We're going to kick off a series of dev blog updates to give you more insight into the world of Spirit of the North and give some sneak peeks into what you'll have in store on the epic journey.
The Fox
In Spirit of the North 2, you step into the paws of an entirely new fox from the protagonist of the first game. Taking in feedback from the first game, the fox character has been completely rebuilt from the ground up, with an updated look and a newly designed movement.
The Raven
Joining you for this adventure is your new companion, Thought, a wise Raven who will help guide you on your journey and aid you in traversing this new world.
The World
Those who played the original Spirit of the North will be familiar with the icy Nordic-inspired landscapes they had to navigate. For Spirit of the North 2, we're going much bigger with the game world and sending players off to discover a variety of different regions, each with its own flavor featuring unique weather patterns.
Additionally, the move to Unreal Engine 5 has given us a range of tools to enhance the handcrafted world, bringing more detailed lighting and effects.
Abilities
Players will discover runes along the journey that they can equip to change appearance and grant them abilities.
Music
It wouldn't be a SOTN game without emotionally stirring music and immersive sound effects. This has been a major focus and our composer has truly elevated the experience of exploring the various landscapes.
We are excited for you to experience the beautiful journey of Spirit of the North 2. Stay tuned for more updates from us over the upcoming months!
Exciting news! We're updating our demo with support for Turkish and Polish languages, along with some small balance changes.
Since releasing our demo recently, we've been blown away by the response and the sheer number of players who've given it a try. Today, I want to give you a quick update on how we're planning to incorporate all the feedback we've received.
Overhauling Interaction System and UI One of the main issues we've noticed is that some players are feeling a bit lost with our current interaction system and UI. We're taking this feedback seriously and working on making significant improvements to ensure that players have a smoother and more intuitive experience.
Expanding Gym Activities and Rebalancing Early Game We've heard your requests for more things to do in the gym, and we're on it. Expect to see a wider range of activities available, including more interactions with customers and the gym boss. Additionally, we'll be tweaking the balance of the early game to ensure a more enjoyable progression experience.
Injecting More Humor We're thrilled to see that players are loving the funny content in our game. Rest assured, we're committed to keeping the laughs coming and will be adding even more humorous moments where they fit naturally.
Introducing Late-Game Content Looking ahead, we're excited to announce that in the later stages of the game, you'll have the option to hire employees to help manage your gym. This will open up new possibilities and add depth to the gameplay experience.
Language Support Last but not least, we're expanding language support to make our game accessible to even more players around the world. Keep an eye out for the addition of 12 new languages, which you can find on our store's main page.
Bug Fixes We're also addressing various bugs and glitches reported by our players. Our team is working tirelessly to ensure a smoother and more polished gaming experience for everyone. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to resolve these issues.
Thanks to everyone who's been part of this journey so far. Your feedback is invaluable, and we're committed to making our game the best it can be. Stay tuned for more updates!
