Back in 2019 when we first designed SMYS : Show Me Your Stairs, it was quite different from what it is today.
The game had no bonuses, no minigames, no collection system, no games modes, and it was entirely focused on the stairs building aspect. It was quite a simple game but happened to grow into something way bigger than what we planned for.
This is why I eventually decided to publish a 'Classic' version of the game, the game almost as we first designed it.
Here is a look at one of the first concept art we made for the game :
And here is a screenshot from the Classic version today :
It looks similar to the main game mode from the final version of the project, but plays different. There is a lot more strategy that comes into play as both collecting items and building stairs happen at the same time, which adds a resource management aspect to the game.
Also compared to the first design, and as we added bonuses to the final version, I decided to keep some of them in the Classic version, including : Bomb, Upside Down, Smoke Bomb, Items Generation, and Structural Reinforcement. Not having them in the game seemed like missing on so much fun and we might have had them added to the game anyway so here you have it.
Shared Costumes DLC
The Classic version featuring way less content than the final version I decided to release it for free. However, if you enjoy the game and would like to support us into its further development I encourage you to either get the Costumes DLC or the final version of the game.
Note that the Costumes DLC is available for both the Classic version and the final version, DONT BUY IT TWICE. This DLC is shared between both games and owning it for either versions grants you access to the DLC content in BOTH games.
It's time! After nearly a year in Early Access I'm proud to announce that Infinite Mana finally has a release date: Tuesday, May 28th, 2024!
The game is essentially playable from start to finish at this point, but I'd like to spend the time leading up to release to put the final polish on the game. Check out the release date trailer:
Here is some extra detail from Patreon that I thought I should include here as well:
I want to thank everyone who has supported me and the game. It's been a very long journey and I appreciate everyone who has taken the time to play the game, report bugs, and be a part of the community.
Patreon has helped with a lot of things including website hosting fees, advertising, assets, and more. A lot of people have been subbed since I opened the Patreon, and I want to include you as a character in the final game. There is a Top Patron role that says you'll get an in-game character as long as you subbed for one month, but if you've subbed for the other tiers for many months that add up to Top Patron, I'd like to add you as well, If you're a little shy of that tier, that's okay too. Please reach out to me either on Discord, Twitter, or Patreon and we'll start that process.
Now, really... what's next? Even though the game will be finished very soon, I do have plans for more content, and some of it you can see in the images attached to this post. I'm not sure of the timeline for this content, but essentially I want players to explore the rest of the Far West at some point. There will be more details in the coming months but I did want to share that this isn't the end for Infinite Mana!
With all that being said, there will be a final trailer as well before the actual release so stay tuned to that (Added above!). Thanks everyone!
a demo version will be available soon! We would like to accommodate our users and offer them the opportunity to test the game in advance. In this version you can play the game in its entirety to familiarize yourself with the game, even if it's just a little game to play in between. The multiplayer is also playable in the demo.
At the moment we are still waiting for Steam to release the game demo.
I would like to ask you once again to refrain from buying the game for the time being. Instead, I cordially invite you to try it out. If you like it, you can still make a decision. I had originally planned to remove the game from the store as it has generated very little interest. However, it is important to me to find users who are not only interested in a collection, but who actually enjoy playing the game. The demo version is my answer to those who are against removing it from the Steam store.
Should the situation change, I will reconsider my decision on whether or not to keep the game. Please keep in mind that it is currently discouraged from purchase. Please wait until the demo is online. There you will have the opportunity to test the game completely in advance.
You will be notified as soon as the demo is available.
Endless mode is our latest game mode release, and a long awaited feature for many players. This game mode allows you to play Wastelander without turn limits, on a MASSIVE map and push your base building skills to the limit without being limited by the length of the game.
Create massive and intricate colonies over a large number of turns.
The goal in endless mode is to accumulate enough resources to activate the optional "Repair Ship" ability in order to escape the planet and survive!
Engineering Lab
For balance reasons, the Metallurgy Lab deployment does not exist in Endless Mode, and has been replaced with the Engineering Lab.
This will unlock the "Upgrade Storage" ability. This costly ability allows you to upgrade a basic storage building into it's deployment counterpart regardless of the underlying tile type. Use it wisely!
Performance improvements
Endless mode required us to overcome some major performance hurdles for the game. Due to the dramatically larger size of the Endless map we had to rewrite a lot of the engine. Creating games, loading games, idle FPS and click performance all got significant performance improvements in ALL game modes.
Miscellaneous
Tectonic engine description stated that the effect had no radius cap. This was incorrect it was actually capped at 5 radius. For balance reasons we kept it this way and updated the description to match.
Reduced the amount of scroll wheel steps required to go from max to min zoom.
Improved loading menu to be more clear about progress and not lock up the process.
General string and clarity improvements throughout the entire game.
This marks the final major planned feature for our Early Access goals. We'll be continuing to work on the game for the next several weeks and we'll likely release a series of polish and improvement patches, at which point we'll remove the Early Access state from Wastelander and decide what the next steps for development are at that point!
Thanks for your support and we'd love to hear your feedback on the new game mode!
We wanted to make something cool and short, just to get something out and in front of people for a morale boost while we're still deep in development for Episode 1. So we got to work making a mini episode starring the Thornz in a small side adventure called "Escape From Pork Belly"
EfPB is a short, stand-alone adventure that takes place between the Pilot and Episode 1, where you take the role of Zambezi in Punch Out style combat. Round after round, you'll take down heavily stylized opponents in simple, highly satisfying combat. Winning a match let's you move up a rung, but losing sends you right back to the beginning. After enough rounds, you'll hit a boss who wants you gone.
Between rounds, come check out what this cowboy is selling from the back of her van. In the shop you can buy items or power-ups to help you advance through the game.
It's not quite done yet, but anticipate something sooner rather than later. We think EfPB is turning into something really wild, shooting from the hip spark of energy that will energize anyone who's a fan of Star Fetchers.
Real note
On a very real note at the end here, working on this has been very refreshing and necessary. When you work on the same thing for so long, you can lose yourself just a little. You get stuck and feel rigid or unsure about everything. Working on this mini episode has shaken out so many cobwebs and development stresses, while also helping us feel creative again. We're aware of the want for Episode 1, so we sincerely thank you for being a great and supportive community while we're wrappin' this DLC up.
Last note
Last thing I'd like to say is that I want to apologize for neglecting the community here on steam, I don't personally use steam as a community hub and has thus underappreciated it as a platform to update and properly announce things on. I'll try to do better to update this place on the regular, even when we don't have super big news to announce.

This ELITE version contains an extended flashback scene with Medusa that adds to one of the plot points in Euryale's Gambit. It's just one of several ways this story is starting to complete the trilogy.
