Today's update makes two small changes to how you - the player - can experience Tales from Zilmurik. The first (and most notable) is that all pianos around Eylin (except for the ones already in use) can be played with the keyboard's following keys: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, - and +. Let your fingers fly and create your own world of music!
Secondly, the Party Change menu has been revamped to incorporate unequipping party members, displaying their base level and renaming. What this means is that - say you started playing years ago and regretted choosing a certain name for your least favorite recruit - you now have every chance under the sun to change your mind! What a relief, eh? You can also change the names of certain characters that already had preset names for maximum personalization!

after SteamNext the main feedback we got was that input is not as easy to adapt to as it could be... Mainly we received quite some notes about the missing Keyboard & Mouse integration for players not having a gamepad or not beeing used to it too much. Originally we envisioned StarBoost to be most enjoyable with a Gamepad but of course we noticed this was a common theme - so we react to it. Putting in a lof of hours to get that out quickly: Keyboard and mouse is now fully integrated into the game, so cruising the GUI and also playing with KBM is entirely possible. To be honest: we even feel like this is surprisingly comfortable for ourselves as well - and we have hundreds if not thousands of hours of controller practice with the game ;)
But that aside: of course we want to make the entry barriers and frustration points for new players as low as possible, so that feedback was immensely helpful and we hope it smoothes out any discomforts new players would have.
Update
We are still ironing out little bugs here and there but we feel like this is a great addition to StarBoost and hope to reach an entire new group of players with that update. The update is live NOW with a build we just uploaded: 0.8.2 Alpha. The next step for us is to add customizable input for players in general to the game, this will be targeted for the next weeks.
Feedback
As always: we are still in a phase where we profit greatly from constructive feedback like in this case where we could react quickly to a weak point of the game. So if you feel like you notice something that could be better or just want to share your view on some aspects of the game: leave a message on the discussion board here on steam or send us a mail via the StarBoost feedback form.
- Bird migration model added (WIP) - Hex grid status remains after exiting Base Screen - Vehicles repaired in the field now get movement points replenished (provided it has not moved in the turn)
