Our development and content design teams are working on several systems and mechanics, design elements, further refining the map, and the first events to prepare Gilded Destiny for the Alpha release. Read below for a rough timeline of the milestones we plan to reach over the next few months!
What we accomplished in April:
In the past month, we are happy to share that we've completed the first draft of provincial borders on the map. We expect to further refine these borders based on gameplay considerations, aesthetic considerations, events, future historical research, and ultimately community feedback. Also, our team has completed the redesign of the Trade and Logistics Systems, which are now in the final phase of implementation into the game. The Content Design team has finished working out the mechanics for the Diplomacy system (the next step is refining the UI and inputting into the game).
Take a look below at some early screenshots of terrain from Europe and California, and some high-level maps showing the outlines of each province (the thin gray lines within each country) around the globe. Also, please note: These will not be not standard views in the game, i.e., terrain and provinces will not usually be visible zoomed out this far.
First Draft of Completed Provincial Borders
Preview of Terrain across Europe and California (Not yet finalized)
End of May
First Draft of Technology - Finalize Research Mechanics. - Organize the 3 Tech Trees—Academia, Industry, and Military—and determine research progression through their respective techs.
First Draft of Major Prussian Events - As one of the pivotal countries in the time period, we are starting with Prussia to test and build out our event system.
Cities and Major Terrain features for Europe, China, and North America - As the provincial borders are now roughly set, we plan to shift our focus to placing cities and terrain features. We expect these to roughly follow the real-world terrain. However, some adjustments will be made for playability.
Input the new Military UI - Along with the new UI we plan to include Recruitment, the Regiment Template Builder, and Army Management Panels
End of June
Content for Military Units - This includes removing some placeholders and naming Military Units, along with refining the stats for each unit type
Add cities and major terrain features for Russia, the rest of Asia, and Central and South America
Add resources to the map for Europe - This involves adding natural resources to the map, and determining which climates are suitable for growing which crops in plantations. In Gilded Destiny, terrain and natural resources will have an impact on gameplay.
Add provincial data for Prussia - This involves researching and inputting population data for each Prussian province (such as the number of people and the distribution of cultures, religions, and professions).
Finalize the new Diplomacy System - In June, our programmers will implement the redesign of the diplomacy system into the game. We redesigned the diplomacy system based on how Gilded Destiny has evolved—Dev Diary coming soon!
Input the revised and updated Leader System, including new UI and mechanics
Input the revised and updated Construction and Building System, including new UI and mechanics
As our goals and expectations evolve, and as these milestones are reached, we will keep you updated!
Thanks for your support and for reading! May your day be a gilded one!
Guess who’s back with yet another grab-bag of a devlog! As always, we prepared a few topics from our Development HQ that we can share and we hope you’ll enjoy what we have in store. So without further ado, let’s start with a deep dive into…
THE BOTTOMLESS PITS
Every game worth its salt must have bottomless pits… or at least that’s the case for the Fleapit. A lot of players were wondering if they could fall into the pits found everywhere across the dungeon crawling section and were (apparently) disappointed when that wasn’t the case.
Well, congrats y'all, because we’re granting your wish to yeet yourselves into the void. Better watch your steps now cuz one wrong jump could become your doom (or take 1HP away from you, to be precise)
This is yet to be implemented in the actual build, so please enjoy this new enemy pattern with a placeholder sprite and a sneaky mini-map on the right
HERE COME THE NEW CHALLENGERS
Speaking of more enemies: The Circles of Hell are chock full of all manner of dangerous creatures, and we captured got a few of those we can show off today!
Introducing the new demons straight from the deeper layers of Limbo: Bookworm, Coffee Maniac, and Archigoat! Feel free to speculate what their attack patterns are gonna be like, and what other demons might lurk deep within the Bureaucratic Inferno.
NEW PERKS & SKILLS
But that’s not all! We recently finished outlining some of the new perks and skills that you’ll encounter later in the game, and we can even tease what a couple of them will do:
Card Shark: Get one extra perk to choose from a chest Barmaid’s Special: If Andy has all three types of HP, deal 150% more damage
We’ll be showcasing more of these in future devlogs, so stay stoked, and stay tuned for that!! Until then, feel free to throw your suggestions our way and maybe they might make it into the game . . .
FLEAPIT’S DEMO IS… IN ENGLISH??
We’ve been talking about the Japanese VO for Fleapit so much, but we’ve been working hard on getting the full English VO for that demo in the background. Expect the Actual Announcement some time soon, but for now we can give you just a tiny teaser!
