Age of Water - pryanick

Captains!

Firstly, we’d like to thank you for your interest in our project! We’re glad you’ve enjoyed Age of Water: The First Voyage and are glad to see how many of you are looking forward to April 18th, the start date for early access of the main Age of Water game. Thank you!

The prologue of the game, available for free, contains only a small part of the content, and only the very beginning of the exciting story that we’ve prepared for you.

Separately, we’d like to thank the participants of all stages of the closed alpha and beta testing that was held in 2023 and earlier and for your involvement and active support of the project. After April 18th, each player who previously purchased one of the sets to access the CBT will receive their own activation key corresponding to the Steam edition of Age of Water, depending on the cost of the previously purchased set. Keys may take some time to be issued.

Please note that the testing phase was completed last year, and the progress achieved during testing will not be taken into account when completing the current version of the game, and the CBT client cannot be used to enter the game.

Next, we’d like to answer some questions that we encountered in your reviews and comments.

Will it be possible to play Age of Water with friends?

Certainly! Age of Water is an open world MMO game where you can meet other players, add them as friends, or join a group to complete a harder task for example. It’s especially interesting to look at the boats of the players that you meet, borrow unusual design solutions, and wonder where that player got a cool deckhouse or weapon for their boat.

How will it be possible to communicate with other players?

The game will have a general text chat available, where messages in this chat can be seen by all players within a certain radius of each other. Additionally, you’ll be able to send and receive private messages, for example from players on your friends list. And in addition to chat, group players will be able to use the voice chat built into the game.

Will there be PvP content in Age of Water?

In the open world, you can find PvP events, where you’ll get a notification about the beginning each. In addition to this, there are PvP quests in the campaign plot. We’ll talk about this in more detail in a separate news post. Don’t miss it!

Can I play with a gamepad?

Yes, both the prologue and main version of Age of Water supports control from a gamepad, such as an Xbox or PlayStation.

How will the progress made be maintained?

If you’ve made it to the end of Age of Water: The First Voyage, then after purchasing the full version of Age of Water, you’ll continue to play from the point where you left off the story in the prologue. If the player has not played Age of Water: The First Voyage before, but has purchased and installed the full version of Age of Water on Steam, then they’ll begin the story campaign with a prologue.
Thank you for your interest and helpful feedback. Don’t forget to add Age of Water to your wishlist, because very soon a continuation of this fascinating post-apocalyptic story awaits you.
Cell to Singularity - Evolution Never Ends - lunch
Hello Universe Architects!

Welcome to the grand opening of our new exhibition. Launching as the second event of the year, learn what inspired humanity through the ages to create art. A first-ever event collaboration between Computer Lunch x Pariah Interactive, Explore: Visual Art — The Power of Images is ready to play in Cell to Singularity.

Exhibition Spotlight

  • The exhibit presents 12 generators and 52 trait nodes that explore the progression of visual art.
  • Discover popular art movements as history follows artists’ journey from the Renaissance to the Modern Age.
  • Tap into the power of inspiration by collecting the new event currency: Creativity.
  • Express yourself through the Paint Palette Quantum Charge to gain more Creativity.

Explore: Visual Art — The Power of Images is available to play March 25, 2024 at 11am EDT until April 1, 2024 at 10am EDT!

To celebrate the event’s grand opening, we will be holding a ‘Let’s Play’ today on Discord from 11am to 12pm EDT in our official Discord server. Click here to join the Cells community as we give out Darwinium cubes in the ‘Let’s Play’ chat. Experience the event launch with Computer Lunch devs as we talk about the makings of this event.

This was our first event collaboration with an external game studio: Pariah Interactive, also located in Brooklyn. Outside of this Explore Event, we have been collaborating with them for a while with the Beyond space expansion. Their artist, Stephanie, has done a stellar job in creating the nebulas in our game, and we’re excited to show more of our combined efforts together.

For those who are part of our beta testing program, players were able to gain a sneak peek on various new content we will be releasing soon. We thank all our beta players for their invaluable feedback. Similar to the Visual Art event, humanity will be moving toward a new age. We gave away some information about it in our February livestream.

Time to smelt the ore— the Iron Age update is next in line for release. We hope you’re looking forward to it as we continue shining and polishing this upcoming update.

But for now, let’s stroll through the art gallery together and discover why the power of art is so profound.

Be creative, and stay cellular!

Inferni: Hope & Fear - CTRL
Hello Steam! I am Will Luton, Village Studio cofounder and the lead designer of Inferni: Hope & Fear.

We are building Inferni: Hope & Fear to be a game where teamwork and strategy is the heart of winning and losing. It’s no secret we are inspired by the likes of Magic the Gathering, battle royale shooters and amazing indie roguelikes. But to really hone our game design we require passionate players to come, test and provide us with their insight. Do we need to nerf charms? Buff Leather Man? Is Growing Hate OP? You tell me, please!

Over the next weeks and months, as we lead up to Early Access launch ({LINK REMOVED}), we will be inviting players from our {LINK REMOVED} to join us. In this blog I want to provide new playtesters with a quick start guide.

Gameplay Basics

Each player selects a character that has both a unique deck of cards and some charms. Cards are drawn from the deck to the hand and can be played by being dragged onto various targets, while charms give continuous benefits.

