Balance adjustment

1. The time for Lingtan Bai Zhi to fall and stand up has been extended from 3 seconds to 6 seconds.



[Problem fixing]

1. Fixed the issue where the possessed spirit scout Bai Zhi used an invisibility talisman after using the main star skill, but Bai Zhi did not enter invisibility.

2. Fixed the issue where both Lingtan and Baizhi, who were possessed by Lingtan and Baizhi using the main star skill, would stack speed when using speed symbols simultaneously.

3. Fixed the issue where auxiliary star Runyu would take effect and enter cooldown when teammates were full of health.

4. Fixed an issue where the auxiliary star Runyu did not restore the closest teammate.

5. Fixed the issue of insufficient spiritual power when using items when the spirit probe Bai Zhi is attached to the back and lacks spiritual power.

13. Fixed the issue where Lingtan Baizhi possessed Li Xiaotu, causing abnormal body models after detachment.

14. Fixed the issue of abnormal sound effects caused by broken walls in Lingtan Cloud.

15. Fixed the issue where Lingtan Bai Zhi possessed the ability to remotely dismantle the White Autumn Practice 1 skill blister and Dracula 2 skill bat.

16. Fixed the issue where simulating the vengeful spirit sword spirit would obtain combo points for regular attacks in certain areas of Temple B map.

1.01.23 - Patch Notes

QOL Improvements
  • Reduced Maveths Earth Drain health lost per tentacle.
  • Reworked Bright Talisman, you should now have normal lantern light at all times and even brighter lantern light while holding the block.
  • Added SFX when proccing the dual wield haste effect.
  • Made improvements to where loot is dropped from enemies and chests.
  • Delayed the invulnerability period for the Spearman Ferrum when they do a jump attack so they can still take damage until they've fully jumped away.
  • Made adjustments to the Hashara Princess's behavior to reduce the chances that she jumps off of the boss arena.
  • Added ground indicators on players when the Hashara Elite is about to execute an aerial attack on them
  • Normalized damage and charge duration across all fighting styles for charge attacks so that charge attacks feel consistently powerful and effects that proc from charge attacks aren't more or less powerful for different fighting styles.
  • Added new VFX and SFX for charge attacks.
  • Improved players' hit reaction when being hit while blocking to give more feedback.
  • Added the ability to instantly turn toward the direction of input at the beginning of a dodge attack allowing actions like quickly dodging forward and attacking backward.
  • Added a delay to when the damage starts and reduced the knockback force for the Feral Ferrum whirlwind attack.
  • Re-worked dagger head effect to now increase damage done by DOT effects.
  • Enabled sprint toggle functionality. The player no longer needs to hold the sprint button to continue to sprint.
  • Updated the location of the storage chest by the Starspire Refuge forge so it better lines up with the upgraded forges.
  • Added option to disable camera shakes.
  • Added option to inverse the camera pitch controls.
  • Increased the size of the text for the large option and expanded the UI elements further to accommodate the change.
  • Added a time played to the save file to help tell which save is which. ( Old saves will start at 0:00 but any new time played will add to it).

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed various crash bugs and crash on exit bugs.
  • Fixed bug causing Battletrance effect to proc even when an attack is blocked.
  • Fixed bug causing VFX for frost block to remain on screen if your block was consumed by the Ferrum Sentinels Silence AOE.
  • Fixed bug causing heal to occur when exiting a menu if it was bound to the same key as the back button.
  • Fixed various environment traps and hazards that were dealing damage without making any sounds.
  • Fixed soft-lock that could occur at the Tupi's Grotto docks if the game closed mid-dialogue after defeating Ubaani.
  • Fixed a bug that would crash the game if the character was still spinning in the character creator when the game was launched.
  • Fixed a bug that had the top and bottom cursor navigation inverted for the world map when approaching the edge with the controller.
  • Fixed a bug that could crash the game if a key that could not be found was used for menu navigation and was trying to be accessed for the image.
  • Fixed a bug that would keep the extra notches of spellblade on the UI after the spell dancer talisman was removed.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause a crash when inspecting a quest that the player completed from time passing, there was not always text data for those conditions and now has a fail-safe.
  • Made an alteration to fade effects for story transitions to not pop the UI in and out for a split second.

Story of Nararale - NPCs


Long time no see! This chapter of the Development Log is about the Menu and Settings. The settings include Graphics, Audio, and Controls settings (Gameplay Settings are in development).

Graphics Settings:

  • Display Output: Useful for switching monitors (in case you have more than one monitor).
  • Screen Mode: Includes Fullscreen, Windowed Borderless, and Windowed (which can change the resolution).
  • V-Sync: Vertical Sync for anyone experiencing screen tearing while playing the game.
  • Show FPS: Displays the FPS number at the top right of the screen.
  • Upscaling (FSR): Upscaling Method for low-end PCs to lower resolution while playing.
  • Shadow: Shadow settings and can also be completely turned off.
  • Environment: Environment settings and can also be completely turned off (Including Grass, Rocks, and any kind of environment that does not affect gameplay, excluding Trees and Walls).
  • Fog: Fog settings and can also be completely turned off, including Scene Fog and Volumetric Fog.
  • Level of Detail: Level of Detail (LOD) can also be completely turned off to have only the lowest LOD all the time. This will be useful for low-end PCs.

Audio Settings:

  • Audio Output: Choose output for your audio (in case you have more than one).
  • Master, Music, Ambient, and Effect Volumes: Adjust the volume with a slider or input the number yourself.

Controls Settings:

  • Keybind Mapping: Keybind mapping for anyone who wants to change the controls to fit themselves.

Gameplay Settings (Still in development)

Loading Screen
I also remade all the boring loading screens with a progress bar, featuring a kind of zoom out effect and loading map clusters. When the map finishes loading, the camera will zoom in at the end.

Off-Topic Info:

I've never posted the progress since I decided to switch to the Godot Engine and had to relearn all the knowledge to make progress on the project. After some time, I finally made some progress, so I wanted to share some info about it.

It looks like the Godot Engine is good for my project so far, in terms of performance and ease of use. Even though some functions are missing, such as Grid Placement, I have to create the plugin myself to achieve these kinds of map creation tasks, just like I did in the Unity Engine.

I've tried pushing the map size to 90x90 tiles so far, and the project still runs fine on the GTX1050 Ti.

Bug 1. Game crashes after "login" page:
This happends when the game trys to load a steam friend that has an animated icon
To tempoararly solve this issue you can play the game while being logged out on steam so that the friends list wont load and there for wont crash.

Bug 2. The your_world.exe section is black!
If you have been having issues with "your_world.exe" being blank there is a temporary solution of turning the "Antialiasing - Mode" in your Nvida control pannel to "Enhance the application settings"

You can use "streamer mode" in settings to tempoararly solve this issue (once streamer mode enabled youll have to restart the game for the changes to take place)
