Gatekeeper - d3lt4run3
Greetings, Gatekeepers!

Gatekeeper will launch in Early Access.

Yes, we realize that this decision may have its flaws, but we believe it is the right one. Please keep in mind that we are a tiny studio of 4 people: we genuinely want to bring the game to a perfect state, and without a constant flow of feedback from a lot of players this is nearly impossible under our circumstances.

Gatekeeper will be in Early Access for about a year, and during this year we'll be polishing the game, tweaking the balance and adding new content based on your reports. After all, that's what Early Access was originally designed for, not as an excuse for raw and buggy releases (which we hope is not our case at all). It will be a long but interesting journey, so let's make the most of it together!

Roadmap Reveal

In the initial days or weeks following the release, we'll focus on patching the game and fine-tuning the balance. After that, we'll dive straight into creating new content. We're eager to roll out the first major update on Steam as soon as possible!

Thank you,
Gravity Lagoon

Ultraleap Hyperion - MattFiler
Ultraleap Hyperion launches on Steam on the 22nd May! Read all about the improvements and new features coming in our sixth-generation tracking platform.

Key Takeaways:

  • New market-leading software platform that allows Ultraleap customers to customize hand tracking to suit their unique use cases
  • Ultraleap Hyperion now allows direct camera access to the Leap Motion Controller 2 camera hardware enabling new computer vision capabilities
  • The Leap Motion Controller 2 will now include a full commercial license for Ultraleap Hyperion in order to access the features

Ultraleap, a global leader in computer vision and machine learning, today launched Ultraleap Hyperion, the successor to the company’s world-leading hand-tracking software, Gemini.

Ultraleap Hyperion showcases a step change in the performance, power and flexibility of hand tracking. It is the world’s most flexible hand tracking platform, utilizing more than a decade of machine learning to meet customers’ specific needs and use cases. Unlike one-size fits all offerings currently on the market, Ultraleap Hyperion offers a combination of tracking models and modes to deliver a reliable, flexible solution that meets unique business needs.

Key Ultraleap Hyperion features include:

  • Microgesture interactions: Hyperion can track small finger movements down to the millimeter, enabling subtle gestures that require minimal effort.
  • Robust to handling objects: Hyperion offers superior hand tracking while holding an object in your hand, making it perfect for mixed reality. For example, while holding a physical prop, such as a welding torch, the hand tracking remains robust.
  • Object tracking: Hyperion allows the Leap Motion Controller 2 camera to track AR Markers (also known as fiducial markers) enabling tracking of any object.
  • Performance switching: Hyperion offers new modes that enable customers to get the best hand tracking performance for their use case. This includes a low-power mode that enables hand tracking to run with reduced power consumption and a high-performance mode that delivers accurate finger mapping with low latency when computer processing power is unrestricted.
  • Expanded tracking capabilities: Hyperion enables direct access to the Leap Motion Controller 2 stereo IR camera hardware, expanding its use to other computer vision tasks, like depth sensing, 3D scanning, and object tracking.

Ultraleap Hyperion was designed with headset manufacturers and application developers in mind. These additional features can be selected directly within the platform, without the need for computer vision experts or software engineers. To further give the power and control back to users, the Leap Motion Controller 2 now also comes bundled with a commercial licence to automatically access these features and use them to develop, use and sell new applications.

With Hyperion, Ultraleap can further train hand tracking models for additional specific use cases and custom-tune models within days rather than months, increasing a customer’s speed to market.

Ultraleap Hyperion is also compatible with a wide range of hardware solutions, including integrated XR headset cameras for SLAM or peripherals such as Ultraleap’s Leap Motion Controller 2. It will also support the requirements of the next generation of AR/MR devices where the form factors are substantially smaller in size, for example event sensors like Prophesee’s breakthrough GenX320 metavision sensor.

