In this week’s update we have made another optimization pass, focusing on various enemy cloth mechanics to increase performance for lower-end systems. Additionally, we have also introduced multiplayer connectivity feedback and multiplayer indicators. These allow players to have greater insight into the current state of their online experience, with icons to indicate both ping rate and packet loss. And, as always through our own investigations and player reports, we have made a further 40+ tweaks to continue enhancing the game.

Cloth Optimization on Enemies - We’ve made several optimization improvements to the cloth mechanics for various enemies to increase performance for lower-end systems.
Added Multiplayer Connectivity Feedback / Indicators - We have added a new system in multiplayer that provides informative icons for both player ping rate and packet loss. These enable players to instantly see the current state of their multiplayer health.

Fixed an issue where players could make changes to multiplayer settings while establishing a multiplayer session, which could result in a prolonged loading screen lasting around 7 minutes and potentially crashing the title.
Fixed an issue in multiplayer that could cause an incorrect notification to appear for the host when the co-op partner attempted to access the Coffer in Skyrest Bridge.
Fixed an issue in multiplayer that may cause a co-op partner's withered health to be displayed incorrectly.
Fixed an issue in multiplayer that may cause a co-op partner to lose the ability to jump, if they rapidly press the jump action near certain walls
Fixed an issue in multiplayer where an invader may receive Plucked Eyeballs when the player host killed an enemy marked by the revenge system.
Fixed an issue in multiplayer that could result in the host player becoming separated from their co-op partner by the moth wall Pilgrim's Perch.
Added new icons within the multiplayer UI that can indicate low ping and packetloss for players.

Fixed a collision issue that may cause Enslaved Miners to become stuck on wooden boxes in the flooded area located in the Mines.
Fixed a collision issue that could cause players to walk through a wooden structure in Fief of the Chill Curse.
Fixed a collision issue that may allow players to enter an inaccessible area close to the Infernal Enchantress boss arena.
Fixed a collision issue that could result in players falling out of the world when being pushed from an edge during death.

Fixed an issue that could cause the Lucent Beam spell to not be deflected when blocking it with a shield.

Fixed an issue where the Scarlet Shadow's underground attack could result in the player falling through the elevator floor.

Fixed an issue that could cause a player's attack and dodges to work incorrectly after being caught by Womb of Despair's grab attack.

Fixed an issue where Damarose the Marked could be interacted with through a moth wall during the boss fight with Gentle Gaverus, Mistress of Hounds.

Fixed an issue that could cause General Engstrom's health bar to appear when approaching the moth wall prior to fighting them.
Fixed an issue that could cause socketed runes on weapons to not appear correctly in the UI if the weapon was not recently equipped.

Fixed a rare crash that could occur when 3rd party online services were offline.

Fixed an issue where Vestige Seeds transferred to the Coffer disappeared if they exceeded the limit of seeds in the Coffer or the Inventory.

On Saturday we will welcome a new themed event, this time about Chinese Lunar Year (year of the Dragon!) We will release a new character skin and a friendly companion that will help you battle through Ragnarok.

Go to the Steam library and select Nordic Ashes.
Right click on it and select Properties.
A panel will open, select the Beta option.

Click the button to verify that it is correct.
If everything is OK, you will have the Beta option in the drop-down menu. Select it and the game will be updated.

Hey guys, so I've been busier these last few months that usual and I can finally share why!
For years now I have been working on Warsim fulltime but finally a few months ago I began the process of working on another game project which I'm super excited for but wont be officially announcing for quite some time (I want to have something awesome to show for it before I bring it to light)
Alongside that I have been actively practicing with my mates and formed a punk band and we played our first ever gig a few weeks back and another since, been a wild experience so far!
So inbetween the new game, the band, and general life stuff I've not been the most on it with Warsim that I have the last few years but that never means that Warsim is forgotten, case and point this update and many more like it! I will never not be indebted to the Warsim community for the support in life it has given me for more than half a decade now :)
So on to the update and it's a juicy one, we've got a new god tier upgrade to the Arena, a new public opinion loss system from battle, new necromancy events, a few new encounters and bug fixes, and finally 4 new challenge modes!!
CHALLENGE MODE (5 features)
The crowning feature of the update imo, a whole heap of new game starts. Warsim a little too easy? Have a crack at these new challenges! I will personally definitely be using the Empire challenge and Deatheater ones for a bit of fun, the races that occupy the deatheater kingdoms are still random so the results will be interesting.

A great suggestion by Warsim community legend TJ, Now after any battle you partake in you gain or lose public opinion dynamically depending on the outcome, so a series of bad losses can be all it takes to ruin your reputation, but a series of victories can improve the reputation of any unloved ruler!

Necromancy is still insanely powerful so I've added a few more debuffs in the form of random events!

The “Under the Sea” season, inspired by Disney’s animated classic The Little Mermaid, brings a tidal wave of new content to the game, including the brand new Atlantica racing environment! 4 NEW THE LITTLE MERMAID-INSPIRED RACERS
Racers Ariel, Ursula, Prince Eric, and King Triton are revving up their engines to take you on an underwater racing challenge.
Ariel is a Defender Class Racer, Ursula is a Trickster, Prince Eric is a Speedster, King Triton is Brawler a Class Racer.
Details of how to unlock each of our 4 seasonal Racers are listed below.

THE LITTLE MERMAID-INSPIRED RACERS UNIQUE SKILLS
ARIEL – RELIC HUNTER
Normal Activation: Several relics from the human world are spawned on the track in front of Ariel. Collecting each relic passively increases her top speed.
Charged Activation: Ariel spends all collected relics and gains a speed boost.
URSULA – SEA WITCH
Normal Activation: Ursula uses her two eel pets Flotsam and Jetsam to slow down Racers in front. Each eel follows a different adversary.
Charged Activation: Ursula causes her opponents to make an unfortunate wish. She activates an aura for several seconds. Whenever an opponent touches the aura, they gain the speed boost, but briefly lose the possibility of steering the kart.
PRINCE ERIC – SET SAIL
Normal Activation: Prince Eric summons his half-ruined ship, and controls it in assisted drive mode. The ship protects Eric from being stunned, and stuns opponents on touch.
Charged Activation: The ship rushes forward without Eric, following the racetrack. It can stun several opponents and can take several hits before breaking down.
KING TRITON – TRITON’S TRIDENT
Normal Activation: King Triton uses his trident to cast a beam of energy in front of him. The beam stuns opponents on hit.
Charged Activation: King Triton uses his trident to send a wide tide backwards. The tide follows the race track and stuns opponents on hit.
