Update #2 is in Progress!

Hey y'all!

It's been good to see that the changes from UPDATE #1 went through without a hitch, and that you all have appreciated the little changes. Thanks again to those of you who are active and talking about the game, it's been helping!

UPDATE #2 is going to be coming soon! This next update will address some bigger fixes that are affecting a small subset of players, albiet in big ways. Along with some other quality of life tweaks, these are the two major items that will be addressed for the next update:

  • DISAPPEARING ACHIEVEMENTS: Like I said in the last update's notes, we're looking into fixing a problem wherein some players are having some of their achievements disappearing from Steam after certain playthroughs.
  • PLAYTHROUGH ERROR: Some players have begun to encounter an error screen after completing the game for the first time. There was previously only one instance of a player encountering this issue post-launch, but as more instances have occurred, it's now become something that needs looking into. There are a few patterns I've been able to see, but in order to know for sure, please report in the Discussion posts if you come across the error screen seen below.


UPDATE #2 will come as soon as I can know for sure that these two issues have been addressed, and that players will no longer encounter either problem when the update goes live. If all goes well, that will be very soon! Please make sure to report any errors you see, or if you encounter either error listed above (bonus if you can describe how you received it!). I'll keep y'all posted!

We have come a long way since the time we went into Early Access and now we're here with a game that we're proud to call ours. We thank all our players for all the feedback, the discussions and the support. We know it's as cheesy as it gets, but we wouldn't be here without your help.

Also special thanks to all those who took their time to write detailed negative comments and ripped us a new one. It has helped us improve, a lot. We're glad to see that most of those comments turned positive as we kept developing. We'll keep doing our best.

Betrayal Beach - Jared N
Greetings Survivors,
As you have read from the title, Betrayal Beach will be available for free on May 6th! I'm very excited to release the game to the world. You can expect some posts on my social medias starting next week, so follow me on Twitter, Youtube, and Tiktok if you would like some sneak peeks.

I have been hard at work getting the game ready for launch. Implementing some final systems, squashing bugs, and polishing. But the launch will not be the end of development. I will continue to work on it, fixing bugs and implementing player feedback. Additionally there are a few more gameplay systems I'd like to add as well.

Witchcraft, rituals, lies or sincerity - do whatever it takes, since the fate of the entire village depends on whether you succeed in the Great Ritual or not.

Update Content

The following additions have been made to Bar in update version Alpha v0.1.0:

-Added a material indicator next to the start run button that shows the materials that can be obtained through that specific bar.

-Added the Color Ball mechanic. Once per day, a color ball will appear on one of the bar types. The Color Ball will appear randomly in the run on that bar, and will provide large amounts of materials and splotches when clicked. The amount of rewards you receive depends on how many total Color Balls you have found and your achievement level.

Upcoming Content
I have big plans coming soon to Bar! The beta content update is being worked on and will add a large number of features to the game.



The hope is to almost double the amount of content in the game. The beta version of Bar would have the initial release and additional updates as well. Once I am satisfied with the beta, I will move onto the next large content update.

Roadmap



The current plan is to have four major content updates in total, with the last one being the full release. Between these updates would be fixes, minor content updates, and balance changes. Bar is still fairly early in development, so this plan could change. However, the hope is that nothing has to change and Bar will be smoothly developed.

Please feel free to leave feedback, whether it is positive or negative. I want Bar to be a great game that many people can enjoy.

So, we've posted lore, music, writing, atmosphere, visuals and stuff before - of course that's important stuff but this time it's time for gameplay mechanics instead 👾
We've got a playable build/testing ground for different game modes - this build's got 4, but way more to go :)

Technically, the current design is superior and will allow us to make the battles more interesting, fitted to music, adaptable, satisfying... well, in theory, all that jazz :)

...Don't just take my word for it, but the team agrees that what we have already has a much better feel and way more potential than the battles in the previous game demo 🥲 hooray for modular design!

Nope, this one's unique! Ward is just playing an old video game. Not to say other fights won't be unique, but they'll be visually way more "realer" and fitted to the respective ingame sceneries.

ARE THERE ONLY 4 GAME MODES?
No - more's to come, that's just the modes working in this current build!

HOW MANY FIGHTS WILL THERE BE IN THE GAME?
At least 10, but maybe more for the type of felek keen to explore...
