The Time of Awakening has once again arrived. Help the enigmatic Bloom Herald unravel the mysteries of the ethereal Wispybloom for new and returning event-specific rewards. Pluck carefully from April 17 through April 30, as these precious petals attract the attention of the nefarious Wispy Wasps!
Truth Seekers must be level 25 or higher to embark upon the quest for enlightenment. Springtide Villages are located in Monarch's Bluff, Everfall, Brightwood, and Weavers Fen. Check out event lore, concept art, rewards, and activities.
When the seasons on Aeternum shift from bitter winter to the blossoming of spring, the celebration of Springtide Bloom takes place. During this time, the joyful Children of Bloom don their distinctive apparel and encourage all denizens of the enchanted island to search for special flowers. The Children believe that these blossoms are a key to a deeper understanding of self and a greater awareness of the miraculous world and its mysteries. Aeternum contains many nightmares, the Children lament, but with the gift of True Sight granted by these flowers, other worlds can be glimpsed and possibly even interacted with if one's mind and spirit are properly attuned.
Every Springtide, the Children select a representative they call The Bloom Herald to go amongst the citizens of Aeternum and encourage them to hunt for the elusive Wispybloom Flowers. The Herald claims that studying the properties of these mystical blossoms can reveal the mysteries of the island. The Wispyblooms are believed to originate in another realm and manifest during Springtide. They are infused with the magic of that other world, one associated with life and fertility. The Bloom Herald delights in speaking enigmatically, and in giving veiled answers about the miracles the Children claim to see. Although the Herald seems genuinely interested in bringing about an age of peace and harmony, there's something off-kilter about the Children, a secret they seem to be hiding that hints at something darker behind their euphoria.

SRPG Studio is celebrating 9 years this April 10th! Had it not been for everyone's feedback, we couldn't have continued updating this software for 9 years. As such, you have our deepest gratitude.
This year will also be seeing the arrival of 12 new motions and charchips. Look out for them sometime after mid-July!
Hello detectives! It’s time for a new dev blog as it’s an exciting point in the year. As you may have seen from the Triple-i Initiative showcase; Shadow of Doubt will be coming to both PS5 and Xbox series S and X when we leave early access. Stay tuned on more info on that as the year progresses.
Not only that though, I’m excited to announce our first major content update of the year titled ‘Sharpshooter Assassin’ which launched today also. You can read the full list of changes here. This is the largest content update yet; the main focus of it is two new killer variants, both based on a killer that will kill from range. Prepare to study bullet trajectories to hunt down vantage points across the city! The goal behind this is to inject the main serial killer cases with more variety, and you’ll have to alter your detective approach a bit to accommodate these killer types.
Alongside that, there are two new building types; a mixed-use industrial building and the often-referenced-to-in-lore ‘Fathoms’ which is a kind of slum/shanty town. At the opposite end of the social class spectrum, we also have new gated communities found at the tops of skyscrapers, where land values are at their highest. You’ll need special access to visit here (well legally anyway). I hope you have fun exploring the new city geography!
In addition to this we have the introduction of social credit level perks. These have been on the cards for a while (previously the social levels were not used for anything apart from ending the game through retirement). Now each level has a small perk attached. I don’t want to spoil them all because I think they’re going to be fun to discover but I hope it gives new gameplay incentive and meaning towards gaining that precious social credit score.
There’s a bunch of other stuff in this update too, including reduced city generation time, steam cards and more but the last thing I’ll talk about here is the addition of an ‘auto travel’ feature. This is something I’ve wanted to put into the game for ages, but only now have found the time. The auto travel feature is a little like fast travel, but instead of teleporting to your destination, your character will automatically find their way to wherever you want to go.
Crucially, while auto travelling you can interact with your caseboard without pausing the game. Ever had it where you’re walking someplace and going over something in your head and not really putting much effort into the act of moving around as you know the route so well? This is trying to emulate that, kind of like a detective autopilot. It’s entirely optional of course, I expect some people to use it frequently and others to not, but it’s a feature I’m pretty pleased with. I also expect it could really help to make the game more approachable from an accessibility standpoint, or if you’re a player who is more interested in piecing together the case than physically moving throughout the world. There is a little bit of work left to do here as due to the variety of physical places the player can find themselves in, you can on occasion need to exit auto travel to guide the player yourself. Basic travel works pretty well though.
Auto travel options can be found in the location evidence window, with an additional toggle button found in the map interface.
As frequent players may have noticed, we’ve transitioned from pushing more frequent smaller patches to less frequent but larger patches. Expect this to continue going forward. Over the summer we’re going to have an increased focus on bug fixing, as well as improving controller support to get it up to a better standard. Until next time detectives!

Today we’re looking at some of the new stages in the upcoming expansion, Seekers of the Storm!
Seekers of the Storm allows players to explore some of the lost regions by bringing six new stages across ancient Lemurian temples to intense showdowns on a [REDACTED] with plenty of secrets to uncover.
Petrichor V is a wild and beautiful world, and we wanted to open up new unexplored areas to players and capture the sheer beauty inherited from the expansive Risk of Rain universe. With new terrain, lush foliage, and crumbling structures, each environment offers a fresh take on the classic Risk of Rain you know and love.
One of the new environments in Seekers of the Storm is the Shattered Abodes. This Tier 1 stage features a sprawling central plain and a crater surrounded by sections of complex architecture to dodge and fight around.
When designing this map we wanted to introduce a unique environment to enhance the gameplay experience. Each potential teleporter location has its own cover and paths for navigating enemies, giving skilled players options to dodge high-damage early boss attacks–like Wandering Vagrant's explosion and Stone Golem's laser–even with slower characters.
Survivors like Railgunner, Huntress, Void Fiend, Acrid, and [REDACTED] can utilize their high vertical mobility to move between the stage’s tier system with ease. At the same time, less mobile characters can speed across the flat central plains to grab items.
Players exploring Seekers of the Storm will cross the occasional new monster that calls these environments home. Survivors must be vigilant and prepared if they expect to weather Petrichor's new challenges."
In Seekers of the Storm, we will introduce new variants allowing players to explore the map differently. These variants add a lot of unique flavors and provide an additional level of difficulty as players try to get their grasp on each version.
In the upcoming Devotion Update players will get to explore a new map, Verdant Falls, which will have a night variant in Seekers of the Storm. This is a free update for anyone who has Risk of Rain 2 and will come out soon. We dive deeper into Update Devotion in the Triple-i Initiative Showcase.
Also in the Devotion Update, a very special Mercenary skin will be arriving in Risk of Rain 2 for all players. We think it will remind you of someone

FIX: - Attempt to work around a bug that occasionally causes an artificial increase of win numbers for rank. Wins against the AI are counted both as a whole, and per character now - the numbers are then compared to be sure the amount of wins checks out. You might observe your rank dropping to lower (your true rank) if this bug ever happened to you.
TWEAK: - Jacek: a bit shorter weapon - Jacek: lower damage on short attacks from the wrist - Alexander: higher overall damage - Less over-the-top final wound sounds
