If you are finding the game too easy and winning too much, now you have the option to increse the intensity. There will be More enemies and they will be Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger


When you feel ready now you can select an Anomaly to change the way you play the game.
  • Late To The Party - You arrived late and the orbital bombardment already started
  • Lethal Environment - Receive damage continously but the enemies drop extra HP items.
  • Jammed Weapon - Your Main Weapon is Jammed but you get more weapons.

Greetings, Directors!

We have recently eliminated quite a few bugs, but in our enthusiasm, it seems we have missed a few of their pesky relatives crawling back in. So today, we have published a new hotfix that deals with those unpleasant newcomers, but also other problems you have brought to our attention. And what's more - it even noticeably improves the construction AI! Check the full changelog below for all details.

Change Log:

  • The construction AI (Both AI enemies and players autobuild) has been reworked to be much more intelligent and will now consistently advance colonies towards endgame state taking into account needs and eventually producing tier 3 units and structures.
  • Fixed issue that could cause a player to be unable to enter systems belonging to the Anabah Empire.
  • Fixed issue where player could softlock the game if text skip was used with very high frequency.
  • Fixed issue where the campaign name could be displayed incorrectly.
War Hospital - Nacon
Hello Major,

I hope all is going well on the Front, we need reinforcements and that's why we're sending you a new trainload of merchandise... sorry, fixes.

Technique:
  • Added autosave feature
  • Added shortcuts for all buttons that are present in the top left corner of the screen (the same ones that are accessible via the gamepad's shoulder buttons). These shortcuts are also bindable in the menu
  • Added binding in the menu to the following keyboard controls: camera panning, camera rotation, pausing, changing game's speed, skipping dialogue/cinematics
  • Saving when a task window is visible (gamepad only) no longer leads to sequence break on load (this is not retroactive)
  • Fixed a rare memory leak that would cause the IGM to be unresponsive after a Chapter was complete.

Game Design:
  • Fixed an issue where the soldier's value markers were empty at the end of the rehabilitation process if the process was very quick
  • Resources are no longer truncated when loading with more than basic Warehouse capacity after upgrading the warhouse
  • Fixed workers carrying wounded or items from train sometimes blocking and possibly impacting performance (this is not retroactive)
  • Fixed missing food depot in Chapter 2 Scout Quest "Family Matters Are Never Simple"
  • Fixed bottom rehabilitation tent cards not scrolling up on their own after being moved and sometimes potentially blocking
  • Amputated german captives no longer invisible in the rehabilitation tent
  • German Captives' patient cards no longer hide their surname after loading the game
  • Fixed workers sent onto special tasks at the end of the chapter blocking when progressing to the next
  • Updated splines for ADS ambulances to prevent collisions when one vehicle leaves the garrage while the other approaches it.
  • Nurses assignment to the Hospital wards now is correctly capped at the amount that can work there. The cap has been fixed to behave correctly with upgrades
  • Fixed missing wounded on Mine Explosion in Chapter 2
  • Priority to carry wounded from ADS to ambulance is now higher than to carry wounded from trenches to ADS as intended
  • Upgrades with unmet requirements now state these requirements in the description (for clarity, mostly for the Truck Garrage which requires a Scout Tent, both in different tabs)
  • Fixed misc events like the construction of the Memorial Stone breaking the game's progress in various ways (like locking combat from happening or the whole Chapter from finishing) (this won't be retroactive in most cases)
  • Older saves with a quest for X-Ray that have the upgrade locked for some reason now have that upgreade specifically unlocked (no need to use the "Turn off tutorials" workaround)
  • Scout teams can no longer be sent back to hospital when they are on an active mission
  • Problematic spaces where staff could get stuck in certain situations were excluded from navigation.

- Dialog Context Builder

As you know, Foxtail is being translated into multiple languages. Translating a big body of text with branching dialogs and conditions and complicated context is always a difficult task for both developers and translators.

We're now getting descriptions like "In Backyard: Axe + Knife or Hammer (1st time)" and "Leah + Pie in House when Grandma~sleeping" and "Entering Forest from Oaks when gathering_herbs and before eat_all_raspberry" automatically for every line of dialog in the game. Translators will love this one!



- Transcript mode

A humble little button right next to "Run" that toggles a new dialog mode for testing the game.
Instead of clicking through long dialogs over and over while tweaking text and logic, we can skip spoken lines altogether.
When a dialog line is skipped, it automatically appears in the new "Transcript" tab, so we can still proofread the text while skipping it.

The Issue where the game soft-locks in certain Focused Encounters, which occurred after Feb. 1st Scheduled Update, has been fixed.

Steam will be updated immediately, and the fixed version will be playable after 2024.02.02 1:30 (KST).
Since iOS and Android platforms require our game to go through a review, we will notify you as soon as we pass the reviews and the fixed versions become available for download.

0.10.6.0 Patch Notes
  • Implemented some network lag compensation. It's by no means perfect but it should smooth things out a little when playing from weaker connections or being located farther away from the server.
    • Thanks to all our playtesters for helping test this feature. We will keep improving on it so Starveil is as enjoable as possible for many people.
  • Added an option for Cast triggers to the Esc menu. By default it's set to Mouse click which is the behaviour we've had already in the game. There are also two more options, to cast skills on Key press and Key release. In other words, we now have fast casting as an option.
  • Fixed an issue where rebinding skill keys broke pre-cast skill telegraphs
  • Added new, yet still temporary, graphics to the Disassembly machine in the Hub.

Known Issues
  • The game is way too zoomed out on higher resolutions than 1080p.
    • You can use the F3 button while logged onto a character for some debug settings with resolution and scaling
  • Using skills too fast with the Mouse click Cast trigger option may result in skills being interrupted
  • Not all abilities have audio effects

1º Game Mode Difficulty Screen Fix: Addressed an issue where the difficulty adjustment on the game mode screen was not compatible with the Russian language.

2º Skip Cinematic Button Fix: Resolved a conflict between the Skip Cinematic button and the crouch button on the gamepad, which was preventing players from crouching.
