Player
  • Attack, reload, and ability speed are no longer exponential, and are now uncapped
  • Leveling up is now +40% harder, but attack speed and reload increase by 40% instead of 25% each level
  • Now if the player only has 1 secondary weapon, it will get a 25% attack speed and reload bonus
  • Decreased player speed by 10%
  • Increased speed when the player is not holding a weapon: +10% → +20%
  • Accuracy is now negatively uncapped and can go below 0
  • Now, weapons have a small cooldown after switching so they don’t shoot instantly


New Mechanic: Dead HP
  • Now when the player hits 0 HP, he will not die but slowly start gaining dead HP, which blocks max HP
  • The more dead HP you have, the slower you move
  • If dead HP blocks all your maximum HP, you die
  • You recover 20% dead HP each day survived; that’s the only way to regain your HP


General
  • Now you can reroll the shop infinitely after using the free shop rerolls, but it costs coins
  • Now the price difference between quality 0 and quality 3 items is bigger
  • Items are slightly cheaper
  • The price of the food machine increases more each day
  • Increased length of day 15
  • Increased day length of days 5 to 9
  • Entrepreneur class now starts with big pockets item instead of coin roll item

Enemies
  • Now more enemies will spawn when you return from the shop depending on the day and how many there were before
  • Enemies gain half less speed per day
  • Increased the maximum amount of enemies that can be at the same time, and now some small enemies like rats and spiders don’t count
  • Now the quantity of zombies in a horde is affected by difficulty
  • Fire spawned from fire zombies will last 50% less
  • Spider eggs now always spawn a minimum of 2 spiders, increased maximum spiders from 5 to 6
  • Rat groups are 25% less common
  • Decreased enemy spawning on days 5 to 9, but zombie groups spawn faster

Zombie HP changes:

  • Now when survivors spawn, they will not go too close to the platform or too far
  • Survivor spawn immortality increased from 3.5s to 4s
  • Survivors now drop more coins depending on the day
  • Survivors now can’t spawn too early in the day or too late
  • Now only 3 survivors can spawn on days 1 to 4, and 3 on days 5 to 9

We’d like to formally invite you all to a competition of speed. It’s the first event of this kind for Dynasthir. And we are very excited to do our best in hosting it.

Shoot from the hip & end up on target.

In my years delving ever deeper into games; Few things have fascinated me as much as the true dedication and depth speedrunners will go to, preferably to avoid playing anything of a game at all.

In doing so, they often end up playing it more than anyone else.

This is the dichotomy I want to invite you to partake in. As a community I’d like you to obsess about details, talk about strategies.

Will you persist against a clock, heading towards the end of time?

Together with Retro Plus Games, who’s currently developing their dream tabletop game Dracula's Curse which is a crimson love child born of a lifelong passion for games and Goliath Guitars Game Development who is a solo developer who’s pushing the boundaries of tool design for use in Unreal with performance & usability in mind; We, the TwinlakeMinstrels have gathered up a price pool of 500 USD for the competition.

With these amazing people backing us up, we can confidently move forward and give back more to our community.

What follows is the allocation of the price pool & the rules for the competition.

Price Allocation
300 USD goes to 1st place winner
100 USD goes to 2nd place winner
75 USD goes to 3rd place winner
25 USD goes to best new speed tech as judged by the Jury

Rules
  • Runs have to be live streamed and available to the public
  • Practice can be off-cam
  • Runs have to be Completed in a time under sixteen minutes and thirty seconds (16:30) to Qualify
  • Qualify is defined as entering the Run into the competition to be considered for a Price
  • People may perform & submit as many runs they want. Significant runs should be linked and marked with the runners name and time
  • Timer begins after the Intro Cutscene
  • Timer ends after the Sovereigns end speech, right after the word “Crucible”
  • There will be a week of Discovery between 13/05/2024 ending at 20:00 GMT+1 on the seventh day
  • There will be a week of runs between 20/05/2024 ending at 20:00 GMT+1 on the seventh day
  • This is an Any% speedrun, meaning as long as the word “Crucible” has been spoken by the Sovereign NPC in the Scene at the “natural” end of the Demo. Anything goes until that point. And this counts as the Demo being “Completed”
  • Strategies found during the week of Runs are required to be shared on the TwinlakeMinstrel Discord
  • Links to runs have to be shared on the TwinlakeMinstrel Discord
  • Links to New trick discovery have to be shared on the TwinlakeMinstrel Discord
  • If any of the rules are wrangled by rule bending smart asses the Jury reserve the right to make a judgment call
  • External applications to tamper with the game code is not allowed. For example Cheat Engine, Unreal Unlocker, AI or any TAS tools

This update adds a subtle nostalgic CRT visual mode, and an upgraded lighting package to improve visuals. In addition, issue with inconsistent framerate is fixed.

  • Framerate capped @60hz to handle choppy framerate and ensure smoother, more consistent gameplay.
  • Added a CRT visual mode for a bit of nostalgia, adding an old-school vibe to the game.
  • Upgraded the Unity lighting package for better lighting. The lighting is discreet but significantly improved.

After pixel pitch, watching Asmongold and the juges play made me realize the starting area felt a little empty, and the animation could use some love.

I added 200 new playtesters, if you have the chance to play, let me know how it went, it helps me improve the game!

I'm also adding a new public server, this will allow me to see people playing directly and test how chaotic it can get!

New:
  • Added a public server! Check the public server tabs to see all public servers. (note that the experince in a public server can be degraded as anyone can destroy your buildings)
  • Added a permanent light on your character that only activates when you are in dark areas (dense forest etc...)
  • A chat bubble now pops up when you type in game. The chat icon also adapt to the chat content to an extend.


Changes:
  • Increased the trees density in the starting area (x2)
  • Added a yellow highlight for the tutorials UI
  • Changed the crafting UI background to transparent
  • The run animation without weapons has been changed.
  • Added a missing jump start animation.

Bugs
  • Fixed a bug with slimes where they would not properly synchronize their height.
  • Environmental damage sources will no longer be shown as "fall damage" in death recap
  • Fixed a bug with global entities (giant golem, giant snake) where they would not be properly synchronized when the player would be too far.
  • The npc update loop no longer blocks the main thread, an other source of freezes that was removed.

-Adjust upper limit for obtaining rare relics from 1 to 2
Even if rare relics are powerful, sometimes a random one may not be suitable for current team. So I think it might be better to have another chance to choose. In addition, it's also a chance to achieve stronger synergy by combining 2 rare relics.

-Add unlocked relic info in game record UI

-Solve the problem that [Loyalty Medal] triggers [Rush To Rescue] loop
2 units both with ability Rush To Rescue and rare relic Loyalty Medal, can trigger rush to rescue repeatly. That make those 2 units will never be defeated.

-[Magic Relaxer] adds description that it does not take effect on [Ease]

-[Archer Tower] renames [Shooting Platform], and [Extreme Maneuver] will not add [Fatigue] on it
