Another update for the Phosfi Demo is live! Following more feedback from players over the last week, this update aims to address several common issues encountered with the demo.
Patch Notes
Feature Updates
Increased jump speed, gravity and "snap" of movement. Also increased base move speed to retain original jump distance and height. Increased inertia of basic movement. As part of an ongoing effort to get movement to feel as good as possible, this update aims to address a common feeling of slowness and floaty-ness. These changes are intended to make the character feel more alive, grounded and responsive
Changed how relic equipping is displayed and interacted with. Several players were confused by the relic UI (which needs help). This change should make it more obvious what is equipped and how to equip and unequip relics
Increased dash speed while shortening dash duration. This should make the dash feel quicker while retaining the same distance
Made boosting off Urchins and jumping off of the Lash ability more consistent
Changed default control scheme. Many players had issues with the default control scheme. While the controls are customizable, this change aims to reduce initial frustration. If you already played the demo but would like to switch to the new default layout, you can use the "reset to default" feature in the controls settings.
Animation improvements
Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue with controller deadzones being too large, making movement feel less responsive
Fixed an issue with y-axis input on some controllers
Fixed an issue where navigating the map could feel erratic
Fixed an issue causing players to respawn further away than intended in some areas
Fixed an issue allowing players to boost much higher than intended off Urchins and with the Lash
Glasshouse's Concept Demo is officially available on Steam and today we want to celebrate this moment with you.
FLAT28, A COLLECTIVE WITHOUT HOPE
Italy, Bulgaria, England, USA, Canada, Austria, Colombia. The FLAT28 Collective was born with impossible assumptions: Connecting human beings from distant continents to develop one or more video games, in an increasingly dark and detached world. When the embryo of GLASSHOUSE first came into existence, never, ever did we expect to find ourselves here, 2 years later, in front of the "Release Build" button.
By May 2022, GLASSHOUSE was just a pile of gray blocks, dozens of word pages, and some timid artwork, amid literary, video game, and movie inspirations.
Today, we officially close the chapter of "Pre-Production" and embark on the stormy sea of GLASSHOUSE's actual development.
THE MEANING OF "CONCEPT DEMO"
This Concept Demo does not represent the final product and probably does not even do it full justice. This is the Videoludic Manifesto of a dozen artists (professional and non-professional), developed in our spare time, without funding, over nearly 700 days.
We were naive, we fought and finally loved. That's part of the game of independent development, you destroy to create, you change to improve.
This Concept Demo does not represent the final product simply because, over time, we have changed. We write better than yesterday, we model better than yesterday, we plan better than the day before yesterday.
Most likely, the contents of this experience will be entirely cut, torn, and stitched back together in different guises once the final form of GLASSHOUSE is on display sooner or later. Take this Demo as a kind of "Chapter that will be lost in time."
GLASSHOUSE: Concept Demo has been tuned to detail and greatly improved thanks to the incredible support of our Community which, over the past month, has provided us with tons of feedback based on the build previously released on Itch.io.
You will find all the fellow FLAT28 members who joined us in the credits.
If you would like to be part of the next part of our development odyssey, our Discord is always open to everyone:https://discord.gg/Dprzd9ynxT
Thank you for your valuable time, see you soon!
Giacomo Montagnoli, Creative Director FLAT28 Collective
Once the demo is released, I will post a feedback thread in the game's Discussions for players to give their opinion. It will be great to hear from everybody!
Bug fixes. Keep those errors reports coming. I'm not going to give up on you that easily.
V 0.5.5
Other: Fixed a bug where the game would fail to launch if the audio system did not initialize correctly. Fixed a bug where tombstones hitboxes were not working correctly after loading a level. Fixed a bug where shift clicking an empty inventory slot with a container open would crash the game. Fixed a bug where containers would not close if the player who had opened them died.
We are excited to introduce to you an update rich in new features and improvements that make the gameplay even more thrilling and interactive.
