This area has always harbored a mad cult. In the past, these lands were inhabited by Native Americans with their ancient beliefs. Even today, one can find their remains. In the caves, paintings attract archaeologists. The Indians believed in the power of the mountain, which occasionally awakens the sleeping god Huehuecoyotl with a coyote's head. This was called the Night of the Coyote. The coyote would take the sanity of adults and kidnap children. Wooden masks were meant to protect against this, designed to deceive Huehuecoyotl. When he was hungry, he would ignite fires by throwing lightning or flood the crops with sudden storms. These beliefs formed the basis of the cult, which over time blamed new arrivals and modernity for the sudden cataclysms in the region. See what the design process looked like:
When the HARM research center was established, the local community sabotaged the research. When the source of HARM's research became unstable, nearby villages were evacuated. After the disaster, not only did the weather go mad, but so did those who remained. Mad cultists in wooden masks began hunting other people who came here and sacrificing them to the angered mountain.
Cultists will be the main adversaries in the game and a significant threat to the player.
I've added a setting to switch the aspect ratio between wide and standard. You can find this setting both in the configuration phase at the beginning of the game (the little gear icon on the left) and in the OS toolbar (on the settings page). This should allow players with very large or very small monitors to have a normal gaming experience, even though the game was designed using the classic 16:9 aspect ratio.
CHANGELOG:
Added the aspect ratio setting to the OS toolbar.
Added the aspect ratio setting to the initial OS configuration screen.
Welcome, rulers of the Hexworld! Today is a special day, as we are celebrate the 1-year anniversary of Hexworld going Early Access. It was an incredible journey, and we'd never be able to go as far if not for you all. Just take a look how far we've progressed thanks to your love and support:

Hexworld is slowly moving towards its final development phase. We'd really like to announce 1.0, but there are still several annoying issues in the core gameplay which we'd really like to address first, and for that we'll need to make some daring jumps into the uncharted Aether. We are also aware of the feedback for the Swarm update and working on the most troublesome issues. For the upcoming patch we've prepared some important performance optimizations which should address some of the CPU and GPU bottlenecks and make game more playable on the low-end hardware. If you'd be still experiencing issues after that, please contact us on the Discord or Steam, so we can give your issue a proper attention.
Thank you very much for being with us. If you feel so, please drop by in our Discord and give us some cheers!
The inhabitants of the Dakiru Islands surprised the discoverers with their culture. To show their status in society, they wear a vandekhura, a headdress made of hair and feathers. The longer and larger the feathers, the higher the position the person occupies.
On the continent, this headdress became a way to show one's wealth. The first vandekhuru imported cost a lot of money, and only nobles could afford them. Within a few years, human and demon craftsmen began making their own vanderhoorus, causing their value to plummet.
However, this vandehuru is original, produced by the Dakiru Islanders. Such headdresses are still valuable, especially among lovers of the islanders' culture.