When a card is dragged to its target the character begins casting. A cast may be instant or as long as 20 seconds before it becomes a spell and shoots towards its target. On impact, the card’s effect is applied. Cards draw from the deck over time and on casting end up in the graveyard.

Simple huh? Let’s talk about what really matters: How to win a match…

A screenshot from the current Inferni: Hope and Fears prototype.

The Characters

Before each match, players can choose one of five characters to bring to the Arena. They each have unique cards and charms that define their initial strategy:

  • The Hunter: The original glass cannon! The Hunter is out to deal lots of damage very quickly, making him a real menace, but lacking healing and defensive spells. You’ll want a supportive teammate for best results.
  • The Leather Man: This gimp is a low life. Literally… The leather-clad deviant’s cards and charms focus on benefiting from taking self-inflicted damage and being close to death. You pilot The Leather Man on a razor’s edge, where in his weakest moment’s he’s at his strongest.
  • Madame Futura: A mind reader and bender of will. This side show fortune teller can manipulate spells and players, taking control of matches. However, what she has in intellect she lacks in strength, with few ways to deal damage.
  • Panacea: A woodland witch with a pantry full of mystical herbs and spices. She is the ultimate team player, able to heal and protect herself and her teammates. But… like Madame Future she is lacking bite.
  • Trickster Demon: A hellspawn born on April 1st. This fiery creature loves nothing more than messing with a player's strategy through discard and reshuffle effects. The card advantage makes Trickster Demon great in one-on-one scenarios but weak in general melee of the early game. So it’s all about survival.

One thing that makes Inferni: Hope & Fear so unique is that your starting deck is not fixed!

Drafting Cards

There are three rounds of draft where players can build out their hand and deck to evolve their strategy based on what their enemies and teammates are doing around them.

Here are some cards we think you need to keep an eye out for in draft packs:

  • Kill Shot: This one is scary. If it hits you, you’re dead. But it’s slow to cast and travel, leaving its caster vulnerable. Make sure you have an answer to this in your hand at all times!
  • Growing Hate: A spell that gets bigger the longer it travels?! Growing Hate is of maximum value when targeting the farthest enemy. But be careful because if it comes back at you, it’ll hit twice as hard.
  • Rage: For 15 seconds any cast damage spells deal an additional 5! When coupled with the Fire Gauntlets charm (adds 2 damage to each offensive spell) even a humble Spark could knock a player to an early grave.
  • Stone in Hand: Cards slots are precious. This spell turns one into a useless Stone. It can’t be discarded or cast. It just sits there. Being a stone.
  • Switch: Got a bunch of scary stuff coming at you? Wish it was heading to an enemy? Simply Switch it! A well timed Switch can be a match winner. But a Switched Switch? Ouch!
  • Reflection: Applies Mirror for 30 seconds, bouncing back any incoming spells. So send that Growing Hate back to the sender, but twice as big! Just hope they don’t have a Reflection of their own.
  • Revive: If your teammate is downed and bleeding out, bring them back to the fight with a Revive.

In addition, draft packs contain charms which provide longer-lasting benefits. This is a new feature, so we’re still working out which charms are the most important.

Come Playtest With Us

We love a fresh face in the arena. So if you’d like to playtest Inferni, grow your skills and shape the game ahead of release please join our {LINK REMOVED} and express your interest.

Can’t wait to see you there, o’ Wayward.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR OUR FELLOW JAPANESE DETECTIVES

We're very sorry to say this, but we had to remove the Japanese localization for the release build shortly before release due to some critical issues that conflicted with our aspirations of a fantastic gaming experience in all available languages for you.

We're working hard on adding the Japanese localization back to the game as quickly as possible.

Thank you for your understanding. We'll keep yuo updated about this here on the discussion board.

Loco Motive - gamedevjoe
“Hallo Freunde!”

It’s been a busy few months for the Loco Motive team, but we're eager to bring you up to speed on our latest developments! Since our last update, we've been busy recording voice-over dialogue with our cast, forging exciting new partnerships, and approaching a significant milestone: Finalising all the text in the game!

The writing process involved plenty of typing, ruminating and head-scratching but after 70,000 words or so - I'm glad to say we're almost there. As we worked towards this milestone, it enabled us to better explore our options with localisation.

The adventure game community is known for a strong and loyal German following, and Loco Motive has been no exception. With Germany featuring prominently as a top wishlist region, this was an easy decision for us to make:

We're delighted to announce that Loco Motive will be launching with German language support!

We’ve teamed up with Marcel Weyers to create the German localisation for Loco Motive, who you may be familiar with for their work on Return To Monkey Island, Goodbye Volcano High & Coffee Talk: Episode 2!

Marcel was happy to share a few words about the project:

#Discussions_QuoteBlock_Author
“Working on Loco Motive has been super fun! There's so much attention to detail in this project, and even though some of the puns were quite tricky to translate, I can't wait for German adventure gamers to be able to play the game and laugh out loud as much as I did!”

That’s all for now! We're excited to continue sharing updates with you as we reach the final stages of development on the game. We’ll be sharing more progress as we go, but in the meantime, you can follow us for updates on Twitter or join the official Robust Games Discord.

Don’t forget to wishlist Loco Motive for a notification when the full game launches! It’s just one click, but it really helps us out!
