Inkbound - shinycami
Hi, Inklings!

Inkbound is officially moving out of Early Access! This means that players will get to enjoy the full game along with some major changes the team has made to the design, balance, and content of Inkbound.

Continue reading for details of Inkbound’s 1.0 launch date and a list of what’s to come!

INKBOUND 1.0 DATE REVEAL!

Since first launching Inkbound in Early Access back in 2023, we’ve been focused on creating tons of new content, polishing gameplay, and incorporating player feedback for the 1.0 launch. Thanks to all your suggestions and bug reports, we’ve been able to include your most asked for features and find solutions to even the most challenging issues!

From new vestiges, combat balance, new tutorials, cutscenes, and new cosmetic sets. We’re also adding controller support and improving the game on Steam Deck. Inkbound will also be available in multiple languages, including Chinese, Japanese, and more!

For the lore lovers out there, you’ll also get to experience the last chapter to the Inkbound story we’ve been building throughout Early Access. Players will learn the secrets of the Atheneum and battle the true final boss!

And speaking of the launch…

The release date is…

*drumroll*

Inkbound 1.0 is coming out on APRIL 10TH, 2024!

That’s right, the wait is almost over! And trust me, it’s worth it. Until then, we’ll be busy testing, re-testing, and testing again to make sure everything is as perfect as can be.

LAST EARLY ACCESS SALE & LAUNCH PRICE

Before Inkbound 1.0’s launch, we’ll be having another sale! Starting on February 28th and running until March 6th, Inkbound will be available for 20% off!

This will also be the last Inkbound sale before we increase the price of Inkbound to the full release price. On March 6th, the new price will be $29.99 with standard regional pricing in other currencies.

Why March 6th if the game does not come out until April 10th? That is a great question! The reason is that Valve does not allow developers to change their prices at the same time that they run a sale. So, in order to offer an additional 1.0 launch sale, we’ll be raising the price slightly earlier.

THE ROAD FROM EARLY ACCESS

Throughout Early Access, Inkbound has changed a lot since its release last year, including:

Whole new Aspects like the Star Captain, Godkeeper, and Chainbreaker
  • A new book complete with new quests and the tricky Mimic boss
  • Trinkets!
  • Vestiges and their sets!
  • Offline mode (which we’re working on making even better with a ‘true offline’ mode)
  • Daily Challenges
  • Based on feedback updated business model and game structure
  • Run stats
And there is a lot to come! Such as…
  • Heavily reduced RNG from quests.
  • The new true final boss
  • New quests! Including a new secret area of the Atheneum you can visit and full english VO.
  • Master vestiges used to win a run and reveal their lore.
  • And all the changes mentioned in the updated roadmap like controller support, Steam deck support, and localization.
And that is the tip of the iceberg! Stay tuned for content reveals coming soon!

Finally, thank you so much for your help during our Early Access journey. Join us on Discord,, subscribe to the Inkbound newsletter, or join one of our weekly streams to discuss any questions you might have with the team.

See you in the Atheneum!

If you're having problems with your gamepad, try turning off steam's gamepad override. Sometimes it does something to the gamepad making it not work as intended.

If you're having problems with the gamepad while using remote play. I recommend the remote play user, use the keyboard controls.

If you're having problems selecting a character because of controller drift, the directional keys work as well! (arrow buttons)

Thanks for checking out Ooka Ooka Adventure!

Starting now, you can adjust the game difficulty in the game settings also while playing.

In addition, this patch addresses a bug where one game ending would not trigger properly in some cases, as well as a bug related to data about when the village is under siege.

Also we improved clarity and made additional enhancements for fighting with two Baba Jaga sisters.
Paladins® - EvilMojoKryptek
Greetings Champions! Here's what happening in the Realm this week:

So, Aim Assist, huh?
Since Ranked became crossplay in Split 2 of Season 6, we've heard feedback from players & watched the performance of various Champions across inputs closely. As we look forward to Season 7, we want to demystify aspects of our Aim Assist as well as adjust it for the future.

Aim Assist is a complex combination of systems designed to help gamepad feel closer in both experience and viability to keyboard & mouse, and we feel that's an important goal as Paladins has a near equal amount of players on both inputs. That being said, we know players have felt pain points around a specific aspect of our Aim Assist.

Bullet magnetism is a common assist in the genre that forgives pinpoint accuracy on critical hits due to the crude nature of joystick aim, specifically on hitscan weapons. Basically: it compensates for the fact that gamepad players can not track and land headshots as easily as a mouse. As players continued to compete in Season 6, this system stuck out as a frustration point among PC players, as those on PC with a gamepad received the benefits of platform & input while also discovering specific Champions where this system was strongly tuned.

In order to address this, we spent months building new tools to measure all our Aim Assist systems as well as track how the current settings fared in actual gameplay. We even made this special reticle for developer testing! The line represents the amount of bullet magnetism the Champion receives relative to their position and reticle location. This video is of Talus in the Wild Hoard Update:

Pre-7.2 Bullet Magnetism

As you can see, he was by far an extreme example of this effect. It still requires good accuracy and tracking, but it felt far from fair due to his fire rate and recoil. This is why after testing across the entire cast, we're planning to reduce the minimum amount of magnetism by 25% universally. That means all Champions will have to be closer to the critical zone to begin receiving headshots.

“What about Talus, Lex, and Koga? They are the worst offenders!” For Champions that have fast-firing close ranged weapons, we've also reduced the maximum amount of bullet magnetism they receive by 25%. That means that even at higher framerates, with lucky recoil, or any other factors: they benefit less from this system now. Here is footage of Talus in the 7.2 Update:

7.2 Bullet Magnetism

The system is still there, but is much more normalized and doesn't creep into the red territory of our tool. It also falls off much quicker at a medium distance compared to current values. This is our goal, as we feel this system is important to keeping Paladins a great controller shooter, but want it to have less of a factor in high level players' input choice. These values are still in testing, and will be available for players to experiment with on PTS and give feedback on. We know players have been anxiously awaiting us to act on this front, so we appreciate the patience as we worked on this.

This change – alongside other adjustments we are making in 7.2 – is designed to help improve the game overall, but especially the Ranked queue. Season 7 will be a great time to party up and compete to climb the Tiers, no matter what input or system your friends play Paladins on. 7.2 has plenty more for us to show, so stay tuned as we prepare for the full reveal!
