Acid rain - can now only hit a target once per wave (will reduce unintended extra hits)
BackSlash - now only dashes 1 tile back and hits 1 tile further (this should improve it's neutral use)
BouncingBlade - now bounces from the correct height
BowSnipe - visual now aims up, arrow no longer launcher until 24f, total travel time still 360f (bugfix, sorry)
Eruption - added shadow warnings
Glitter - improved warning visual
Harvest - now restores 4 mana instead of based on target hp, recovery 38f->40f


Poison - slightly increased the cure rate at high amounts (this should make it less awkward when trying to cure poison)

QoL:
Added some deckbuilder sfx
Loading screen between scenes now animates slightly
Added poison bars on healthbars that display how much poison dmg will occur over time

Bugfixes:
Music/SFX vol will no longer reset to loud if alt tabbing back to window
Fixed queen chaos/mint palettes
Window will now focus on match found popup
Matchmaking now gets properly canceled when going to replay or solo modes
Timers damage no longer freeze when hit on shield
Warning sprites should now layer properly

Country flags are now shown on match found
MatchFound timer increased from 5s->9s
Difficulty stars added for each character, if you're just starting out try the easier ones!
Added option to hide player names in Game Settings

Matchmaking:
Matchmaking should no longer put low MMR (< 800) against high MMR players (>= 800) even with long queues
Adjusted some search parameters, including reducing matches against the same person
Clicking cancel on a match will now stop matchmaking until restarted

Previously the climb to even just Silver felt way too long.
Adjusted rank elo values to:

These are mostly to match the new visual and for consistency

Multi-keyboard is now supported in a beta branch "multi-keyboard"

Matchmaking:
Increased delay before matching with larger rating gap
Rating pools changed to match player pool's current ratings (this should mean you get matched with closer rated players more often)
Rating minimum changed from 500->300

QoL:
Adjusted beam crystal sprite to show direction better
Improved ice summoning visuals
Adjusted mini dialogue box sizing in tutorial
Play SFX on unfocused now defaults to Off to prevent confusion

Adjusted some flame-related spell icons to differentiate them

Bugfixes:
All achievements working! I think!
Student achievement - now unlockable (if already completed, can be unlocked by just opening Learning tab)
Duelist and Competitor achievements - now increment properly
Character achievements should unlock now
Gauntlet achievement now unlocks on win
Tourney mode text now updates when switching modes
Music is now in stereo instead of mono (it may be louder now, default volumes adjusted)
Ranked leaderboard now updates more often
Non-existant character decks should no longer cause the game to crash (from alpha testing)


Update v2.12 - 03/07/2024

Keybindings will be RESET once on startup. This should fix bindings for new players.

First boot on launch will have decks set to default on start (backed up in save data folder).

Bots will no longer get stuck in training (Selicy will no longer go easy on you)

Disabled multi-keyboard for this build temporarily to enable raw input for all controllers.
There will be a tournament/locals build in the future with multi-keyboard enabled. If you need Multi-keyboard support, please DM me.

Achievements are enabled!
Deckbuilding should be a bit less stuttery now

What a weekend!

First and foremost a huge thank you to all our new friends in the discord. We grew our discord from about 700 members to over 1200 in just over 48 hours. Lot's of amazing new people around and great affirmation that we are on the right path.

Some stats

15000 players applied for the steam playtest although we capped off the capacity at 10k



Our Wishlist saw it's highest one day total ever as well with 4081 just on Sunday alone.



We also saw our global rank rise from #917 in steam to #766 and it continues to move by the hour!



Without a doubt the biggest highlight was how much fun people had. We can't thank everyone enough for all the hours they put in with one streamer streaming more than 20 hours of gameplay!

Bugs
  • Fixed not being able to plant crops on damaged tilled dirt
  • Fixed a scenario that would get you stuck in place whilst closing the second spells tutorial
  • Fixed a freeze caused by mashing the spell button before you see the first spell tutorial
  • Fixed armour throwing errors when equipping/removing it
  • Fixed armour not being removed on death
  • Fixed the HUD icons being visible after a death
  • Fixed a death urn not being spawned if you died in lost civ and hit continue
  • Fixed various issues around dying and reloading the game
  • Removed some old code around brick benches that was throwing an error and unclear

  • Added some new systems to easily export/import save files
  • Added a timer to automatically remove eggs from the world
  • Added more torches to the starting area
  • Added a colour change to showing a fertilisers effectiveness and showed it progress whilst looking at a fertilised spot with a crop
  • Changed how the bonus fertiliser count perk works to spawn 2 pickups instead of 1 pickup with a count of 2
  • Increased the held object scale of mushrooms
  • Created proper icons for the luck & tool swing speed potions
  • Added audio for drinking a potion
  • Reworked the portals destination text to work at any of the base portals rotations
  • Added an unstuck button to the options screen in an attempt to free you from common stuck scenarios
  • Added an unclaimed rewards notification to beacons
  • Updated the starting area to have more torches


Animals
  • Increased the kills needed before a health bar is shown for animals
  • Reworked how animals track how they spawn to better handle how they should die during the day
  • Fixed the escaped combat range being squared when it didn't need to be
  • Reworked the logic for leaving combat so there is a time based short distance and a longer distance override
  • Made cows aggressive once they take damage

Balancing/Changes
  • Drastically increased stone elementals damage
  • Changed copper armour to need wolf fur instead of rabbit
  • Made mushrooms edible
  • Only crops count towards a meal being max quality (meaning eggs etc no longer count)
  • Fixed brown and red mushrooms having a max stack count of 1
  • Same with stews
  • Reduced potato spawn chances
  • Reduced the sapling spawn chances of pine, redwood & snow pine trees
  • Increased glowing geodes max stack count
  • Scythe spell can now gather experience as well
  • Fixed inedible fruit having a max stack count of 1
  • Made inedible fruit edible but poisonous


UI and Wording Changes
  • Increased font sizes of the talent trees
  • Slightly increased the max font size of crafting UI icons
  • Overall changed a lot of wording and added new groups to make crafting UI cleaner
  • Disabled the Main Menu buttons
  • Updated the icons for the standing torch recipes
  • Updated the description of the opal shard
  • Renamed protection beacon to totem
