Le Mans Ultimate - LewiEdmo
The 24 Hours of Le Mans is fast approaching and to celebrate the milestone, the BMW M Hybrid V8 will become the first playable 2024 Hypercar on Le Mans Ultimate, the official game of the FIA World Endurance Championship and 24 Hours of Le Mans. The car will be a FREE DLC for Early Access supporters along with all the 2024 liveries of Hypercars currently in the game.

June will be a special occasion for the Bavarian manufacturer, as BMW celebrate 25 years since its iconic outright win in 1999 with their BMW V12 LMR, and to mark the milestone the M Hybrid V8 LMDh will be available to players for free as part of a wider June update ahead the 2024 edition of the endurance racing classic.

Following a season in IMSA in 2023, BMW elected for a two-pronged attack in 2024 with the #15 and #20 cars joining the FIA WEC roster – fighting for wins across the globe against sparring partners from the likes of Ferrari, Porsche and Toyota. The 4-litre V8 German Hypercar adorned in the works BMW liveries will be available as a free DLC download on Steam on Monday 10th June and will be able to race against 2023 cars on 2023 circuits already in the game once downloaded from Steam.

Joining the BMW will be an array of new liveries for all the 2024 Hypercars currently in the game – these will also be free to all players as part of the June update and will include the menacing black Toyota GR010, eye-catching yellow AF Corse Ferrari 499P and retro themed Porsche 963 from Proton Competition to name but a few.

“We have been working closely with BMW to faithfully replicate its BMW M Hybrid V8 in an important anniversary year for the manufacturer – and what a car for us to start with for our 2024 content, as we focus on the new wave of exciting cars in the FIA WEC, said Stephen Hood, CEO of Studio 397 and Motorsport Games.”

“Our forthcoming June update will be our first in a long series that will bring further improvements to the game, new features and gameplay tools that the community have been crying out for, as well as making new 2024 content available to the community – something so many have been looking forward to, including myself!”
The update from Studio 397 along with the free BMW Hypercar DLC will be available to the Le Mans Ultimate community on Monday 10th June, with further details on the update and 2024 season content drops coming in an announcement next week.

Drift: Space Survival - Friartruck
Thanks to the support by this community, I've been able to put my head down and work on the largest update to Drift yet. The Space Exploration update will improve every aspect of the game and open new ways to explore.

Today, I'll take a look at two exciting new features coming with this update. In future posts, I'll go into the new gameplay systems, progression and more.

Improved Environment Art

New modes of transport created the opportunity to re-visit some of the environments you can visit, specifically moving the art style closer to the concept art - and the early texturing tests have looked fantastic.

Small Ships

Flying the big ship is a huge improvement, but I like to build big and commonly got myself into trouble. Enter the small ship (name TBD: send suggestions in the comments!). This two-seater is great for moving from your base to a nearby dense asteroid field to strip mine for resources or pick up a stranded friend.

And flying this is a blast. Full six degrees of movement and an afterburner - great for crossing the distance and squeezing into caves.

What's next?

There's still a lot of work to be done before this update is in your hands. But there will be some opportunities to help us get there.

  • Small Ship Network Stress Test - Making fun, flying spaceships work with up to 7 friends all over the world is hard. And even harder as a tiny dev team. In early June, we'll put together a playtest where you can fly around with us so we can fix any issues. Join the Discord to be the first to hear.
  • Closed Beta - Later this summer, we'll do a closed beta focusing on a the new gameplay systems, research and further netcode testing.

Thank you so much for helping craft Drift into the game it is today and I'm excited to get this update out to you soon!
Star Conflict - Super Glix

Attention all pilots! The UMC received an emergency contract from the so-called Broker. The marathon will end on June 10.
  • All mercenaries who took places from 1 to 12 in the “Brain drain” PvE leaderboard will receive 500 monocrystals and 1000 GS, paint “Morse code”, taunt “The explosion of your ship is beautiful like a sakura flower at dawn, it attracts the eye.”, title “Champion of destruction”, portrait “Jackie”.
  • All mercenaries who took places from 13 to 24 in the “Brain drain” PvE leaderboard will receive 500 xenocrystals, paint “Steganography”, taunt “If I'd known they took wimps like that in samurai ranks, I'd have joined the flight attendants!”, title “Star fighter”, portrait “Beauvoir”.
  • All mercenaries who took places from 25 to 40 in the “Brain drain” PvE leaderboard will receive 300 xenocrystals, paint “Code ASBR”, taunt “Calm your anger, my young friend.”, title “Dauntless”, portrait “Margaret Zele”.

“Close encounter” Brawl

The objective of the first team is to destroy 3 enemy navigation stations, the objective of the second team is to defend them during the game time. The stations are additionally protected by a special energy shield, which must be destroyed in advance, and then it is necessary to destroy the stations with a special bomb that appears near where the first team appears. Only 1 bomb can exist simultaneously. The ship carrying a bomb can’t go at full speed. The number of flights is not limited. Be careful! Ships in this brawl can easily crash against any obstacle and even against the station’s energy shields!