FLEAPIT’S QUICK TRIVIA BIT: THALES
A literal encyclopedia about the whole of Inferno found in the depths of Limbo. Despite his status as a literal bastion of knowledge, this scholar's main personality points fall somewhere between: extremely arrogant or extremely horny. …Maybe that talking tie wasn’t so bad after all?
That’s all the updates we have for today! Thank you for stopping by, and see you in the next Fleapit Direct (as always, available one week earlier for our Patreon supporters, hit us up on Patreon to learn more)
Until then, don’t forget to follow us on Twitter (or X, or whatever it's called today) and join the Freaked Fleapit Discord server to stay up to date on all the latest news and other degenerate antics!
it's a reupload from playtest community page (yea i accidentally posted it there oopsie)
To our incredible playtesters & supporters: we couldn't have made this game, this special without you! Your feedback, enthusiasm, and support mean the world to us. And of course, thank you to our families and friends for always believing in us.Let’s move on to the devlog!
Playtesting Update
Playtesting phase has ended and with that we were able to fix and modify alot of stuff that was not annoying to us but to others.. this playtest helped us identify all those cracks and fix it. First playtesting was a disaster with almost 80% users couldn't play the game.. we fixed this by migrating to a new project as it was some Godot Engine's bug that made it occur. then the playtesting went fine.. well it was joined by many but all of us know not everyone is dedicated and are there just for fun of it.. we had few playtesters but it was fine since the game itself is not that big.
135 Joined by which 20 or so helped with playtesting
This was the first phase of playtesting, we are working towards the 2nd and final phase after that the demo will be released to the public.
Demo Roadmap
Demo will include everything that has been done till 80% completion of the game.. which will include 3 enemies and 2 maps and the leaderboard database will be entirely separate from the main game. No Story or lore, A game with everything a demo should include to entice players to get the full version.
Now since this is a devlog, let's talk about the game itself
Game's Status
in November 2023 when we started working on this game, we were playing around with different shaders for that kind of UNIQUE art style.. we messed up in alot of spaces but in the end we settled with a one true art style for the game.. how you can define it is "Dual Tone, 3D Pixelated Art Style" we were at first planning to make it a PSX Styled game but it is way overused nowadays so while also using that style witih models, we added our own taste in it.
Visual Style and Behind the Scenes
Ew
Ewer
wth is this..
and this...
we are getting close to final art style
cheap ahhhh level design attempt
look at this abomination
our failed try at making procedural spider animations
Player
Let's talk a bit about Player shall we.. So the player model is literally just a capsule collider. nothing more to it. we added hands to make it look natural tho, and it sure does..
What player movement offers:
Movement based on the mix of old school shooters and new gen fast paced shooters.
Jumping, Crouching, Sliding and other small mechanics
Camera Shakes (you can turn them on or off)
Camera tilting when moving left or right to give that sweet juice (also toggleable)
Jumping, Landing and Weapon animations
Player's main weapons are Dual Wielded Pistols also known as Twins
Secondary Weapon is a shotgun known as Chrono-Burst. We are still working on it's model and mechanics so there's nothing to show right now.
Menu and HUD
This is what the menu looks as of Playtest version 0.4, expected to change but not that much.
This is what in-game HUD looks as of Playtest version 0.4, expected to change but not that much.
Main Objective of the Game
So you must be wondering if it's like all those other arena shooters where you endlessly slay enemies till u die. well its not like that at all.. we've changed quite a few mechanics from your traditional arena shooter..
Instead of being it endless waves of enemies. we made it so it's a 5 Wave (may change later) Run. and Time spent indicator you saw above is basically how long will it take you to beat all the enemies.. yes it's a speed running game. Speaking of enemies.. there are only three as of now..
Enemies
There are three types of enemies right now in the game.. we are planning to expand upon their variations aswell.. like for Svider we are planning to add different variations which will do different kind of damage to player and so on.
Skulls: Flying skulls that moves towards you like they got some grudge against you or something.. they are one shot but they usually travel in packs. if you destroy them they will respawn from the Tomb. unless you destroy the Tomb itself.
Svider: Spider but with the V. it doesn't hurt you but it will slow you down, well i lied, it kinda does hurt you.. not the slow making one but it's other variation which we will add later.. Poison and some other lethal stuff hehe..
Dynamight: Have you ever heard of Creeper from that nobody game "Minecraft"? yea? thats basically what this dude does. well it will roam around map freely if it spots you it will chase you to the deepest of hells and once near it will explode. (Minecraft don't sue us pls)
Their renders will be shown in the next devlog
RELEASE DATE???
now we are at what you might've been waiting for. well the planned release date was March of 2024 but as you know its been delayed quite much.. now the planned release date is most likely August of 2024. We are avoiding June/July because of steam's summer sale going on. DEMO will be released in June's Next Fest InshaAllah, although we are not participating in next fest unfortunately since deadline was in feb. Demo date is 10th JUNE 2024
this was suppose to be a 6 month game which is taking us almost 9-10 months.. well expected since we are two man team and both are really good procrastinator..
for two months this game will be solo developed by me (Rayyan) so expect some more slow updates.. but InshAllah.. we planned for August let's go for August!!
