Hey Anno Community,

Prepare yourself a cup of steamy tea and get ready for a nice read because today, after much teasing, it is finally time to dive into our upcoming Cosmetic DLC: the Steampunk Pack! If you watched our End-of the-Year livestream back in December, you might have noticed a small teaser that redirected you to a mysterious page set up by none other than Old Nate, who was secretly “leaking” important information and clues on the content of the Steampunk Pack. Safe to say we got that situation under control now… right?

Unreal new skins
The focus of this Cosmetic DLC is innovation and progress, which perfectly marries with the overall vibe of Anno 1800 and the Industrial Revolution era. However, with the Steampunk Pack, you’ll discover a new peculiar side to the age of innovation: steam-powered machinery and aesthetics, highly advanced, but quite unnecessary in application. This was the humorous twist that Laura – Prop Artist on Anno and self-appointed CDLC Overlord – wanted to give to this pack, and we are all for it. The Dragonfly Man taking off to the sky from the “Unreal University” is a perfect example of this, don’t you think?

The University building is not the only one receiving a new skin with the Steampunk Pack. This pack also includes skins for the Investors’ residences and the Church, that will be transformed into the “Temple of Progress”: considering the huge telescope towering over the building, the name sounds like perfect fit. Who knows what they will find?



It’s all in the details
Is it getting steamy in here or is there a bath house in your city? The biggest ornament of this CDLC is the Steam Spa, the place that will make your residents relax and forget about their daily worries. Plus, it’s all automated! Of course, the Steam Spa is only one of the many ornaments in this pack, all characterised by moving clogs and wheels, almost mesmerising your residents: from a beautiful Celestial Fountain surrounded by bubbly steam to a small aquarium hosting the most exotic underwater creatures. However, one statue reigns supreme in this pack: Eva.Porator, an ornament that emblematically symbolises one of the biggest inspirations of this pack, Metropolis – a German science-fiction film from the 1920s.



Celestial tiling and bronze lining
Needless to say, we are obsessed with the colour theme in this pack: from the metallic shades of bronze and gold shining under the light of the sun to the celestial blues of the ground tiles and building windows. This colour in the different tiles, as well: not just one, but three different tiles for you to build the perfect paths and plazas around your cities.

All aboard the New Era Express!
It wouldn’t be a Steampunk Pack worthy of its name without a train skin, don’t you think? Well, in this CDLC you get two of them! The “Steamliner” and the “New Era Express”. And speaking of means of transport, the flagship is completely unrecognisable with the “Nautilus” skin, a beautiful reference to the fictional submarine belonging to Captain Nemo in Jules Verne’s “Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas”.




The Steampunk Pack will be available starting 14th May on PC and consoles, for the usual price of 4.99€ or your regional equivalent.

Hello Pet Shop Fans! 👋

We’re excited to see you in the first devlog since the release of Pet Shop Simulator: Prologue! 🤩 Once again, we’d like to thank everyone for trying the Prologue version and all the feedback we’ve received from you thus far. It gave us a lot of insight into what expectations you’ve got for the game and we’re currently doing our best to make the best use of what you’ve told us! 👍

With that being said, there’s a lot to be done before the release of the full version (which will happen soon… 😏) Lots of technical work on top of the changes you’ve suggested as well as creative work such as creating models.

Prologue allowed you to see some of the animals but just as we promised, there are more available in the full version and today you can take a look at more of them!

Those of you who already played the Prologue know very well that the animals need regular care. Keeping the cages clean and the pets well-fed is a bare minimum but some additional belly scratches or petting will surely not go unnoticed! 🐢

We’d also like to share a new object- a self-service cash register! This new item will undoubtedly help to save time and relegate the work power to other important areas of the shop. 💰

These checkouts will sometimes require either you or one of your employees to approach and authorize the purchase. This situation is indicated by a red diode over the register. 🔴 Keep in mind that the longer you make them wait for authorization, the more likely it is to make him upset and leave the shop without buying anything.

  • Added a world boss: the Sandworm. The sandworm will spawn inside of sandstorms. It drops materials for crafting the best helms and tribrid armor currently in the game (note: these currently dont have any visuals made yet). They don't walk, but it doesnt mean they cant get ya 😉
  • Added a new pet: the Capybara! Get this friendly creature at the cash shop for 600 BX!
  • Added an Alchemy spell that turns an item into caps at 40% of its value
  • New login screen with a cowboy that talks to you and gives advice on game status!
  • Login session will also be maintained for up to 24 hours (backend limitation)
  • Certain buttons on mobile are now twice as large
  • Increased animal hide chances from hunting (about 50% more hides now)
  • Adjusted leatherwork crafting exp values (more exp in lower levels, less exp at higher levels)
  • Adjusted tree tiers level requirements to be every 12 levels (was 15).
  • Hit chance calculations now factor in your distance to your target. Adjusted stat buffs on ranged weapons as a result
  • Added a new setting: camera smoothing slider. Increasing this might make it easier to click on stuff while moving.
  • Added a new status effect: Slow. Self-explanatory
  • Added a subtle sway to harvestable plants to help differentiate them from collision and decoration tiles.

We want to take a moment to share some important news regarding the early access release of our game. As you know, we had initially set the release for May 23rd, but with new stretch goals to work on, plus plenty of amazing feedback and suggestions from our community, we’re shifting that slightly. We’re now going to be launching into Early Access on Steam on June 4th, 2024.

We are taking some extra time to add the last bits of content and to polish everything to ensure the game meets your expectations and ours. This includes balancing gameplay based on the feedback we’ve received, which has been incredibly insightful and constructive.

We understand that changes in scheduling can be disappointing, but please know this decision is a result of our commitment to making sure you get the most enjoyment out of our game.

We’d like to express our deepest thanks to you all for your understanding and the ongoing feedback, with a special shoutout to our Discord community and our Beta Testers🫶 — you guys are amazing and a vital part of this process. We’re excited to bring you a game that reflects our shared passion and enthusiasm.💖

As well as ongoing development, we’re also in the process of setting up the post Kickstarter campaign Pledgemanager together with Backerkit.
