Welcome in Sky Captains! Glad to have you aboard. It's been another incredible month here at Odisi Games. February has brought a lot of change, we’ve even been testing a new drone we’ve named Archangel!
Beta Testing Updates
To get started, there have been updates based on player testing feedback this month!! We polled our beta testers, asking what drone is the most OP. The answers were almost unanimous, and our development team has already made some changes to correct the balance! The Megadon has had its speed and armor rating lowered. A fix has been submitted as well for the burning grenade exploding on the Megadon’s shield. You can now fire your grenade across the map with your shield up!
VFX
Reimagined blasts for Shotguns, Rifles, and Machine Guns!
In VFX the muzzle blast and first person views have been in our sights and some really incredible work has been done. The shotgun, machine gun, and rifle have all had their muzzle blasts reimagined and re-created this month. Thrusters also have been updated to no longer be visible when in first person view.
UI
Finalizing the UI has been a major push throughout February
The Party system is in! This has been worked into the new UI seamlessly. We can now squad up!
Hovering support added to UI elements.
Tally screen updated to remove blur.
Scorecard player images now work with non default drone skins.
Leaderboard images corrected to show Sky Link profiles.
Prematch screen has been corrected to auto update for all screens and always shows the local player first now.
Contracts UI anchored and resized to properly fit into the scene.
SFX
Explosions and more!
The audio distance calculation has been adjusted to make gunfights sound much more tight, clear and punchier.
Kill confirmed SFX edited to be more in line with Sky Link’s announcer.
Fixed issue where missile sound continued playing after the round ended.
Proximity mine explosion has been reimagined with a quicker more explosive sound.
Lots of changes and more yet still to come. 2024 is flying by, so be sure to mark Friday’s beta test on your calendar, we fly at 4 PM EST!
Meet us at GDC!
Next month, March 18th through the 22nd, Odisi will be going to the Game Developers Conference and we’d love to meet you there! Join us at the event, or play from home!

The 0.86.16 demo update adds a new progression system that allows you to unlock all 6 demo aircraft, and play new missions. The progression system is a simplified version of what will be in the full game, tailored to the content available in the demo. The way the progression system works is you start at the beginning of the war, and as you complete missions you progress through the war's timeline, whereby new aircraft become available based on the date they first entered service. Missions are also unlocked in the same way.
Here's a full list of new features:
Added the ability to fly all of the aircraft that you can see in the menu once they're unlocked.
Included additional missions for both sides that can be unlocked as you progress throughout the war's timeline.
There is now a progression system based on the war's timeline, as you complete missions and earn points you'll progress through the war, which will unlock aircraft and missions.
Added language support for Ukrainian.
Minor aircraft model improvements to the cockpits.
Added joystick and gamepad look support to the third person view, and smoothed out the look reset to be less jarring. As part of this work I've removed extra side and front third person cameras as they are no longer required.