With Memorial Day soon approaching in the US and sales having slowed down over time, I think this is now the moment to transition Mazes and Labyrinths to a free release.
For those that purchased the game, I greatly appreciate your support. I hope to continue to release other games and projects for you and anyone else to enjoy. For everyone else that found this announcement, if Mazes and Labyrinths interests you, you will be able to play the game for free starting on May 17th,
Dark Moon thrusts you into a harrowing future set on the desolate lunar landscape. In the unforgiving year of 2077, humanity's fledgling foothold on the Moon teeters on the brink of collapse. What was once a beacon of progress has been ravaged by a cataclysmic solar flare, reducing the lunar colonies to ruins and shrouding them in darkness.
As the player, you awaken amidst the chaos, cut off from civilization and left to navigate the twisted remnants of lunar infrastructure. Communication is severed, and survival becomes a desperate struggle in this hostile, dystopian world. The technology that surrounds you is a haunting blend of futuristic marvels and the eerie echoes of abandoned lunar plans, a stark reminder of humanity's relentless drive for expansion.
Drawing inspiration from the blueprints of space agencies and private enterprises, Dark Moon immerses you in a grim, gritty vision of lunar colonization. Brace yourself for an odyssey through the shadows of a shattered dream, where every step could be your last in this unforgiving lunar wasteland.
An early concept of a lunar train
Who you are?
Once a respected member of the Engineering Council dispatched by Moon Shell, your mission seemed straightforward: supervise the implementation of an advanced mining system on the unforgiving lunar surface. However, the stark simplicity of this task crumbled beneath the weight of an unforeseen catastrophe.
A colossal solar storm, an act of celestial wrath, descended upon Earth with merciless fury, obliterating all electronics in its voracious path. As chaos reigned, the blinding rage of the Sun's scorching rays engulfed the Moon's main communication relay, leaving it a smoldering ruin in the unyielding light.
Now, you find yourself stranded and isolated, a solitary figure in the desolation of a lunar wasteland consumed by the relentless glare of the Sun. The once-promising outpost is now a graveyard of shattered dreams, everything within the Sun's reach reduced to ash in mere moments.
In this twisted reality, light is not a source of hope but a harbinger of destruction. Embrace the shadows, for they are your only refuge in this relentless battle for survival amidst the suffocating darkness of the lunar expanse.

Dark Moon timeline
2032 - Global powers, including US, China, Russia and EU engage in the Global Trade War in order to gain control over Earth’s strategic resources.
2034 - Climate crisis, mass migration and starvation in South America results in the formation of a superstate USAN (Union of South American Nations) composed of most of the countries on the continent.
2035 - Economic warfare fueled the innovation in the resource mining sector, and due to that massive states gained additional independence from global trade chains.
2038 - African Union collapses due to conflicts of the Nile Delta and its dams. Arabian League supports Egypt, exacerbating the geopolitical differences on the continent.
2045 - The unprecedented economic recession and climate change force civilization states to stop the Global Trade War and partially restore the global trade chains. However, the major players are on their way to secure their own resource independence from the global market.
2046 - The beginning of the Resource Wars. This is a series of proxy conflicts between the major players trying to secure the resources in the weaker and divided parts of the Earth. The players for each region are: Middle East: European Federation, Russia, and the USA Oceania: CANZUK, China, India, and the USA Africa: CANZUK, European Federation, China Central America: The USA and USAN
2055 - Due to the severe depletion of resource deposits in the Earth's crust, the Civilization States begin their efforts in space. First lunar mining operations of a large scale are initialized. However, due to the lack of space law, slowly smaller conflicts between the Civilization States are on the horizon.
2066 - The Moon Shell company is founded together with the Moon Rush project, which is the first cooperative effort to lessen the chances of conflicts for space resources.
2072 - The outstanding success of the Moon Rush project and its Moon Shell Corporation ends the Resource Wars.

Hey everyone, I'm just letting you know you're in one big announcement instead of spamming multiple announcements that Waste Walkers and Disgraced are getting a new patch shortly.
The patch makes it so that when the party has more members than can be active at once, the reserve members will get 50% extra experience than how it was. That means it's going from 10% to 60% just like in Lawless Lands and Chaos Chain.
