adding effects for the heroes, we didn't forget about Vanadis' pets. This week, Tulip and Waggytail got some gifts from our animators and they’re eager to show them off in all their glory.




Pardon or Punish, Punish or Pardon
Sometimes enemies change their intention to surrender, sometimes they don’t... So, these updated intention icons will definitely help you to clearly see what your enemies are intending. As for which of the ‘P’s they will get—pardon or punish, punish or pardon—that’s up to you.



Druid Almighty!
Our lycan already has a tough life, but there are advantages to be found everywhere. The Lunar Druid set not only looks great on Bjorn but also offers pleasant bonuses, which now look vivid, by the way. All thanks to the new VFX carefully prepared by our animators.

2 items from the set give you a Strength bonus equal to the current Balm value and envelop the hero in a refreshing green aura.

3 items increase Bjorn's maximum health by 20 points at the start of the battle, depending on the number of "Lycan Curse" cards in the deck. The appearance of a spectral wolf won’t let you miss it.



As for the 5-piece set, it instantly destroys enemies with less than 30% health remaining. Quite an interesting side effect.

Hi everyone, this is Andrew aka Innrey, the founder of Redboon. Week after week pass by, and we are fully immersed in preparations for the big update.

You’re probably tired of hearing about the upcoming patch, and I agree with you—we’re pretty tired too. After finishing all the things we plan to add to the game, a considerable number of bugs have surfaced. Our whole team is catching and fixing them almost non-stop. However, we still have energy, and we are not giving up!

But let's not talk about our sore spots. We’re preparing a new video diary dedicated to the patch. We’ll also talk to our writer about his work on creating the world of KOTCL and other aspects of the profession. You bombarded us with questions, and they’re all so interesting that it was difficult for us to choose the ones to include in the video. If we don't answer your question in the video, please don't be upset. We’ll try our best to discuss everything one way or another.

It’s probably worth mentioning that our community is slowly but surely growing. Last week, we surpassed the 1000 followers mark on X (formerly Twitter), which is very pleasing. I’m sure there will be more, and I want to thank each one of you for your support.

Good day, Pioneers!
The response to the demo has been overwhelming, with hundreds of you leaving amazing feedback. I'm so happy that the game has resonated with so many of you.

I've pushed six patches to the demo so far, which have included countless fixes, a camera overhaul, ultrawide monitor support, improved building tools, and more!

There's a seventh patch coming later today with some more small changes, and I'm also working on streamlining Build Mode further so that it's even quicker and easier to build up and modify your Outpost on AETHUS, so keep an eye out for an update here on Steam.

Because of this, and the fact that many of you are still enjoying playing, I've decided to leave the demo up beyond the end of the Survival-Crafting festival!
I've absolutely loved engaging with you all during this period, so let's keep going.

I also wanted to let you know that you can pre-register for a potential AETHUS Kickstarter now - I'm not 100% decided on doing one, but it would be a great way of getting some extra resources I could use to bump up the quality of the game another notch.

It's been a while since we've seen you, but the Xbox release happened and we've been preparing a major update in honor of it! Introducing Last Pursuit update with Trail Out v3.0! The second major update in the history of the game, adding a lot of new content and updating the hunter mode, turning it into a standalone mini game. Yes, this is the 5 latest update.



⭐ Main changes:

  • New big map: GOLDEN TRAIL! Experience the fall season in the mountains with a ride around the dam and factory.
  • New game plus! Try going through the game again with the drivers health system, 10 drivers during the race and other conditions.
  • Big update for the Hunter mode with the killstrike system!
  • Also big update for the DEAD OUT with split-screen for 2 players!
  • SPEED RADARS! Stay on every Rush mode maps with online records and rewards. Who will be faster? Also you will get a small photo.
  • NEW CARS! Sturman Ex and fastest drag-car Citra Super
  • Special vehicles: Tractor JD 1960, Lawnmower Tor Slicer GT and small tractor Pepes 12, available with cheat codes. Also Patriot, old army suv.
  • Added dynamic weather for some large maps (snow, rain, sunny, fog) for Golden Trail, Black Lake, Hilly Valley, Nordloopring, Wildwood maps
  • Global rebalance of Free Race rewards. Rewards now converge with track length and time spent on the track. Escape and Hunter modes are also better balanced in rewards.
  • Improved optimization with memory and other effects.

  • New character's skin for the playing for the main game

You see, there’s only so much one can do in a single day. Scouring a gigantic estate for clues, after all, can be a very exhausting task.



In Blue Prince, STEPS represent how much energy you have. You will start every morning with 50 steps, and you will find that number in the top left corner of the screen. But there’s no need to rush! Steps are only lost when moving between rooms. So, you can take your time and spend as much time as you like in each room to explore (and we encourage that!).

And hey, 50 steps to find the 46th room of the house seems perfectly reasonable, right?

Right…?

Well, let’s just say that you can’t always line up rooms in a straight path to where you are aiming to go. Drafting your house will involve a lot of strategic architectural weaving, unexpected turns, and nasty dead-ends that always seem to pop up at the most inopportune times! If you’re not careful, those steps are going to quickly be depleted as you trek around looking for doors that you passed up earlier in the day. Once you run out of steps, you will have to Call it a Day.



But all hope is not lost! There are several ways to increase your steps whilst inside the manor. Fruit found around the house will give you a quick boost of energy, replenishing a handful of steps, and there are even rooms that you can rest up in to gain even more! One such example is BEDROOM, which will give you +2 STEPS each time that you enter the room. Quite useful if you draft it in a spot in your house that you plan on traveling through again later.



If you’re the type of player who loves to explore and wander off the path to investigate and look for secrets, then you may be in need of even more steps than the occasional fruit or bedroom can provide. A room like NURSERY has the potential to provide a massive amount of steps. That is, if you draft more bedrooms. It is also worth noting that NURSERY is a dead-end. So if you draft this room in your house you may not have as many options for expansion.