Tom Carter, CEO and Co-Founder of Ultraleap said: “Our team at Ultraleap has well over a decade of experience creating innovative market-leading hand tracking solutions, and with Hyperion we raise the bar again. Thanks to our machine learning and computer vision capabilities, Ultraleap Hyperion allows users to unlock the Leap Motion Controller 2’s broader computer vision capabilities, enabling a number of new tracking possibilities for our partners and customers. I’m excited to see what will be developed with these new computer vision capabilities and to work with our partners to create the next generation of spatial interactivity!”

"Partnering with Ultraleap has truly been exceptional," said Tom Calloway, Vice President of Navigation at Globus Medical. "I've been impressed by the ongoing enhancements in their computer vision and hand tracking technology, which align perfectly with our strategic goals. Hand tracking accuracy is crucial, particularly in reflecting the real-world conditions of an operating theater. This allows us to maintain our focus on driving innovation within our company, ultimately benefiting our patients.”

Ultraleap Hyperion is available today from the Ultraleap website, Amazon and select distribution partners, bundled with the Leap Motion Controller 2 and includes a licence for commercial use. For use with other camera configurations, please contact us. Ultraleap Hyperion (v6) replaces Gemini (v5), the previous version of software. For more information, visit ultraleap.com.

The Break-In - Oliver
Update 3 is now live! It includes a new level, 3 new gear items, 2 new getaways, new entry methods, and new security measures for you to avoid. As always, let me know what you think of the update in the comments, and tell me if you find any bugs!

Bank Level
People have been requesting a bank level since the game released in Early Access, and it's finally here with update 3. The main attraction is the large vault in the back, which has a double layer security system. The first pre-vault room is accessible through regular-style doors, although they're heavy barred doors which will be difficult to break down. The main vault area is behind a huge, unbreakable vault door which must be opened through a series of locks throughout the level. It's a tough task, but you'll be rewarded with gold, diamonds, cash, and priceless artworks if you can get inside.

Vaults
The bank vault is not the only one in the game. A hidden vault has also been added to the mansion level, with a secret stash of valuable items inside. To open a vault, you'll need to open 3 randomised locks scattered around the level. They can be either simple buttons, keycard scanners, or retina scanners. On levels with a vault, there will be a vault room which will show you your progress towards opening it. Security lasers may also be present, which will trigger an alarm and call the cops if you touch them.

Vents and Chimneys
Sick of going through the front door like a loser? Now you can sneak in through the vent system, or climb down the chimney like a burglary santa claus. These provide cool new ways to get in and out, or to hide from NPCs.

New Gear
An old favourite, the rope launcher, is returning to the game. It is now purchaseable again, and can be used to create climbable lines to easily access rooftops. It has the added functionality of breaking anything you shoot with it, from doors to people! There is also a new ball and chain item, which can be used to slow down residents to make them easier to manage and/or steal. The final new item is the attachable wheel, which can be stuck to heavy stealables to allow you to easily wheel them away to your getaway.

New Getaways
To bridge the gap between the pickup truck and Dave's van, a new purchaseable ambulance getaway vehicle has been added. It's a little more spacious than the pickup, and has a cool siren for when you leave the mission. There is also a new secret getaway vehicle which can be unlocked!

Breakers
To help you deal with all the new security measures, each level now contains at least one breaker switch, which will disable lights, cameras, and lasers in an area. Darkness has also been buffed, so killing the lights and hiding in the shadows is now a valid option. Just be careful on larger levels, as some breakers might be alarmed! Check the intel board in your getaway vehicle to see which one to avoid.

Thank you to everyone who continues to play and enjoy the game! I hope this update gives you fresh new challenges and fun times. I'll be working on bugfixes over the next few weeks, before starting work on the next update.

About 63 Days ⤵️

It is our second game in RTT (real-time tactics) genre with twin-stick shooter elements. once again fans of strategy games with a passion for the WWII setting will be delighted! ːISD_Skullː

Coming of age as a part of the first generation born free, WWII stripped me of my family, home, and future. Now I'm left with only one choice: to get my revenge and independence, or die trying. The odds are against us: will our tactics, stealth and teamwork be enough? 👀

Wherever our uprising takes us, our bravery will be remembered for generations. Our story will be told, there will be enough survivors to tell the tale. We'll employ good tactics, be fearless, be like ghosts.

