This is it! Huge update! The most awaited respawn feature is now live. You can now respawn from check points that you activate during missions. No more frustration of having the retry from the start. We have also added some visual UI for objectives, making it easier to locate what you have to do. We also redesign slightly Missions #5, 6, 7 and 8. We're very excited about this update and we do hope that you'll enjoy this massive improvement.
Stay tuned as we'll also release soon 2 new missions and a new arena.
- Added: option to add custom wallpaper, drop pictures to "Mods/CustomWallpapers" folder (preferable size 1920x1080, png files only). To enable this option, you can purchase "custom wallpaper" in any theme tor shops for $1000 (no reputation needed). You will also get instructions in game how to use custom wallpaper once you purchase the option.
Also one more info. If you don't follow the game discord channel, let me tell you that I'll release 0.3.1 update by the end of this week (finally!).
- Achievements should now pop-up when gotten and not when the game is closed - Added decimal display to various outputs - Custom level screenshot now gets taken automatically when submitting to workshop - Workshop levels can now be unsubscribed from in the right-click context menu - Workshop levels now have leaderboards - New steps in the sandbox tutorial to explain workshop submission functionality
It's. Finally. Almost. There. The ground-up rewrite of Everpixel Tactics took much, much, much longer than I'd planned. And it's still not done - there is still so much more to do. But the game is much better for it. If I may say so myself, the game both looks and feels much better than the previous iteration.
For those of you who have been occasionally checking in on the status of the game - thank you. I was encouraged that several players felt that the game had potential; it definitely motivated me through the grind of rewriting the entire codebase.
As promised in an earlier devblog, I'm going to release a "beta branch" for those of you who want to play the game before I'm ready to fully release the next version. In addition to the help I could use testing the game, I also want to release it because, frankly, I want to prove to everyone that I'm still dedicated to releasing Everpixel Tactics.
Beta Release Date
I plan to release the beta branch on 3-10-24. It's going to be missing a lot of features yet (enumerated below); I intend to spend another month before I transition the beta branch to a release. I still need to do a lot of work updating the AI, addressing bugs as they appear, and a several "Quality of Life" type things.
Features
When I fully release 0.6.0, it will come with a new Features Roadmap. Until then, here's a non-exhaustive list of features I am tracking that need to be implemented before I fully release 0.6.X of Everpixel Tactics:
Physical Injuries should cause damage every turn
Campaign Tutorial
Long-range weapons (polehammers, halberds, etc.)
Implement all racial bonuses
Add several more mission "chassis"
Implement all tooltips
Add effect icons to the "hit panels"
Add skill bonuses to mage gear
Edit the "Aegis" Perk
Add soundFX for moving characters
Add idle sound FX for characters (e.g., slimes, zombies, etc.)
* New custom loot filter string option implemented. - Add "sell+term" to automatically filter any loot matching the "term". You can also use multiple terms, and the filter will auto-sell all matching terms. Example: "sell+massive+ruby" will sell any item thas has "massive" or "ruby" in its name. Use with caution!

Found a bug when a solicitor attempts to apply specific debuffs to enemies - We found a temp way to fix this with further code efficiency in the future
Ok that was the only bug but we have some improvements as well!
The dodge chance from a Poltergeist contract (Solicitor class) couldn't stack. We've modified how this contract works to make it a stackable contract.
It felt bad as a player to get a contract that gives you a debuff on hit, then later get that same contract again since there was not tangible benefit to having that kind of contract multiple times. We've adjusted the way contracts are generated so that if you have a contract that gives you a debuff on hit, that contract cannot be generated again unless you lose it due to a void clause canceling the contract.
We will have more improvements to this as we explore and playtest with all of you!
