Hello everyone!


Today's update is introducing a complete new revamp of the game's User Interface and much more!
We've reworked the interface to provide a much cleaner and smoother look for the game that'll be used going forward, we hope you like it! Additionally, we've introduced a new localization option: Spanish. In the future, we'll be introducing the implementation of two more languages, which should hopefully come in the later months.



Following this update, we're going to be taking a little revisit on our update schedule. If we're being completely honest, the schedule we decided to go with just isn't viable long term. For the updates to come out that frequently and often with high-quality, it would require an entire rewrite for the content that is planned to come out this year.

That being said, the update schedule we set isn't most likely going to be followed for the rest of this year. We know this is disappointing considering the fact that we haven't even really been able to start following it when it comes to content. Updates will obviously resume for the rest of this year, but it won't be as often as we had planned it to be. Stuff is still coming, don't worry, and we hope it makes up for this announcement.

Lastly, we've got another update coming next week! This update will celebrate the Lunar New Year, and will feature some brand new cosmetics and some neat map changes! We've got quite a bit coming in next week's update, so be on the lookout for that. Now without further ado, let's get on with the patch notes.

General:
  • Complete overhaul of the game's user interface, providing a much smoother and cleaner look for the game.
  • New Language added - Spanish! We're working on adding more languages in the future with full localization support.
  • Internal optimization - We've cleaned the game's internal structure, getting rid of unneeded assets, code optimization, and just overhauling old internal systems and improving them. This should improve the game's download size, future patch sizes, and the game's performance.
Shop:
  • Adjusted shop prices
    • Uncommon: 500 Gold
    • Rare: 800 Gold
    • Epic: 1500 Gold
    • Legendary: 2000 Gold
  • Improved the UI for shop cosmetics, both in the Shop page and in the Item Preview
  • Updated description texts for cosmetics, simplifying them or adjusting them

  • Fixed an issue where the Lobby background randomly became broken
  • Fixed an issue where some Setting options would appear on the Lobby screen
  • Fixed an issue where some cosmetics in the shop displayed the wrong text

Hi, everyone. Welcome to another week's developer's diary.
This is not the most productive week as I mentioned earlier because I got infected by some unknown bacterial that the doctors haven't figured out yet. So, the update is slowed down even now.

But, we still have one big feature and something else for this week.

The biggest new feature of this week is the spell fusion. Even though this is not Magicka, you can now create your own spell from some basic elemental spells by fusion them together. More details can be found in an in-game document and the game's wiki page. I'll just copy-paste here:

The process of spell fusion is to merge multiple elemental spells and create something new. The first spell selected is the main spell, it determines some major attributions of the spell you are about to create, including the affected area, icons, and the main element. The other spells you selected are the secondary spells. They will add their elemental attributions, animations, and damage or healing effects on the main spell.
However, things are not just that easy. To fuse spells, one needs to have some elemental proficiency to begin with. More complex spells require higher elemental proficiency. The spell you created may also require a lot of MP to cost. You may find ways such as improving your elemental proficiency or finding a helper to migrate those drawbacks of the Spell Fusion.
Some fusion spells may have unexpected results.

Currently, the function exists mostly in the Mages Guide, you can use their Alters of Books to fuse spells. The Alters of Books are also purchasable furniture. Thus, you can also buy one and use it elsewhere. In addition to that, you can also find someone to help you bypass the elemental proficiency limitation required to fuse a spell for a fee. That's one of the main income of the Mages Guild.

Some related changes are also been made. For example: we got two more earth spells you can learn from the mages in the Guild.

Adobe means, well, just adobe. Thus, it's an earth spell. But, in this supernatural world, popular culture matters. Thus, its power is scaled by a user's 3D modeling skills.
Another thing is, that you can now find it's much easier to level up your elemental proficiency early on so that this system is not too far away from the reach of your use.
Of course, it will continue to improve in future updates.

Now, let's go to the "something else" parts of the diary.
The first one is the coming of the F.F.F. Dan. What can be something great to add to the game if there needs to be something that can enhance spells and be ready for the upcoming Valentine's Day? We already have merchants selling love gifts from the past years. So, how about we do something opposite? So, here comes the new F.F.F. Extremism tenet:

You can find their fliers from enemies' loot or trash bins to unlock this tenet.

It was originally a real-life organization to punish unfaithful lovers. However, with popular culture development in East Asia. They are now more and more pictured as a parody organization that looks similar to the infamous K.K.K. But, they do not burn people of specific races. They just want to burn people who are in love equally. So, by adding this tenet to your customized belief, you may gain a boost for your fire spells. However, this is also the first tenet that defines actions that will damage your devotion, you are softly discouraged from taking certain actions.
Previously, I planned to let them have more presents in the game. However, as the reasons I mentioned above. I am currently unable to add all the planned content this week.

Some other small updates are:
You can now turn corpses into fertilizers in smelters.
And the Creepy Dolls get a functionality description to let people know better of their usages.


That's for this week. I am still battling the infection. Hopefully, that's not the start of a new pandemic. :P

We hope that you've been enjoying Legendary Hoplite, we've enjoyed reading the reactions and discussing the various features of the game with you all.

As mentioned in a post earlier this morning, we were made aware of a few rather serious bugs. As such, we've been hard at work sorting them out.

We're happy to announce that we have identified the causes of the various issues and have released a hotfix.

In this new version: 1.1.0 we have:

Bugfixes
  • Fixed a bug that caused the game to crash when the player exited/ended a match very quickly.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the game to crash during the Golden Fleece (sheep) level.
  • Fixed a bug that caused issues with the controller/gamepad when you received a weapon as a reward.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the video hints to not play on the Steam Deck.
  • Fixed various game issues that triggered when the player mouse hovered over an item
  • Fixed various causes of soft locks and crashes when using the controller.
    Important This issue is not fully fixed, we are unfortunately aware of a few more crash/soft lock situations that result from the controller. We are working to fix them as well.
  • Fixed various causes of the soft lock during the tutorial
  • Fixed a bug with the "Defensive Parry" ability that would cause the game to soft lock (the hero would freeze in the idle mode).
  • Fixed various issues with the Russian translation
  • Fixed various issues with the Vietnamese translation
  • Various other backend fixes and optimizations to prevent game crashes.
Game Balance Changes
  • The ability "Vigor Taker" no longer appears on the Heavy Spear and the Super Heavy Spear
  • Reduce the Minotaur's Descendant's HP from 33000 to 30000
  • Reduced the Minotaur's Descendant's red slash damage from 65 to 55
