- The Level Design team has finished the maps of the two biggest cities, Kasteron and Ereluna, for the open world. They have also remained dedicated to the ongoing revamp and review of older missions. 🧙♂️Dev Note: We think cooldowns are less effective because, if you want to optimize, you would need to use everything once the cooldown is up. This approach is not ideal for situational artifacts like shields or things that require strategic timing. So, with charges, you can control the best time to use them, and we can achieve more balance overall in all content. The artifacts still have a bit of a cooldown, but it's only 5-10 seconds.
- As this is a Devlog showcasing Orbryn, we also wanted to give you a sneak peek of the Dwarven Kingdom. ⛏️ 🧙♂️ Dev Note: We did this because some heroes' ultimates are easier to pull off, requiring less positioning and timing, so they had an advantage. They could use their ultimates as soon as they got them and start gathering energy very fast. On the other hand, heroes that needed more positioning were having a worse performance. With this change, you've got the option to wait a bit before using your ultimate since you can now stack up to 25% more energy before you decide to use it.
To start things off,
we want to apologize for the lack of communication in the past two months.
and because of that we decided to create this community post to clarify and talk about changes involving us and Tales of: Sena in general.
With that, we hope that questions, and rumors about the situation get answered.
We split this Community Post into three parts for better organization, those parts are:
Removal of Tales of: Sena
(Chapter 1 and the Steam page)
The future of Tales of: Sena
Personal words from Josh
We hope that these points answer all of your questions, and if that isn't the case, you can contact us via Discord or our support email.

Chapter 1 and the Steam page
As many of you know, we removed the Steam page and the game from Steam, while still keeping the name "Tales of: Sena".
Let's talk about it, shall we?
We've decided to remove both things for two major reasons:
copyright and planned changes involving the full game and its story.
We won't be discussing the copyright side of it since most of it is internal information, but it made us not only cancel the planned big update but as said, the full Chapter 1.
Talking about the second part is relatively simple, we are all pretty much new developers and started this project with basically no knowledge, and after time you obviously get better at what you do.
Well, that happened to us, and we straight up didn't really like the product that we published anymore.
That doesn't mean we hated it, not at all, but we saw or rather see more in it than there was with the Chapter 1 release.
All that brought us to this moment where both the Steam page and the game are "vaulted" and removed from the servers.
Some of you also saw that the achievements are gone, which is on purpose for game testing reasons, but don't worry, there will be a lot more once we are done with the full release.
Plans and thoughts
The future is bright, that's for sure, and we as a team are more than excited about the future of the Tales of: Sena franchise.
We have a lot of cool things planned, and with our team being newly "rebranded" and set up, we are ready to make the best game we possibly can.
We can't say too much yet, for obvious reasons such as spoilers, but we can announce that the individual chapter releasing method of the first release is gone, and instead we will be focusing on delivering a full game/story experience in the Tales of: Sena universe.
Speaking of, we are happy to say that out of the people that actually read this message, almost ALL will get "Tales of: Sena" (the full game), for free since you've all supported us since day one.
Our socials will also soon be redone so we can share more new stuff with all of you, such as behind the scenes or sneak peeks.
(On our Discord server, we have already started doing that, so if you are interested, the link is down below)
Lastly, I want to talk about the Steam page coming back. Since we don't want to remove the game fully from Steam, we will keep the page we have right now which is empty at the moment.
We will re-activate the game and Steam page with the full launch.
Currently, we are just working on the story, maps, RPG system and a possible trailer (planned for the end of 2024, hopefully) so we are not on break.
Thoughts and opinion about the situation
Hey,
I just wanted to add a quick word about my personal thoughts about the topic to this post and express what I am feeling.
Tales of: Sena has been in my head and my dream project since the end of 2020, and seeing it finally bloom now in 2022/23 fills me with joy I can't describe yet, but I am very thankful for everything so far.
Seeing people like what you create is cool on its own, but people actually still following you after such a big thing that happened,
speaking about the removal, is beyond my mind.
From my side, it couldn't be better at the moment. Obviously, I know for you, it's not the best at the moment since... well the game is gone, but I will personally make 100% sure to get this done and deliver an awesome experience that will pull your silly and sad strings. ;)
Thanks for the support and have a nice day, Josh.
