We are working on a full-scale story campaign. Mostly, our activities were in creating a special version of the game for our sound designer. But in the meantime, we couldn't miss that several people joined our Steam community recently, and we wanted to say thanks. To mark such an event, we decided to tackle a problem that bugged our demo from the very beginning - the default checkbox. Can you really tell the difference between on and off? Probably yes, but it's not obvious. So, we worked hard day and night, developing and researching, and we came up with THE CHECKBOX. NOW GAZE UPON ITS ETERNAL BEAUTY AND REASONABLY CLEAR DISPLAY, MORTAL!
We also added nice decals on top of all in-game objects windows:

To give you some background information, Spelkollektivet is a game developer hub in Sweden that combines living and working spaces. I have been residing at Spelkollektivet for almost a year now, and I am thrilled to share that my game, Outlaw Kingdom, has recently been signed to be published by Spelkollektivet! During the last year, I have received plenty of feedback regarding the game, whether from people who played the demo here on Steam or observations that I made while watching people play at events like Copenhagen Games Week. All of the feedback and observations have led to a complete overhaul of the game, including new mechanics, art styles, and characters, which are currently being worked on as you read this news update.

I want to share with you that the beta branch is being updated with a new story/conquest mode that will replace the Siege mode. I realized that I cannot do what I want to achieve with the Siege, having a gigantic map with all the missions when also the character can fly everywhere.
So I decided to take another approach, In the story mode there will be some in game cinematics that will drive the story. The "lobby" will be the planetary view where you can go to different locations that will be unlocked, each of them is a level, where there will be 2 or 3 missions. In general one of them will always be to capture or destroy the location/town. If the location is captures the population there will be force to provide resources for you, then you can use the resources to buy support troops or different items. There is a negative side of capturing a location is that the population can rebel and can launch a counter attack and then you need to act against them again, if you choose to destroy it, they will be silent forever. Some locations will require the mothership to be destroyed.
The levels will be increasing in difficulty being the last one Brimir. Also the human forces will be able to launch attacks to the mothership using nukes, spaceships or superheroes.

A bug where severely damaged enemies finished off by allies did not count towards progress for tasks, wagers, challenges and battle tasks etc has been fixed.
Severely damaged enemies finished off by allies have been added to the “Destruction of aircraft” item in the battle results. In the “Finishing off” column, the value “By another player (no reward)” is indicated, making it easily distinguishable from your own destruction of enemies.
A bug that caused the client to crash on Ubuntu 20.04 when running via Steam has been fixed.
