It has been like 10 day since the game has been released. There were minor new content and a few mechanics added, also a dozen of bug fixes. As promised, now time to ask your opinions about the upcoming update!
Escaping Atlantis will be participating in Steam's Deckbuilder Fest starting next Monday, which means it will be the perfect time to try out our new demo.
For those up for an extra challenge, we have something exciting to share: We're running a contest!
The contest will take place while the Deckbuilders Fest is live, so from the 25th of March till the 31st. We have two challenges, see more information below!
There are two categories: Most damage done in one turn, and least health lost in a successful run. You can participate in either categories or both!
Please follow these steps to join: - In the options menu, press the "Toggle Contest Counters" to make sure the counters are visible. - Please play the game without the tutorial, so press "New Game" "Yes" "No" to start your run. - Take a screenshot of HD resolution (1920x1080) or better where the counters show what you want to submit. - Post this screenshot in the #share-your-run channel on discord. - That's it*!
*If multiple people manage to complete a successful run without any health lost, the first one to submit their screenshot will be declared the winner of that category.
*In case there's any uncertainty about a submission (e.g. someone with some good photoshop skills) we'll ask to see a recording of your run, so If you are going to do something very impressive (successful run with 0 damage taken, or a huge amount of damage in one turn), please record your run and upload it unlisted on youtube, so we can verify it if needed.
We wish you best of luck and are excited to see how you do!
A complete new set of stylish loading and "Get Ready" screens has been added to replace the old ones. BUT! the original art still in the game and its selectable from the options menu, you choose.
The Darsalon universe has never been so well represented! Here are a few of them:
Their availability during combat follows the classic card battler formula, with a deck and a discard pile. This comes after reflecting on all the feedback we got, from the original combat-only alpha up to now.
Yet another slay the spire clone you say? Stop right there! Here's the real deal of this post: runes! Runes allow you to power up skills during combat, enabling you to create powerful effects and execute crazy combos. Let's take one step back and break down what a card looks like:
The top left area contains the card cost, its icon, name, and, just below the name, its tags, like "Attack" or "Skill". Certain runes require a card to have a specific tag to be applied. Below that, are the rune sockets, which show what runes are already applied and what capacity the card has.
At the center of the card is the combo: this effect is applied only if (at least) a certain amount of rune colors have been applied. Finally, at the bottom is the base effect of the card, e.g. doing some damage.
Runes follow a logic similar to cards: you start the game with a deck of runes and discard or acquire new runes by visiting points of interest or as a reward for battles.
New battle UI
The battle UI went through a comprehensive rework to accommodate cards and runes. Moreover, characters aren't in a line anymore but are distributed across the battlefield for a more natural look.
Runes and Prayers
Most prayers of the prayer system (link) have been realigned to (also) provide runes at the cost of some water, this will help in getting out of tricky situations when, if only you had that one rune, things would work out!
Dialogs
Runes and prayers also tie in with dialogs. We wanted to get away from the (in our humble opinion) stale "classic" formula for dialogs, and runes fit the purpose perfectly.
Dialog choices will now include rune sockets that can represent a requirement or a power-up, that is, fitting the right runes would increase the probability of a good outcome or its magnitude. Short of a rune? Perhaps a prayer can help.
The camping location has been reworked into a special dialog where the available activities depend on which characters are in the party! ⛺⛺⛺
What excites us the most about runes is the opportunity to plug in rare and tricky runes into the game, daily runs will be an excellent place for this. We also hope that modders will enjoy the experience of creating new runes, something that we're making as simple as possible.
1. Adjust the red equipment to not necessarily pick up. You need to check Auto Pick up red equipment to pick up. 2. Ancient, ancient, no matter how to check is bound to pick up

I was once the hottest new model on the street. Newspapers heralded my arrival in every town. The titans of industry were inspired to produce more goods when I visited their factories.
But as the years have passed, so do their eyes pass over me, to eye curiously my replacements. Will you try the new style, ma’am? It’s so much better than that old thing.
I’ve watched my friends grow old and die. My brother got caught in traffic and caused a horrific level crossing collision. I get sick more often, wheezing to a halt wherever I am. When I visit the doctor for a spot of renewal, they tell me, “Sorry, I can’t help. You’re too old.” When will I be autoreplaced?
Woe is the tale of the Balogh Goods Truck. But what if we could slow or pause the steady march of time? In OpenTTD 14, you can.