At the start of the brawl, players will be able to choose ships specifically upgraded for battles
When the ship is destroyed, you can take it an unlimited number of times.

Players can receive new achievements for winning in the “Close encounter” mode:
  • For 5 victories you can get the “Centurion” achievement
  • For 10 victories you can get the “Legatus Legionis” achievement
  • For 40 victories you can get the “Legatus Augusti” achievement
The brawl will be available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays until June 10.

Commanders!

The second prize of the upcoming Tales from the Dark Battle Path will be a Russian Armored Fighting Vehicle called BMP-2M Berezhok.

Now, you might be already familiar with the story of the BMP-2 and if you are not, we recommend reading the following articles as they form the foundation of this one:
In short, the BMP-1/2 platform has been around for a very long time and will likely continue to be a common sight on pretty much every active battlefield due to its ubiquity even though it is by now completely obsolete and offers almost no protection against current threats. The Russians themselves as the inheritors of the Soviet legacy have replaced it with the BMP-3 a long time ago and have even developed upgrades to its successor.

But despite this replacement, hundreds or even thousands of BMP-1/2s remain mothballed across Russia, awaiting their reactivation and restoration. For the BMP-1s, the upgrade is called BMP-1AM Basurmanin (replacing the original BMP-1 turret with the one from BTR-82A). But the BMP-2 upgrade is different. It too consists of a turret replacement but the B05Ya01 Berezhok combat module is very different. Thus upgraded, the vehicle is known as BMP-2M (or B-22).

This combat module was developed in Tula and features the classic 30mm 2A42 autocannon combined with two Kornet ATGM twin-tube launchers, 30mm AG-30M grenade launcher and, of course, modern optics (“Redut” fire control system, B09S02 gunner sight with a thermal imager and a commander panoramic sight with laser rangefinder). The vehicle weighs 16 tons or 17 tons with extra armor (675-sb3KDZ) that protects its sides against heavy machinegun fires and RPG-7 rockets.

The first version of the BMP-2M was unveiled in 2005 and immediately caught the attention of Algeria. A contract was signed to modernize 300 BMP-2s this way (it’s unclear how many were truly modernized but the estimates vary between 100 and 200). Russia ordered its own BMP-2Ms in 2020 in order to replace the losses of lighter BMD class vehicles in the Ukraine conflict.

The BMP-2M is currently in use by the Russian military (notably the VDV) and is still in production. Overall, it seems that around 200-300 were built in total (including the Algerian contract) so it is nowhere near as common as the BTR-82A. To makes things even more complicated, there are two other BMP-2Ms developed by Kurganmashzavod – these are called BMP-2M (sb4-2) and BMP-2M (sb4-3) and are intended for export only. They are offered with additional set of cage armor that has since made its way to the Russian BMP-2M configuration.

In Armored Warfare, the BMP-2M will be a Tier 9 Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle.

In its most basic configuration, the vehicle is pretty much what you might expect – a fragile platform with a lot of firepower consisting of a single 30mm autocannon and two double Kornet launchers similar to those on the T-15.

There will be an additional armor upgrade that will noticeably increase its protection but the vehicle will still be quite fragile. In this sense, it’ll be a counterpart to the BTR-82A, just one Tier higher and with more focus on burst damage than sustained DPM. The mobility will of course be solid, but the highlight will of course be the amount of damage this vehicle will deal in battle. And it will be a lot thanks to its two potential (upgrade) configurations.

Once you unlock them using the Workshop mechanism, you’ll be able to choose between two weapon configurations in addition to the basic autocannon and ATGM combo:
  • Grenade launcher configuration
  • ATGM configuration
The grenade launcher configuration will add a third weapon (fourth, if you count the coaxial machinegun) to your arsenal – 30mm AG-30M grenade launcher. At first sight it sounds like something very weak but it’s anything but.

For one, the grenades use a very narrow arc of flight, which means they will be arriving from above. You still need to keep the enemy in your line of sight to use them but they will devastate anything with a thin roof that’s trying to hide behind a hill with only a tiny bit of the turret peeking out.

Additionally, this grenade launcher will be fitted with a silencer (yes, that’s a thing that was recently developed) so you don’t lose any camouflage firing it. On the downside, these grenades fly fairly slowly so hitting a moving target with them will not be easy. Two shell types will likely be available (HE and HEAT) with enough performance to ruin the day of anything that’s not a Main Battle Tank (and even then they’ll be useful, you just need to aim better).

The ATGM configuration will, on the other hand, replace the grenade launcher with an additional twin-tube Ataka ATGM launcher (that was also an experimental thing). And you know what that means – thermobaric warhead ATGMs and all the fun that comes with them.

With so many weapons at its disposal, the BMP-2M will be all about weapon management to make sure you squeeze every last drop of damage from the platform. It’ll take some getting used to but we’re sure experienced players will master it in no time.

We hope that you’ll enjoy this vehicle and, as always:

See you on the battlefield!
