Mix Universe - chriszuko

I wanted to post a quick update for everyone who has the game and are waiting for new update!

First things first. Thank you all so much for picking up the game, leaving reviews (These help the steam algorithm a lot! Next goal is 100 reviews), and bringing to good vibes to youtube, tiktok, and instagram.

Recently, I've slowed down posting videos to focus again on development now in which I massively overhauled how I was authoring in-game tutorials. This was a huge undertaking that took way longer than I thought, but the result is I can now create gameplay events (Not just tutorials) that are all integrated within the game's controls and systems.

What is new?

You can download the experimental branch and try out all of this now if you dare (It's actually stable, but I broke all the tutorials)!

BACKUP YOUR SAVES under my documents/Mix Universe

The intro to the game is coming along and you can see a sneak peak of it in the video below along with a new node to play with! Right now the old tutorials are broken as I move them into the intro and create the newer tutorials.
I've added a new activator ring that you can place and connect to nodes, then fly through them to activate all the nodes! So far it seems rather fun and I am interested if people try it out and make anything cool with it. (Expect that this node might change heavily so any mixes made with it right now will likely need adjustments in future updates)

There is now a new community tab under mixes that shows the 50 most recently uploaded workshop mixes. If you upload something to the workshop and set it to public, it will show up in there!!
Mixes can be opened from the main menu.
Lots of little performance fixes and bug fixes with editing. (More on that later)

What is coming and when?

Currently shooting for end of April. I am taking a short break and then getting back to it! Hope everyone is safe while they travel for the eclipse!
I will finish the in-game tutorials!!! Gah!
A demo version of the game including the intro and some sort of limited play mode. If you have ideas on what you think would be best to limit in the demo, lemme know!

[ Character Introduction ]

Code Name: Gray Hand (Affiliation: A.B. Gray Crows)
Role within the organization: Real head of Gray Crows
Real name: Руслан Руслан (Ruslan) [Like a lion] , Japanese name ルスラン

A young man in his 20s, but he is the spiritual pillar for the Crows in Europe. He keeps his identity a secret from the public, and shortly after A.B. organization was founded, he was made the de facto leader of the Crows.

Hand was born to a mixed-race family with a Japanese father and Russian mother. He grew up in Japan as a child, and has been wandering around Russia and Eastern European countries since his teen age years. Due to his thin build and mixed race appearance, he has faced racism and bullying in both Japan and Russia.

As he became an adult, he developed a strong concern for the poor and the alienated and consistently advocated an ideology of equality and hope on the Internet. He collected tons of data on the political/business and military/police systems of various countries with his excellent hacking skills, which he used to call for a more ideal world. The nickname he used as an Internet polemicist, 'The Visible Hand' [active moderator], was called the 'Hand' by many low-income people, and he gained idol-like support.

But after sitting down with Zero to discuss the formation of the coalition and the grand plans for the future, he was stance has turned over 180 degrees, as if he became a different person. No longer did he call for justice and fairness with a warm heart. For more than a year now, he has been working with terrifying intensity to create the weapons and equipment needed for a fighting organization. At night, he walks around in a bizarre mask and an assortment of weapons, ruthlessly terrorizing anyone who doesn't fit into A.B.'s idealized world.

After hacking into the classified information of military contractors and learning the key manufacturing processes, Hand uses these information to create and utilize a variety of specialized weapons. Hand's hobbies include throwing flash grenades to wreak havoc in an area or using personal time bombs. He also has a sickening hobby where he takes pleasure in watching his targets freak out at the sight of a ticking time bomb attached to their bodies.
One of his strategic weapons is white phosphorus ammunition, which has been modified to reduce its power and make it easier to handle. He predicts the enemy's path of travel and restricts their movement with the flame zone of the white phosphorus ammunition. While some have braved the burning zone, the price of ignoring the flaming white phosphorus at room temperature only led to incapacitation.

It's not known what drove Hand to this behavior, but what's even more bizarre is that his current appearance was created in just over a year.
He was placed in an incubator as soon as he was born. Born sickly, his parents gave him the name 'Ruslan' in hopes that he would grow up to be healthy. Despite this desperate hope, Hand's slow physical growth only led to his childhood being looked down upon and bullied by those around him.
Since becoming the leader of the Gray Crows, he has been building the weapons and information/communications infrastructure necessary for the organization's missions. The organization gains vital intelligence from Hand's CCTV and eavesdropping equipment, and each member is outfitted with a customized weapon that suits them.

[ Personality ]

A man of few words, he's hard to get to know and usually wears a special carbon fiber mask and a hooded poncho made of flame-resistant material.
On the rare occasions when the words do come out of his mouth, he is not good with words which makes it quite frustrating for those trying to have a conversation with him. His conversations are also centered around the weapons and machines he's researching. Rumor has it that those who remember Hand's breadth and depth of knowledge and brilliant writings that once set the Internet ablaze were shocked to meet him in person.
He is generally not interested in other people, but when he gets interested in someone, he obsessively observes and analyzes them. He is often seen watching the person he is interested in and smiling crookedly.
When he's not working, he can be found immersed in comic books and anime. Paper once walked in on Hand's rest day and complained, "All he watches are cartoons about little girls with guns.

[ Relationships ]

After his talk with Zero since the formation of A.B., Hand's personality has changed dramatically. Originally, he was a member of the Crows, criticizing the absurdity of social structures and advocating for welfare to bring harmony between classes, mainly through the Internet. He would also sponsor young children who had lost their parents and were in need. But after becoming the second head of the Gray Crows, he began to transform into an extremist terrorist, spearheading A.B.'s destructive and radical agenda.
HARDWORKER Crush is one of the few people around Hand that he recognizes as a technician. He feels it is hard to get used to her cheerful, sociable voice and her behavior, such as barging into his workspace, but when the topic of conversation turns to mechanical equipment, he's seems quite pleased even through his mask. In his conversation with Crush, Hand sometimes even forgets when to breathe, and his excitement is evident in his spittle splattering talks.
Ever since Ms. Twin started working undercover at the local burger joint, he's been there every day with HARDWORKER Grasper. Feeling uncomfortable with the two men staring at her with strange looks in their eyes, Twins give Hand and Grasper a hard time.
In a construction site frozen in time with no owner, Hand spots Ms. One. He didn't like the fact that the members of A.S., who were against the A.B., dared to tread on his turf. She was a formidable fighter, but he managed to mortally wound her and send her home. But knowing she was still alive, Hand smiled with excitement, and began to scribble notes about One in his log book.

[ Physical Attributes ]

He is a young man with the appearance of a mixture of mainland Japanese and Slavic Russian. He has deep eye sockets, a strong and tall nose, black hair and eyes, and a piercing eye-line, so it's easy to tell at first glance that he is a half-blooded person of East and West.
Hand is quite thin, a reflection of his sickly childhood and bullying-ridden adolescence.
He wears many layers of clothing to conceal his appearance. He's especially fond of wearing hooded ponchos and baggy pants to make it hard to tell his size.
To protect his body from impact and poisons while still covering the face, he wears a gas mask and respirator specially made from carbon fiber.
He also wears force-enhancing mechanical gloves to overcome his lack of physical prowess. The fingertips of the gloves have claw-like metal finish that can inflict severe wounds.
When not on missions, he wears a tattered and worn T-shirt, jean jacket, or maintenance suits.
He doesn't care much about his appearance, other than his wavy hair. When his hair gets to the point where it's quite long, he will go get a curly hair perm done without anyone noticing it.