Recipes and Book of Knowledge
We have significantly expanded the possibilities for using recipes in the Book of Knowledge. Now, in addition to being able to unlock new recipes, you can also purchase them with rating points. As a bonus for your first recipe purchase, you will receive a small reward, making the process even more enjoyable. The Book of Knowledge has been updated to include not only improved recipe displays but also the addition of class-specific items. Moreover, by hovering over an item, you can now see its components, further simplifying the crafting process and enhancing your planning strategy.
Leaderboard
The update introduces a new leaderboard where you can compare your achievements with the results of other players. This not only fosters healthy competition but also allows you to assess your progress and set new goals.
Bug Fixes and MMR System
Special attention has been given to fixing bugs and optimizing the game to ensure smoother and more stable gameplay. Furthermore, the MMR (Matchmaking Rating) system has been revamped to provide more accurate and fair player matching, increasing the quality and intensity of competitions.
We are confident that these changes will make your adventure even more captivating and comfortable. May each update bring you new exciting moments and help you reach unprecedented heights. Good luck in conquering new peaks!
The Lunar Love contests continue with a few quick fixes: - Bouquets can now be picked up and recolored - Lovely Gown recipe can now be mixed - Correctly display that a Lunar Love prop mixed in a Tavern will go to the mixing wizard - Props bought at a cash register will have the right colors - Problems with village gardeners’ Huts sales also fixed - Some props are now sorted differently in inventory

Abiotic Factor will be available on May 2, but you can try the demo out until the end of Next Fest while you wait!
Happy Friday! We’re back with a new update and new patch notes! Thanks to the community, we’ve been able to squash more bugs and make the game a better experience!
Here’s what we worked on this week and what we’ve fixed!
We’ve had a heart to heart with the ministers, and told them to no longer place Hunter Huts if the planet does not have any animals
Universities and Movie Theaters will now correctly calculate Discovery Points
You will no longer receive notifications about buildings being destroyed and built, or about new Nugget believers when immediately arriving on the planet due to the Simulation System.
The Planet Cracker Extractor will no longer extract an endless amount of parts
The time it takes for the Planet Cracker to gather regular resources has been reduced
The Planet Cracker will no longer show a duplicated amount of resources in the selection panel
Fixed an issue related to sending The Planet Cracker to another planet. The issue would prevent loading a planet.
Firefighters will no longer ignore buildings that have been set on fire by the Planet Cracker and/or Firestorm
The Planet Cracker’s landing platform can no longer be set on fire.
The Planet Cracker will no longer spawn underground after being rebuilt
The Tesla Quest will now accept the parts required to complete the quest.
Tesla Parts will now spawn appropriately after the game is loaded from a save file
Fixed an issue related to Twitch Chat, which caused an NRE during certain conditions when chat members were sending messages
Interplanetary Trade Achievement is now achievable
Ice and Lava Terraforming Achievements are now working correctly.
The “No food warning” now takes cooked food into account and will only trigger when there is no cooked or raw food
The timer formatting is now correct upon Alien Arrival
Exile Settlements will now appear on other planets. Deal with them as you see fit, Creator
Alien Settlements now have the opportunity to spawn on Alien Planets (though, to them, it’s their Mother Planet, and your Nuggets are the aliens)
Voidspawns that appear on other planets can now be killed. Hooray!
Space Objects that cannot be explored will no longer have the option to explore them
Currently, the team is concentrating fully on fixing as many issues as possible, but we are finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel where all the major and mid-sized issues will be fully addressed. We believe that after one or two more updates, we will be in a very good state. Once we’re there, we’re planning to get back to reviewing some of the suggestions we’ve been receiving from you and see if we can start working on some of them! So, if you’ve got a cool idea you want to share, don’t hesitate to join our discord and tell us all about it on our tu-improvements channel! Before we go, we want to hear about your exciting, funny, or just plain weird experiences in The Universim! Find something cool or new? Tell us about it! Share your stories, your screenshots, your city setups, anything, in our discord!
Have a wonderful weekend, Creators. And remember, it’s a beautiful planet. Try not to ruin it.
