We squashed a really nasty one that couldnt wait for a bigger patch - so here we go with another hotfix:
[FIXED] Players encountered missing water, food or other materials, together with various "weird" behavior of graphics. The reason was a bug in the loading process that corrupted every savefile it loaded.
After this Hotfix, this Loading Bug is fixed, but savefiles, that were loaded with the loading bug, and then saved, will stay corrupted. Your safest bet is to go back to an older savefile that you didn't save in this state.
We are sorry for the inconvinience and lost savefiles this caused, but luckily this lead to a relatively fast fix for such a critical bug - thanks to everyone who delivered information and was actively involved in the bughunt - you rock!
Fixed an issue where the background panel didn’t fully cover the screen in ultra wide resolutions
Fixed an issue where the player would spawn into the void if he somehow died before finding the first checkpoint. The player now spawns at the start position if he dies.
Fixed a trigger that didn’t properly reset the Burial Chamber puzzle.
Fixed an issue that would display the wrong ending description which is connected to the actual ending.
Fixed an issue where the dagger didn’t get consumed after being used into the green flame.

Another small update here based off of player feedback, mostly focusing on overall game balance and addressing boss difficulty.
-G.H.O.S.T. usage now depletes at a decreased rate.
-All bosses now suffer increased damage from firearms. The increases are small but have a noticeable effect on battle flow. Explosive damage has not changed.
-A few projectile blocking / movement blocking obstacles in the level 5 boss room have been removed for ease of player movement.
-Boss Stonewall's pillar projectiles now have visual indicators highlighting intended player attack points.
- Starting ammunition has been increased in all levels and level checkpoints.
- Level 7 enemy count has been reduced slightly.
Controller support is still being worked on. In addition, a future patch should increase the number of checkpoints in each level.
While Machine Match is at its core a shooting game, the standout feature lies in the concept of personalizing robots, allowing players to express their personality through them. This aspect is central to continuous exploration and development.
So, this week have been dedicated to enhance the player experience in Machine Match by offering even more extensive opportunities for customizing and personalizing your robots with diverse colors and patterns. As you progress through the game, unlocking new colors, patterns, stickers, and even exploring possibilities like feathers or scales becomes part of your journey...
Similar to how selected weapons degrade in the heat of battle, we're talking about introducing a dynamic element where patterns, colors, and stickers naturally fade and wear over time. This introduces a need for regular maintenance and upgrades to keep your robot looking its best. What are your thoughts on this? Leave us a comment and let us know.
On our creative drawing board, we're contemplating the addition of facial features to the robots in various forms.
In a broader sense, we've enriched the game's color spectrum and introduced a complementary color to enhance the robots' primary color. The results from this week's playtest have been promising, demonstrating that these enhancements make it easier for you to identify your robot amidst the intensity of battle...
Naturally, this week has brought its own set of bug fixes and optimizations to ensure our readiness for the upcoming demo release in February. More on that in next Sunday's update, so stay tuned...!
Thank you for tagging along - have a great Sunday!
I'm very excited to announce that the cozy RPG A Weekend in Puzzleburg (Steam page here) will be getting a free content update called This Town Ain't Big Enough releasing on February 13, 2024.
When I launched A Weekend in Puzzleburg back on February 17, 2023 (almost one year ago at this point), there were a few ideas I really liked but were too complex to get into the game by its launch date. So I held onto those ideas and kept plugging away on them post-launch. Here are three quests that will be added to A Weekend in Puzzleburg on February 13, 2024:
Billie the Kid (side quest): this is an Old West-themed game of hide-and-seek that puts your knowledge of the town to the test as you try to find a kid who goes by Billie the Bandit hiding in different spots all around Puzzleburg (if you can catch her four times, she declares "I knew this town wasn't big enough!")
The One Yo-Yo (side quest): here you may very well determine the entire future of Puzzleburg! Two girls in town each seek a yo-yo that is prophesied to belong to the future mayor of Puzzleburg. It falls to you as the "yo-yo bearer" to decide which candidate should receive the legendary object and become anointed as the chosen one who will someday rule the land (or you can hold onto it for yourself, of course)
Do Not Disturb (main quest): at a random point in the game, your hotel room key will malfunction, prohibiting you from entering your own hotel room. But rest assured, a simple trip to the hotel front desk will resolve the situation. Just a bit of flavor here to better capture the vacation slice-of-life. And note that you will only ever get locked out of your hotel room a single time no matter how many times you use the room key (this quest occurs at random when trying to access your room, and only after a certain point in the game after you've gotten used to entering and exiting your room freely, for maximum effect)
And of course, Dante the hotel concierge has hints for each stage of these new quests. Just like all the quests in the original release, he always has a hint at the ready so you never get stuck!
The two side quests will be added to the Everything You Can See and Do in Puzzleburg guide when the free content update goes live so that you know exactly how to trigger each one (the main quest is triggered automatically and at random, so there's nothing special you need to do to trigger it).
Whether this will be your first trip to Puzzleburg or an enticement to go back for a return trip, I hope you enjoy the new things to do in town when the free content update This Town Ain't Big Enough arrives February 13, 2024.
