Hey everyone, I have gathered a new team after my old team abandoned me and the project on the release date, a backstab from so-called “friends”. We haven’t shared anything here with my new team because we didn’t want to give empty promises this time so we have waited until we have something solid that we can show to people. We are working on a “NEW” title, because of everything that happened before, we don't want to give them any chance whatsoever to claim anything related to this game. We are creating every single item from scratch. Now we have a new Steam ID and a new IP for this game.

Once we started working on this game, We were in Ukraine and no one ever thought war would be expanded this big because we always had clashes at the eastern border.

After the war started, members of our team either went to save their families, joined the military, or escaped the country. I moved out of Ukraine as well and formed a new team with a friend with whom I have worked on another project before. I'm not going to tell you all the details but everything was great until we had big issues with Unreal Engine 5 and at one point after our new friends joined the team some small disputes started to occur. I didn’t even know it would lead to something way bigger. I learned this on the release date… When we just agreed to release the game and continue developing I was left off to my own on the release date, and they excluded me from the project files so neither I could work on it or get new people to work on it with me. I couldn’t do anything about it so I reached out to Steam to issue returns on sold copies and let people know our team had dispersed. After a few months, they showed the courage to message me and share the game files with me but the reason was they doing it, they hoped I make money off of this and share the money with them while they do nothing, unfathomable. Everything was lost and I refused to even check the files they sent to me and I blocked them right away. My world crashed after that event but when they messaged me I woke up from that nightmare. The following day, I reached out to professional people who were interested in our game and wanted to work with us before. This means I need to get into more debt but I can't live my life knowing what I could have achieved, I wouldn't forgive myself if I ever gave up. So I pushed my debt even further to restart the production of the game, it's called MASS INVASION. (steam page is released)

And to people who wonder if I made any money, it’s merely a cent when compared to how much money I have spent over the years on this project. I sold land left by my father to me, I sold a house, and my car. Also took some loans from friends and family. I will not give up on this and continue until justice is done to this title. I'm not saying this for people to pity me, I'm just being frank.

What now? Well, Alien Harvest (Mass Harvest) will be deleted from the store because it’s a dead title and it’s not being updated anymore. You can follow and wishlist our new title MASS INVASION

We've carefully read through all your reviews and immediately started working on the first hotfix to make things better. Check all the improvements out! We hope they'll level up your adventure big time!

New
  • New "Low Specs" mode that disables most post-processing effects and should apply a huge boost in performance.
  • New "Controller Sensitivity" slider in the options menu.
Changes
  • Logic is now untied from refresh rate, so players that run the game below 60 fps can now have a better experience.
  • Slimeking Boss can no longer spawn before night 6.
  • Increased player base movement speed.
  • Added an icon that prompts the player to press a button to interact with NPCs.
  • Ice floor is now more slippery.
  • Added 1600x900 resolution.
Balance & QoL
  • Added an input buffer that allows the player to switch tools without releasing the action button.
  • Items in the floor are now combined with a greater range to not cause a penalty on performance.
  • Tree stumps are now breakable with an axe.
  • Decreased the amount of trees in Forest biome.
  • Players can now build floors in shallow water.
  • Updated the community menu message that tells the player to physically be in a house to be more clear.
  • Estoc's base damage has been decreased (12 -> 10)
  • Raw ores and ingots sell prices have been decreased.
  • Gold weapons have been removed from the Travelling Merchant in the start of the game.
Bugfixes
  • Fixed several localization errors and typos.
  • Fixed a crash that occurs when removing an item from the Guide's menu.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when using explosives in the caves.
  • Fixed a bug that made two objects spawn next to each other overlapping.
  • Fixed a bug that grabbed the first item of a chest while right clicking on an empty space.
  • Fixed a bug that made "Fly Swatter" not appear in its crafting table.
  • Fixed a bug that made the screen appear tiny after changing resolutions.

We've also noticed some comments about how Tinkerlands resembles other popular games like Terraria, Forager, Necesse and many others mentioned (even Minecraft 😄). It's a huge compliment for us and yep, you caught us! We’re big fans of Terraria and Forager and we were inspired by these awesome titles. But here's the scoop: our main goal is to blend all the best features from different games to create the ultimate adventure experience. And hey, this free prologue? It's just the beginning! We've got big plans for the Early Access version, and it's gonna be positively different from this prologue and include numerous cool features! Stay tuned, cause we’re going to share a little sneak peek of it in the next post 😉

v1.34.3 Patch Notes

This patch is intended to fix the Ultra High DPI Monitor issue we were seeing in the bug reports that prevented the game from running full-screen on those really fancy ultra-wide gaming monitors.

Special thanks to Chaplin for providing some additional help that allowed me to reproduce the issue. Awaiting a confirmation that we've resolved it for certain and then I'll update this post :)

Update (4/16/24):
We have confirmation that this fix does solve problem. However, if a player has previously rasterized the graphics in the old version, it's necessary to clear the cache so the patched version can re-rasterize the textures within the GPU resource limits.

Here's how to do that:
1) Force the rasterizer by exiting full screen (Ctrl+F) then re-enter full-screen mode (Ctrl+F) again.
or
2) Delete the existing cache: C:\Users[UserName]\AppData\Roaming\com.d20studios.abalon\Local Store\assetCache and restart the game

Minor versions don't require re-rasterization of the graphics which is why this manual process is needed. When we update the game to next major version (1.35) the rasterization will occur automatically.

Infinite Loading/Black Loading Screen:
I’d also love to create a proper fix for the black screen/failed loading issue.
I’ve been unable to reproduce this bug, so if you’re experiencing this and would be willing to chat with me on Discord, I’m sure I could get it resolved.

Out of Action - doku games
Pushing a small update for the demo along with some fixes and changes.

- Hydra gains passive vitals regeneration which can also increase max vitals.
- Ghost defense from 50 to 100. Damage ignores defense while cloak is active however (more survivability while uncloaked, squishy while cloaked)
- Ghost no longer loses cloak from stim use or if defense is depleted.
- TRG optic highlights have limited range (dependant on magnification).
- Sword quick melee attack now has it's forward dash. The range of the dash depends on distance to target. (charged heavy attacks will also initiate at the end of quick melee the dash if held)
- 'Enhanced Dexterity' has increased effectiveness and now correctly works with backup weapons. (faster attacks etc.)
- Some additions and changes to existing perks. (not all in demo however). See the Discord for more details about perks!
- Enabled 'Acrobatics' and 'Hardcase' perks for the demo.
- 'Acrobatics' somersault is useable while in air by pressing the dive key, including cancelling an existing dive!
- AI can now spawn with 'Hardcase' and 'Auxiliary vitals'.
- Many other smaller changes and bug fixes.....
- Demo file size reduced from 465mb to 418mb!