We know how to fight. We prefer to be stealthy, to maximize our chances, minimize our losses. But if that approach fails us, we'll shoot our way through.

In other exciting news, Bone Nail Studio's new game is in the works! We expect to unveil the page in May, and if all goes well, you might be able to play the demo as early as June! The working title for this new game is " Cookthulu." Embark on a solitary culinary adventure and exploration in the polar regions!

Of course, you'll encounter all sorts of amazing companions along the way. Currently, the companions are 33% human.

Okay, let's cut to the chase! This time, it's an adventure game about cultivating and raising magical creatures through delicious food!

As for the new game set in " Yog-Sothoth's Yard " series universe, it's still in the works. The scriptwriter needs more time to conceive and write the story. We're grateful to everyone who plays our games, and we hope to live up to your love and support. If you have any opinions or suggestions for us, please keep sending them our way! We absolutely adore them!

With the help of enthusiastic group friends, I finally managed to buy size 42 JK shoes. The unlocked cosplay from the crowdfunding will happen in May!
Scramble: Battle of Britain - daniela.s
Aircraft in Scramble simulate in 3D space with six degrees of freedom: three degrees for XYZ position, and three degrees for rotation about the XYZ axes. Simulation is the foundation of Scramble gameplay depth, and analog control of the airplanes allows players to replicate most of the maneuvers they are familiar with from real-world aerobatics and dogfighting, but controlling airplanes is a hard problem to begin with, and designing a control scheme for the turn-based environment of Scramble proved one of the longest lasting challenges our team faced.

In Flight School Lesson 4 we will introduce you to the Turn/Climb Assist – our default Scramble control scheme – and we will explain how it couples some traditional aircraft control inputs to provide an intuitive piloting experience for all players, regardless of their familiarity with piloting airplanes.

Traditional Aircraft Control

Most aircraft orient their movement through 3D space with control surfaces aligned to three primary axes of rotation:

Elevators control aircraft pitch, an angle defined relative to the wing axis, from level flight the angle of the nose up and down relative to the horizon.

Ailerons control aircraft roll, an angle defined relative to the fuselage axis, from level flight this is the angle of the wings tilted relative to the horizon.

Rudders control aircraft yaw, an angle defined relative to a vertical axis going up from the belly through the canopy of the airplane, from level flight this is the angle of the nose pointed left to right along the horizon.

Our goal in Scramble is to provide a dogfighting experience that is more approachable than most real-time flight games offer, and three-axis aircraft control is a hard skill to teach. This difficulty is compounded by the turn-based nature of Scramble, where inputs remain fixed for the duration of our two-second turns, so the change to a straightforward control input like “roll” at the beginning of a turn may interpolate to an off-axis orientation when coupled with pitch and yaw inputs for multiple seconds.

Turn/Climb Assist

Most players expect to sit at a keyboard or pick up a controller and point the nose of their aircraft left or right and up or down, so Scramble: Battle of Britain comes packaged with a Turn/Climb controls assist to let them play exactly this way.

The Turn/Climb assist consolidates aircraft control down to two axes:

The Climb Axis operates similarly to the traditional elevator axis, pointing the nose of the aircraft up (to climb) or down (to dive) relative to its initial orientation.

The Turn Axis couples the traditional roll and yaw aircraft inputs into a single Turn command, and it will generally turn an aircraft left or right. With small inputs, the turn command will operate primarily in yaw. Large Turn inputs will both yaw and roll an aircraft, coordinating turns and generally resulting in a piloting experience that is still aggressive but stable and predictable.

Play How You Want

Scramble will launch with the Turn/Climb Assist enabled by default, but players will have the option of reverting to traditional 3-axis aircraft control whenever they want (even for a single turn).

Piloting aircraft almost always requires coordination of all three control axes, and the Turn/Climb assist will satisfy the majority of aircraft control needs. But for special cases where a player desires additional roll or yaw authority, or for players who authentically prefer traditional aircraft control in Scramble, the Traditional scheme is a single click away.
