Sky: Children of the Light - ThatSkyStellify


We’re just a few short months away from Sky officially turning five. This is a major milestone, and one that would not be possible without the support of all of our players around the world. We knew coming into 2024 that Sky would only turn five once, and that we had to do something that lived up to the moment.

With that in mind, we’re excited to announce SkyFest, our first ever simultaneous in-person and in-game Sky Assembly event!



Sky Assemblies is an in-person fan program led by the Community Team that debuted in 2022. In the last couple of years, we both hosted and worked with volunteer hosts to run Sky Assemblies events all over the world. At those events, we’ve been able to meet players, celebrate Sky culture, and even witness friendships that were only online grow beyond the game into the real world. It’s meant a lot to us to have the sort of community that makes running events like this possible.

SkyFest is, for us, a chance to take all of this experience, as well as the experience gained from running Sky booths at AnimeJapan, Tokyo Game Show, and gamescom, and leverage it to bring players as well as many of our thatgamecompany developers together at our biggest in-person event yet!

With all that out of the way…

There will actually be two in-person SkyFest events: One in China which will be run by our partners at NetEase, and one in Tokyo, Japan, run by members of the thatgamecompany Community Management team. Below are some important details for our event in Japan:

DETAILS:
This will be a ticketed event. However, we are planning to make a portion of it open to the general public so that everyone will be able to share part of the experience we're building.

If you're interested in attending the ticketed part of SkyFest, stay tuned to our Japanese social media channels, which is where we'll share detailed information in the future about how to purchase tickets. Ticketed attendees will receive special goodies—we’ll have more details on those in the weeks ahead.

There will be a number of attractions and activities. We’ll have a full list prior to the event, but here’s a short list of what’s included:
A recreation of the downtown Aviary Village area
Live developer presentations, similar to those we had at the Sky Assembly in Los Angeles last summer
A special thatskyshop pop-up shop
An opportunity to meet and the team behind The Art of Sky: Narrative Writer Jennie Kong, Visual Design Lead Yui Tanabe, and Art Director Cecil Kim
The History of Sky art exhibit
A number of exciting in-person mini-games
Themed photo spots
A special mystery announcement about something coming to Sky later this year…

That’s just a taste of what’s to come. We’ll have more information about SkyFest, as well as how to secure tickets, in the coming weeks.



We also know that, for a lot of folks, it won’t be possible to make the long trek out to either of our SkyFest events—and that's why SkyFest will also take place in the game itself. Like when we worked on the AURORA concert, we’re doing everything we can to build a celebratory, connective experience that can be enjoyed by players around the world. It’s important to us that this event meets the moment and honors five years worth of players, stories, friendships, and more.

Keep a watch on our official channels for more in the coming weeks. We can’t wait to share more, and to share Sky’s 5th birthday with all of you.

*Taking a laser charge is way faster now. This makes the spaceship looks cooler when taking multiple at the same time.
*A more dynamic sound when impacting certain type of ice asteroids.

Glitches Solved:
*Fixed a soft-lock of the player that happened in one of the last stages.
*Fixed a sound looping in the tutorial section.
*Fixed a laser charge that didn't reset properly after a stage was ended.

Corrections:
*Corrected a dialogue hint of an NPC, in order to reflect better the new changes to the game.
*Removed a useless NPC that was lingering on one of the last maps.

GR1D is a very powerful bounty hunter. If you're lucky enough to work with him, remember this: Put everything back in its place before leaving the ship. Everything!

Generate 2 additional Energy per turn. Energy in hand can only be loaded into slots of the corresponding color.

OCD - GR1D will be unlocked at Level 61.



Optimization -
  1. We have comprehensively streamlined various descriptions, including Units, Treasures, Events, Talents, etc., aiming to make the text more readable and understandable. If you come across descriptions that seem unreasonable or easily misunderstood, feel free to provide feedback on Discord or in the Steam community.
  2. Optimized the art assets of some Units to enhance the distinction between them before and after upgrading.
  3. Optimized the price display in the shop, now utilizing icons for better clarity.
Bug Fixes -
  1. Fixed an issue where Pilot Talents could easily duplicate due to the Seed system.
  2. Fixed an issue where having multiple Treasures - Counter would inconsistently tally counts when activated simultaneously.

Descriptions in our game have long been criticized for being verbose, inaccurate, and difficult to understand. This time, we've reorganized and streamlined all the in-game descriptions in English and made some adjustments to the Chinese descriptions as well. It was quite a challenging task, but we've finally completed it. The new English texts will be much shorter than before and should be easier to understand. Although we've gone through them thoroughly, there may still be some oversights. If you come across any inaccuracies or texts that need improvements in the English descriptions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Let's work together to make LONESTAR a greater universe! ・New "Training Manual" items have been added. These manuals allow you to give experience points to Pals.

・New armour "Multiclimate Undershirt" has been added. Protect yourself against both the heat and the cold with just one slot!
・New building "Electric Egg Incubator" has been added. This incubator consumes electricity to automatically adjust the temperature to the optimum temperature for each egg.
・New building "Ore Mining Site" has been added. This mining site allows you to produce ores from the comfort of your base!

・Kelpsea can now produce Pal Fluids at the ranch

[Known Bug]
After the v0.2.0.6 update, it has been reported that there is an issue where eggs cannot be placed inside the incubator. We apologize for this inconvenience.

The problem can be resolved by rebuilding the incubator.

Glider Sim - joeysipos
-Make the grip button less sensitive so as not to accidentally activate it while flying in VR.
-Add force feedback to Grip Mode on hang glider.
-Add input curve to Hang Glider as to make input less sensitive at lower values.
-Make the right click thumbstick on the Xbox controller hide UI.
