We're proud to present to you the long-awaited update that adds Ladder Mode and upgrades for your transport network!
It's united with the Free Mode and is divided into many levels (steps). The initial territory of each level is chosen randomly, so you'll have to visit different parts of the globe. The task of the first level is to earn some money and unlock just one territory. In the second level, you will have to unlock two territories, and so on.
In the end of each level, you will be able to choose what to upgrade: capacity of planes or airports, amount of money when starting the level or something else. All upgrades are applied to both Ladder Mode and general Free Mode.
The competition for a place in the top of leaderboard of the Ladder mode has begun!
Try the update and write us your opinion! If there are many requests, we can also add Ladder Mode to the “Discover the World” mode.
Ey everybody, welcome to Iconia Defenders 1st announcement, I hope you all are having a great week!
Before going further, we want to thank you all for reaching this post, and even more if you wishlisted the game. That means a lot for us. And it is a great source of motivation!
We have a couple things to share, one is to showcase our development roadmap for the upcoming months, which you can see in the following picture:
As you can see, it is not a complete end-to-end roadmap, but rather a near-future roadmap. We are right at the beginning, finishing up the details for the core gameplay. Like enemies, drawing cards for gold, the 6 primary tower types, the endless wave system, and ensuring everything works as smooth as possible.
We've got portals! At the beginning of each wave, a new set of portals is opened in the world, creeps will begin to appear once the preparation time finishes. You don't know the order nor how many enemies will come from those places, but you do know where they are going! So take advantage of that! There are 2 types of paths, which will let you know if there are flying or ground enemies coming out from them.
And talking about enemies, we have just finished the flying creeps system. Starting with bats, flying creeps will go through your defenses directly to the your base, and it is your duty to prepare your defenses to kill these creatures, and be sure they won't get distracted with the ground ones! Take a look at the next gif to see the bats in action. They may look cute and small, but as you advance through the waves, new and ferocious creatures will start to appear in the battlefield.
Before the flying creeps attack, you will see a path of feathers coming from the portal to the base to indicate where they are coming from. if you don't see the feathers, then you can rest assured you won't see any flying creature, at least on the current wave.
And that's it for this announcement, there is still a lot of work to do, and as mentioned before, the roadmap doesn't display all of the things we are working on. For example, we are also working in many designs for the upcoming features, and setting up the translation system. Anyways it does show what is coming and where we are.
If you have any question or feedback, leave a comment! I would love to read it!
Thanks again for reading, Rodrigo Soria - Anawim Studios.

For the last few weeks, I've been doing nothing but the editor to allow players to create and share their levels! I made 5 of my own levels (you can edit them) to show the current capabilities of the editor. There's no tutorial yet, but I'm sure you'll have no trouble figuring out how everything works.
Hey! I've released a minor update that includes: - Pausing time until the construction of the first building is complete. - Improved visibility of the status of output slots (it will be clearer whether we're currently discovering the recipe or not). - Changes related to the reset key and reset confirmation.
It’s been a while, but that’s because we’ve been hard at work preparing for the full launch of Trivia Tricks, and we have some exciting news to share! With today’s update, it’s now possible to begin preparing ‘V2’ Workshop packs ready for the big day!
V2 Workshop packs heavily extend the possibilities of player created question packs by offering...
Picture questions! Include an image that will be shown alongside your question.
The ability to have just 2 or 3 answer choices instead of 4.
Answer explanations, a piece of text which can be displayed to players after the answer is revealed.
We are proud to empower our Workshop creators to enjoy the same feature set as the questions that ship with the game. V2 packs can’t be uploaded just yet but you can start creating a Workshop pack with these features and preview how they will look in-game!
Simply:
Select ‘Manage Workshop’ on the main menu to open Ganymede’s Lab (this creates the example file)
Navigate your computer to Documents/TriviaTricks/Workshop/ExampleWorkshopV2Beta
There you’ll find the new ExampleWorkshopV2Beta.csv file, which will show you examples of how to use all of these new features in a question pack
If you need a hand with getting to grips with Workshop V2 then please consider joining the official Trivia Tricks Discord, we’re more than happy to help! We don’t have a date for the full launch just yet; we’re still preparing the finishing touches, but consider following Trivia Tricks on Steam to be the first to know when these features will be available in Trivia Tricks!
Of course, with great power comes great responsibility. We’ve been looking at how to ensure players only see the content that they’ve consented to see. Therefore, we've created a confirmation screen before any games with Workshop picture questions begin.
This feature allows players to view the domain that hosts the image, alongside giving a thumbnail preview of the pictures before they appear during gameplay. This way you can check for content suitability beforehand, preventing inappropriate images showing during streams. Let us know what you think!
We’ve also been adding picture questions for the base game’s Geography and Art categories. These will be launching alongside the full game! In the immediate future, we’ll be releasing an update that will feature a mass of new relevant-for-2024 questions for the categories in the base game. Stay tuned for more information on that!
If you'd like to help shape the future of Trivia Tricks then please consider leaving an honest Steam Review letting us know what you think about the game. This will guide the direction of future updates and helps Trivia Tricks to find more quiz heads on Steam! Thank you!
You can now view Picture Questions in the Preview Menu for Workshop packs (found from the "Manage Workshop" area of the Main Menu). Please note that picture questions will not be playable until the full release.
You can now view Answer Explanations in the Preview Menu for Workshop packs. Please note that you cannot upload packs containing Answer Explanations until the full release.
You can now view blank answers in the Preview Menu for Workshop packs. Please note that you cannot upload packs containing blank answers until the full release.
The TV model has been adjusted in preparation for the release of picture questions.
The "Workshop" icon has been made more noticeable when a Workshop question is being asked.
If a Workshop question does not contain anything in the 'credit' field then 'Player Created' will be shown alongside that question.
The Stage Select menu has been updated to add a "Coming soon" button for a new upcoming stage that will be available at launch... 🚀
Fixed an issue where stage elements would be seen ‘popping in’ when changing stage.
Fixed a handful of shaders that were missing from the compilation step.
Fixed a bug where playing against Summer would show a single answer on the TV.
Fixed a bug where the game would stop downloading icons, avatars etc. until the game was restarted.
Fixed a bug where avatars would flicker twice after being downloaded.
Fixed a bug where the Workshop Download menu would be on top of the Pause Menu.
Fixed a bug where clicking the top-left or top-right corners of the 'ready' button on the character select menu would change your selected character.
Fixed a bug where the Spectate Screen would show a default message briefly before showing the correct message.
The Spectate Screen now updates as the game moves through different phases.
Fixed a bug where hosts could see progress bars animating back to ‘empty’ when re-entering menus.
Fixed a grass clipping issue on the Halloween stage.
The Categories menu has been made more responsive.
As a final note, to support Workshop Pack V2 we've had to update the verification steps that are taken before a pack is loaded into the game. A tiny fraction of packs have become unable to be loaded and the creators of these packs have been contacted with solutions, but it's possible 'friends-only' or 'hidden' packs have been affected too. The issue can be resolved by uploading an update to the pack. But if you're unable to resolve this issue then please contact us on the Trivia Tricks Discord. We'll be happy to help, and thank you for your understanding!
