Post Game Jam and Merch Update - This Week In RuneScape

We've got just some of the fruits of last week's Game Jam to show you, plus exciting merchandise updates and more!

It's back! Game Jam is a reoccurring event where the JMods take one whole week to explore personal projects, community suggestions, and other exciting ideas. We've seen loads of awesome projects on the go this week, so here's a preview of just a few of them...

Mod Dorn

Visualizing Seeds and Herbs - Mod Dorn is keen to help player visualize and differentiate items, and has taken a stab at diversifying the looks of seeds and herbs. Giving them more diverse colourings should players tell the difference at a glance!

Mod Pebble

What's the deal with Yanille? Mod Pebble has been learning more about our internal mapping tools and set the task of improving the tone/vibe of Yanille. They've even been getting player feedback on how players would like to see the town look!

Mod Sponge

Spongeatouille - Mod Sponge has taken a moment away from combat to look into the next greatest battle: cooking. Between gathering player feedback on what they would wanna see from the culinary skill.

Mod Fowl

Inclusivity fixes for Titles - Inclusivity is an incredibly important topic and Mod Fowl is picking up the torch from Mod Raven and working to update a ton of titles and the underlying systems to let players have more choices and options on how they wanna present themselves!

Mod Fox

Furniture Shark - Building off some of Mod Fowl's previous Game Jam work, Mod Fox has gone and created this beautiful concept art for a very Legally Distinct Furniture Shark...

Mod Chaose, Frosch, Kitsune, Fox and Blkwitch

Daemonheim Archaeology - Continuing their intrepid work on Daemonheim Arch Site, the team has been making stellar progress including developing mysteries, designing a relic reward, inputting achievements , touching up some of the base camps snow and lighting and even building out a new map concept!

Mod Helen

Organizing the War Retreat boss portals - Tired of trying to figure out where the boss you wanna face is in the chronological order? Well Mod Helen has heard your prayers and has created a new system to organize the boss list in either chronological or alphabetical order!

Mod Luma

Shooting Star Update - Mod Luma is getting cosmic and has dove into modernizing the Shooting Star D&D, aiming to keep the core event identity in place but improving the systems!

Such as making it more reasonable to solo without impacting groups, new locations it can appear, improving the xp & bonus xp gains and making them more convenient to use along side creating a shop for Stardust and new achievements to go with it!

Mod Stu & Grace

Combat Level Up Jingles - Miss the old level of jingles? Well not anymore! Mod Stu has done extensive research into the previously used combat jingles and Mod Grace has graciously (heh) modernized the older midi jingles so they can make a triumphant return!

RuneScape Kingdoms Board Game – last chance for exclusive bundles!

Many of you reading this are likely to be seasoned veterans of RuneScape, so we feel it's important we give you more details behind this offer and what we want to achieve.

We have a wealth of past RuneScape Members (with plenty of goals still to chase!) who we would love to see rejoin the world of Gielinor. With so many games out there today, we want to trial some offers to encourage them back - similar to how other games might run Free Weekends, for example. In our case, we're picking a route that best protects the health of the game with a payment gate, while also getting people back into RuneScape's best version with Membership.

We've designed this offer to provide a great low-price reason to come back, but also to encourage these ex-adventurers to get back into the swing of things properly - and that's where the Double XP comes in. Coming back to RuneScape and finding your groove can be difficult, so by offering 24 hours of Double XP, we hope to make those early hours a little more rewarding and get players re-invested in chasing their dream levels over the long term.

That said, it's deeply important to us that we take existing players into account when making this offer – we don't want any Members benefitting from 'additional' Double XP time beyond what's available today. We've intentionally designed this so that no eligible returning Member for this offer will have participated in our most recent Double XP. This means we're offering some missed Double XP time as part of the incentive to return, but not giving additional Double XP time compared to existing Members.

Game Jam

Last week has been devoted to Game Jam, so regular tasks have taken a backseat while the JMods come up with new ideas and content. You can see in the above panel some of what they've been cooking! This means that there are no Patch Notes this week.

They are hosting an event to celebrate reaching 10k members! It's time to show off your character's faces - in the most hilarious expressions possible! To join in, make a screenshot of your character doing something mid-animation, and zoom in on that silly facial expression. Then post that in the Not The Face! channel.

The best (funniest, highest quality, etc) submissions will be cleaned up by removing their backgrounds, and turned into server stickers! The event runs until March 1st, so get gurning!
