I'm pleased to unveil a significant update to Eternal Trails that'll enhance your exploration experience!
First off, I've updated the horse models to look more like horses and less like Camels!
Second I've introduced a Horse Selector—now, you have the power to choose your companion from two noble steeds, each with unique appearances.
We're also debuting a stunning New Starting Location: Canyon Country. With breathtaking vistas and serene trails, it's the perfect place to start your journey or find new inspiration.
Plus, I’ve implemented a plethora of fixes and optimizations to ensure your adventure is as smooth as the gentle gait of your horse.
Get ready to ride into the sunset with this exciting new update!
With Easter coming up, we have to alter our schedule for game updates/patches for this and next week. We decided to skip the early week update we intended to do today and roll its content into a larger game update this Friday.
Similarly, there won’t be a smaller update right after Easter, but again a larger one at the end of next week.
Going forward, we also want to change how we approach updating the game. The idea is to have a smaller game update early in the week (on a Tuesday in most cases) that will mostly focus on balancing and tweaks (unless there is a critical and time sensitive issue that requires fixing).
That smaller update will be followed a much larger and more significant game update at the end of the week (on a Friday in most cases). These end of the week updates will contain new things and bigger changes and improvements.
“Why the change?” you might wonder. We are not slowing down, quite the opposite actually as we are approaching the point where we will be adding new content to the game soon and this in turn requires more testing internally. It will be more efficient for us to split game updates into lighter ones early in the week and heavy ones at the end of a week since many of the bigger changes and fixes simply require more testing. So the bigger things get more time in testing throughout the week rather than just a couple of days.
Hey everyone! Last week was a busy one! I know I should have warned beforehand, but got so busy with finishing the preparations for these events that I totally forgot to update the Steam news. (also bad internet at the hotel didn't help) So, last week, Exophobia was at the Game Developers Conference Expo AND PAX East!
I couldn't be present at both expos, so I had my first experience at GDC (flew all the way from Portugal) while my publisher, PM Studios, managed their booth that included an Exophobia stand. In these booths you could play Infinite Mode and Boss Rush mode, both unlockable at the end of the game (depending on the ending... wait, I never told there were two endings! That's right!)
GDC was really fun, it's a nice way to meet other devs and industry people and refresh your perspective. It was a needed boost in motivation to keep making games at this end stage of Exophobia development, specially in these times were things are rough for everyone, specially small indie devs.
One of my favorite parts was roasting marshmallows with other devs the day after the convention ended. It was my first time roasting marshmallows so it was a really cool experience! Another favorite thing was meeting in person with Moski, a cool artist friend that gifted me a very cool Exophobia fan art. Check it out: https://twitter.com/jcccastanheira/status/1772981189436997965/photo/1
Isn't it cool? Check out Moski's art and wishlist their game filled with his beautiful art, Townseek!
If you were at GDC or PAX, please wishlist the game, it helps a lot! I'll be back with more news soon, Zarc
In anticipation for tomorrow's launch of Pepper Grinder, I wanted to tease a piece of merch dropping tomorrow on the Devolver Merch Shop alongside the game's release at 9am PST.
Enjoy this faux graded distressed antique pewter Skull Coin from everyone’s seafaring pirate! This coin is encased in a protective UV casing, so not even those pesky Narlings could ever claw at it, unless they adapt and drop it from somewhere high, then maybe?
It also includes a Steam key E-mailed directly to you, so you can still enjoy the game tomorrow on launch. How cool! But hurry, it's limited to 200 units with no more being produced after it sells out.
Grab one tomorrow to display on your bookshelf or perhaps your own ships crow nest?

2021 McLaren Sabre
What goes beyond a hypercar? We believe the answer to that question is “2021 McLaren Sabre”. Only 15 units of the Sabre will ever be produced, and each one will arrive at their owner’s garage with a unique livery. However, styling isn’t what makes this car shatter our hypercar parameters.
The Sabre comes equipped with a twin turbocharged V8 engine that puts out 824 HP and can produce close to 800 Nm of torque. Put this engine into action to achieve this car’s top speed of 350 kmh, making it the fastest non-hybrid McLaren ever made.
Of course, no hypercar is complete without a supreme exterior design. The Sabre takes some inspiration from previous McLaren designs (mainly the Senna) and adds a few upgrades that give the car the insurmountable aerodynamics it needs to make the best out of such a magnificent engine.
2019 Ginetta G10 RM
The closest Forza Horizon 5 will get to time traveling is taking a ride in the 2019 Ginetta G10 RM. Just in case you were wondering, the RM stands for “remastered”, meaning this high-speed classman is a new take on the already amazing original G10.
Built to put the modern touch into Ginetta’s already extraordinary racing pedigree, the RM brings the finest contrasts between vintage and modern. For starters, the finishes on the inside of the car are made from wood and leather, the entire car is built by hand; while its glorious 6.2-liter V8 comes from the brand’s most recent prototypes.
Get a sense of what it feels like to travel to the past with the latest technology and atention to detail in the 2019 Ginetta G10 RM.
2022 Ford Supervan 4
A Ford utility vehicle fitted with a 2,000 hp producing electric train? Sounds like a superhero hiding behind the outfit of a reporter.
It might not be faster than a speeding bullet, but the 2022 Ford Supervan 4 power train can still cover massive amounts of distance in a very limited time, Four electric motors fitted underneath a built-for-the-track body make the most out of the 50 kW producing battery included in the Supervan give this van the power to sprint from 0-100 kmh in just under 2 seconds.
Rather than holding a symbol of hope on its front, the “S” in Supervan represents Speed.
1967 Shelby GT 500
Driving off a huge victory at Le Mans, Ford took a bunch of the lessons they learnt and applied them to a performance-focused version of their next powerhouse, the 1967 Shelby GT500.
Powering Carrol Shelby’s latest creation was a 7.0-liter V8 engine called the Cobra Le Mans, a for-the-road version of the already great 427 cu- in. Engine made by Ford. It came with 355 bhp and a rumble that very few cars of the era could match. The GT500 could run a quarter mile in 15 seconds and go from 0 – 100 kmh in just 6.5 seconds.
The exterior of this car matched its speed and loudness, precisely what you need to stand apart from other Mustang models. Its new fiber glass front and back, as well as headlights, and characteristic grill made this car a street racer with a very sportive, modern look.
A classic muscle car ready to take on the challenge offered by its more modern counterparts will hit the Horizon Festival on the Acceleration Car Pack.
What’s next?
Apex All-Stars are approaching Forza Horizon 5!
This next series will feature new sets of EventLab props, an all-new collectible item, and new reward cars to add to your garage will be available to unlock on the Festival Playlist!
