Hi everyone. This round of hotfixes addresses issues with save data backups, as well as some level design tweaks.

Steam AutoCloud has been enabled for Windows. It is untested on Steam Deck at the moment, but should work assuming Proton Compatibility mode just simulates the Windows file path. I don't own a Steam Deck so if anyone can confirm that, that'd be cool.

Patch Notes:
• Added "Shoddy EMP Device" to Aianna and Gilda Shops. It's also a random drop in Zone 1.
If a player sold this skill, they would no longer be able to complete the Zone 1 incentives to unlock the hidden dungeon.
• Combining 3 Shoddy EMP Devices will now give you an Improved EMP Device.
• Dwarven Rifleman's Flash Bang wasn't working for all players. It was working when I tested it on Steam so not sure what causes that. Hopefully a new build will fix the issue.

It's here. ✨🧙 The Tales of Fablecraft demo is officially available.

To mark the moment, we put together a fun gameplay trailer that features the demo and the adventures that lie beyond Early Access launch (which is coming soon!). Here it is.



What's in the demo?

So, what can you expect from this demo? Well, we put together a rundown yesterday that you can review if you'd like all the details. But here's the short version...

The first version of the demo available now features a tutorial covering basic gameplay and combat that you can play solo. Once you're done with that, you can gather up to five of your friends (that's six players, including yourself) and take on the first three sessions of The Road to the Starfall Festival adventure, which will be available for free at Early Access launch.

Of course, you'll also be able to put on your GM hat and tell your own story with the assets included in those first three sessions.

Yes, updates are coming!

The Tales of Fablecraft demo will run through Next Fest in June. Between now and the start of Next Fest, we'll add more tutorials, an arena-style combat mode, and special cosmetic unlocks that you can earn and keep after the game officially launches.

Double Brawl
25-26 May 2024 17:00 CET we are launching our first Double Brawl. Yes, two modificators at once! This is only a fraction of power that the SUR5 engine possesses. During this event you will not lose any ELO ranking and will play with fan-favourite cataclysm: Tremors! We also decided to reduce the number of games that are required to obtain participation prizes.




Roadmap Update
Our team would also like to share a list of our plans for the next 2 months. Our priority is finishing the Story Mission (spoiler cards below!). After that we will be working on a passive Black Market event and releasing a wild-tree-monkey-mutant-guardian called Werwent that will support life gain archetype.



In mission number 5 our protagonist Vex has been captured by sadistic vampire Sister Senn (changed from Blood Agent). It is up to Pepper to get her back by gathering people of Moggatro and defeating the oppressors! More info soon...

A player requested a new feature (to be able to set V-Sync or max framerate), so I decided I would try to include some other changes while I was at it! :-) 
  • Added both frame rate max setting and V-Sync settings in options menu. These can only be set while you are in the main menu. Press the "Show Advanced Settings" button to access them. V-Sync is now on by default;

  • Fixed glitch with volume settings where master volume was incorrectly applied to sub-volumes;

  • Added updated font that includes lower case;

  • Redesigned menus (made buttons and fonts smaller and other things);

  • Fixed glitch with certain songs restarting when volume turned off;

  • A few behind the scenes code updates/revisions;

Details:
- Fixed a bug that retain popup options later in the game, making go to the tutorial instead of the next level when declining the tutorial when first proposed.
- Improved detection for when an enemy gets out of bounds to prevent softlocking the current run
- Bone Shield now resets duration when reapplied
- Fixed an issue where Seed of Hope would not heal large amount of minions.
- Improved collisions in general and pathing on third level. Fixed occurences where it was possible to out of bounds, especially near bridges.

This update introduces some fun new enchants for items and Fate Wheel, as well as some balancing tweaks.

New content
  • New enchants: Mana Shield, vitality weapon damage, strength spell damage, HP on crit
  • New Fate nodes: Mana Shield, HP on crit, mana on inspiration, mana increase passion, vitality weapon damage, strength spell damage
  • New item: Glass ring
Fixes & Tweaks
  • Nodes on the Fate Wheel have been rearranged so that several extremely powerful synergies are not directly adjacent to each other (existing characters have been refunded their fate points)
  • Nerfed Holy Bolt enchant (cast chance 30%>>20%, slightly slower rapid-casting)
  • Increased monster damage/power escalation over clock days
  • Monsters give more EXP in each deeper Act (encourage pushing forward)
  • Increased EXP requirements to gain a level up
  • Fixed a major stacking issue with Thorns mods
  • Fixed dice rerolls on weapons
  • Fixed potential travel map generation failures
  • Other minor fixes and tweaks
