Thanks for tuning in, we've made some major changes to the game from the very beginning, all the way through to the newest episode. Previously, the story didn't have enough coherence...and since the main character uses magic from the very beginning, let's make him a wizard from a far away land, in the regular world for the the first time.
There's even more in the story, but the highlights for this build include the following:
About six thousand words of new story, including the revamped prologue, editorial changes throughout, and of course, the latest chapter.
250+ images, including a few animations
90+ new audio files...yes, that's right, there's the most audio I've ever added to a single update, since I went and retooled everything from the very beginning. I believe this makes it far more immersive, but you tell me.
Last but not least, spelling, grammar, and other fixes from the beginning, which were more than a few, and an image or two that wasn't right, etc.
I'm optimistic the updates make the experience far more enjoyable and entertaining.
Hello everyone! We’re hard at work getting a demo ready for the Steamfest in June. It aims to showcase the ideas we’re bringing to the table rather than being the final version of the mechanics you will find in Kalyskah. Still, I want to go over what you can expect:
Story
Our game is split into two eras: Prologue and Main-Story. During the prologue, you will control Kalyskah at the height of her power. The main story, on the other hand, starts when she wakes up in a world that no longer remembers her. With her power stored in a Blood Idol, she must start from scratch and rebuild everything she’s lost. The demo will be brief but it should be enough to hint at the major plot points of the game.
Side Content
The demo will also have a place called The Garden of Earthly Delights, run by a friendly but mysterious woman called Nemesis.
This is a place between realities where Kalysakh can sate both her lust and bloodlust. Keep in mind that our base game doesn't have explicit nudity or sexual content. However, you can unlock this content by using our free DLC. Unfortunately, since you won’t be able to activate DLCs on demos during Steamfest, this content will not be available for now. Also, some countries, such as Germany and China, block this kind of content altogether, so we won’t be able to distribute the DLC through Steam in these regions.
Combat
The demo won't contain the final and brutal vision we have for this vampire game. We’ve motion-captured new animations, but they will not be ready by June, so we’ll use placeholders for this demo. Here's a teaser of what we’ll be working with later this year.
RPG
Ours is a roleplaying game, and we want to make you feel like you’re living on the skin of this classic vampire. You’ll be able to harness the gifts of the blood to accomplish supernatural feats and dominate your foes. However, not everything is great for a vampire. You’ll have to deal with the weaknesses that come with your condition, such as garlic, the need for an invitation to get inside homes, the lack of a reflection and everything that makes Bram Stoker vampires shine. On top of that, you’ll need to blend in among the flock, hiding your true nature from those you seek to feed from and the hunters that would see you destroyed. The choices you make will not only shape Kalyskha’s disposition towards humans, but also influence how the world sees her. Most of these parts of the game are still a work-in-progress and we don’t feel like they are polished enough to be shown at an event as big as Steamfest. But we have added a few dialogues with choices so you can have an idea of how this system will work in the future. Will she forever remain the self-centred and arrogant cult leader, or will she understand that humans, despite being fragile, should be cherished and respected? The choice is yours.
Summon a diverse array of units, even the ones you corrupted yourself, in Revelatio. Utilize their skills and stigmata to strategically dominate the battlefield. Will you command with cunning or succumb to chaos?
Little Nemo and the Guardians of Slumberland Playtest - DIE SOFT
Okay, we’ve got a small one for this update, but I’m pretty excited about this work. The bulk of this update is just new assets being added that you won’t see yet. But here is the stuff that you might notice is new:
What’s New
My Alien Monster: You can now find your first Little Buddy in the Gumdrop Gardens. It’s tucked away in a little easy-to-find spot you’re likely to come across when you first arrive in this domain. It’ll follow you around and you can pick it up to have it eat enemies (some enemies it will spit back out).
Little Buddy Pathfinding Overhaul: Little Buddies now have a much easier time following Nemo around Slumberland. They no longer constantly teleport to you when getting left behind, and instead they will just jump right to a spot near you if they can’t find a safe way there, or if there’s nowhere safe for them to follow along, they’ll hitch a ride on your back for a bit!
Known Issues
I don’t think I know of any outstanding crashes or major issues at the moment.
Okay, that’s it for this one. Thank you for checking this out!
