Another month rolls by. Let's use this time to reflect over the last month and highlight some community contributions!
SteamDeck Compatibility Review (Playable!) 🎮
First off all - I was surprised to find yesterday that Steam went ahead and provided a SteamDeck Compatibility Review of the game and has determined that Tales from The Dancing Moon is Playable on the SteamDeck.
This means I now get to display the Steam Compatibility Badge right on the store page, and hopefully more SteamDeck players will start to discover my little game in their Discovery lists!
The key piece of feedback that was provided by Steam was in regards to the font sizes currently being used. The good news is that this was on my to-do list regardless.
After I address this, I will aim to be reviewed again in order to become Verified!
The Reviews Are In! ⭐
A huge THANK YOU to those who have left a review of the game over on the Steam page.
I've now reached over the 10 review goal, which means Steam now lists the official "Positive" rating alongside the game, and will start pushing it to new players in their discovery queues. I've already seen a big uptick of Wishlists and visitors since then!
If you haven't already - please consider leaving a review. It always helps, even if there's room for improvements!
Patch and Updates Recap 🛠️
Let's take a look at some of the key updates that occurred over the last month.
[0.9.14] Brought a new tile-based mini-game (shown above!), Steam Leaderboards, as well as some SteamDeck improvements to the game! Suffice to say - I'm absolutely stunned by the numbers that some players are reaching with the leaderboards!
[0.9.15] Enables players to customize their appearance during gameplay via a craftable wardrobe, as well as adds a new variety of procedural tasks to the in-game task board!
Steam Walkthrough Guides 📚
In the 0.9.14 update, I introduced a button on the main menu that takes the player to the official walkthrough guide published by myself. These guides are hosted on Steam to keep everything centralised to this platform.
Please Note: Tales from The Dancing Moon is a game with an emphasis on quests and figuring things out for yourself. If you need help it may be better to ask for hints on the Discord or forums before consulting this guide.
The guides focus on gameplay actions rather than story, to keep them as spoiler-free as possible.
MooseGaming continues his play through, here is part 5 that he uploaded this month!
That's all for this months newsletter, thanks for tuning in and playing!

Today, we're making the first step out of the shell and streaming the first half of the game! You'll see the game beyond the public demo, and also an updated version of the Prologue that will land on Steam pretty soon.
Frankly speaking, this is the first time we're doing the wide broadcast on Steam, so we're a little stressed, as you can imagine.
Nevertheless, this is an awesome opportunity for us to demonstrate the development progress and gather your feedback.
New Card Visuals: We've revamped the visuals of all cards! Each card now sports a fresh look along with a brand-new footer that provides crucial information such as line of sight, range, effect area, and launch area.
Reworked Arenas: Prepare for a whole new battlefield experience! We've reimagined the layouts of all arenas, making them more dynamic and engaging. Say goodbye to screen borders as arenas are now slightly more zoomed in, offering intensified action and strategy.
Movement System Overhaul: Say farewell to the old ways! We've revamped the movement system, saying goodbye to card-based movement. Now, navigate your character seamlessly by simply clicking on them.
UI Overhaul: We've listened to your feedback and given the entire user interface a fresh coat of paint! From buttons to icons, and even the map itself, everything has been polished and refined.
Bug Fixes:We've squashed numerous bugs and glitches to ensure a smoother and more enjoyable gaming experience for all players.
We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated players for their continued support and valuable feedback. Your passion drives us to continuously improve the game. Update 7.44 has been uploaded to the game server. Here are the changes:
• Settlement will now remember the aggressor, and each consecutive attack of theirs will increase the aggression time by 8 times, up to a maximum of 512 times • Following players' request, an ability to repair all buildings in a settlement at once has been added. To do it, press Shift together with the repair button • Settlement protection can now be prolonged while still being active • Now, upgrading a castle by one level requires upgrading its "Engineering bureau" by two levels • Lots of the same price are now sorted by distance from player's character • Torpedoes, Ship brakes, Renita charges, and Margudes energy gun have been added to Buyer's assortment • Fixed issues with displaying some letters • Improved the game client's stability
As requested, I'm working on the ability to make sand castles ! :)
You can get in there and play with the bucket on the demo now but the ability to scoop sand and place it back is not quite ready yet. (I'm using voxel engine to support this and it is WIP)
